One reason I picked up the bass in my 40’s Loved RHCP since high school ❤️flea Music is my escape. Husband got me this style bass for birthday Love everything he does
Trumpet was his first instrument. He was on of the top players in his high school. He picked up bass in his late teens once his close friend invited him to join RHCP as a bassist.
Flea is an national born citizen in Australia, Melbourne. A member of RHCP. I would like to just say a very Happy 59th birthday to Michael Peter Balzary. October 16, 1962 Flea was a trumpet prodigy but went with the bass. Thank goodness..
I've been an RHCP fan since the 80's when i first heard the album freaky styley. Still am a fan. They come a long way. I like the book scar tissue as well .
I’m listening to the remake of Little Sunflower ...Sunflower by Milt Jackson. Freddie Hubbard is brilliant on that track. I love Little Sunflower as well.
Was blessed to see him do this two days later in LA. One of the most memorable live music moments I’ve ever ever seen. He’s a transcendent musician and and a really great human being.
Mr. Flea is amazing! A very creative and versitile musician full of tallent. I didn't know he played trumpet so well too! Well, I can added he´s a very expressive dancer too. He dances very good!...He´s so funny...!😁 I never get tired to watch this video. It's the third or fourth or ...time that I watch it! I've always loved you all RHCP! When do you give us the joy of seeing you perform together again, Misters? We miss you so much...your music is fabulous, fantastic, beautiful, interesting and all adjectives I can remember...
Just remember…all this while…flea was secretly jamming with John, when he suddenly started doing these solo performances with a looper and appearing very experiemental jazz…. Right around the time John referenced that he had gone back and listened to all their work. I cannot fucking wait for the new peppers album
Imagine have a transcendent talent that shuts everything down in your mind and amplifies and releases the cerebral energy so beautifully and so much so that for a moment he is truly lost in his vibe and most likely barely aware of his surroundings. Truly giving himself to the music and the music he creates rewards him with that experience . Now that’s real freedom What a gift. If we could be so free that we could allow our own creativity out, imagine how we too would feel in that moment. Make way for what matters.
The note at the end of the book of powerful enough to jumpstart the saddest soul in the hardest of times. I love that book and will continue to listen to it when I feel lost and Trapt in the standards of the world around me
This is what I reach for in life. This true, pure actualization of self. This elevation of consciousness to higher and higher intentional order and abandonment of entropy. When I observe someone like Flea, I acknowledge that maximizing one's existence must be independent of any arbitrary dogma or rules founded by our peers. I observe that a person's expression of goodness takes whatever form resides inside them. A farmer's creative goodness may be their beautiful nurturing of plants to produce fantastic food. A video game developer's might be their deep immersion in their sets of software code to produce magical experiences for game players. Flea's is his music. And all are good.
Okay, so I love me some RHCP and I love me some Flea, too! I've always known that he is a badass bass player (a few of the RHCP concerts I've gone to over the years featured him going off on solos) and also a decent/good trumpet player. This 14-minute piece makes me really want Flea to join a good fusion band when he has time off with the RHCP. While I love his funk stuff, I'd really love to see him explore more of his experimental jazz side of things. I think he'd be great!
Flea was my whole inspiration for learning to play trumpet. As a kid I thought the trumpet was a lame instrument, but the moment I learned Flea played trumpet it removed my negative outlook.
