This song was written as her final declaration of love to her ex-boyfriend, the Beach Boys' drummer Dennis Wilson (whom she later described as "half of him was like a little boy and the other half was insane").
Anastasia Dunbar at my old job when I would wash trailers in concrete bays it’d be too loud for people to hear you. So I’d wear my ear plugs and sing the lyrics to that Eccojams song as loud as I could. Memories.
Christine said Dennis Wilson and her got together because they were opposites and "Opposites Attract.." There were times she had to "mother him" and take care of him whilst he came home to her and get sober...and only to leave and return to her, to get "well again.." If that ain't love, I don't know what is? I know because I've been through something similar and my love died tragically also, after breaking up with him.. I'll forever love him and never regret the time we were together. Rest in peace precious Christine along with crazy and silly but ever so kind Dennis.. may you both frolic in joy and happiness forever and ever together.. ( give my love to my Beach Boy, Rick)
I wholeheartedly agree! Nowadays at least, Mirage is the only album of theirs which was released between 1975 and 1987 that is highly underrated. In addition to this song, I highly recommend both That's Alright and Straight Back. (The Mac released five albums from 1975-87)
@@macmacreynolds8712 omg! I am obsessed with "Straight Back " such an amazing song..i got the super deluxe version of Mirage..just stunning..And thats Alright " was one of thier songs they wrote wayyy before Mac..i could go on all day
Great track, but the best sound from this video, here, is when the speaker cables (+ and -) are reversed on both stereo speakers, since this recording's making unnatural acoustic polarity on both channels. It's a matter of the normal asymmetry of the atmospheric compressions and rarefactions of the musical instruments and voices being inverted due to the electrical signaling done either at the studio where it was recorded, or in mastering.. Keep on Mackin', though...
In that picture, that has got to be the most vulnerable that I've ever seen Christine McVie look! (Then again, maybe she's pretending to look vulnerable; or maybe she was just tired)
