Wouldn't that be wonderful!! With all her heart that shows what a kind, beautiful, gentle Spirit she really is!! I can't imagine how hard it must have and has been living in the world of music biz she is in! As she has revealed it has put her through the depths of life as well as the pinnacle. But for someone who has such a deep pool of emotions and feelings, that just translates to being mercilessly flung around! I am so glad she survived and seems to have endured as well as she has for all these years!! To quote another wonderful prophet who passed away too soon, "What a long strange trip it's been!". Bless you and thank you Stevie ❤️❤️🌈🌈‼️
@@jamiemurphy1964yes!dreams come true! I’m getting it my older sissy hinted for Christmas cd version. It’s too $$$ for me! So any reviews from those that have it yet But no track list ! ( spoiler alert!)
This is the birth of a song in the process as it grows up and gets older as it progresses with more harmonies and instruments..,this is the innocence and beauty of the birth of a song on its journey to completion..wonderful
I keep coming back. This song is like an old friend. Comforting, soul soothing. Healing. I love Stevie. She is so special to me. She has healed me with her beautiful voice, words, lyrics and music. Stevie got me through tough times.
You and me both!!! I’ve have been in serious love with her since I was 5 years old! Way back in 1975!! I’m still in major love with her to this ver day!,, ❤❤❤
Mike Madigan hey bro, Hope all's well your way wit u n yours, I came across a song BILLE JEAN, it's sung RAW like this version, it's Michael Jackson's song but CHRIS CONNEL, i think, or Connelly maybe, sorry , he is FROM AUDIO SLAVE groups lead singer, I agree wit u, this version from Stevie is FABULOUS, have a great day man !! PEACE, PROSPERITY n BLESSINGS to all from GREAT USA!!!
It has sooo much of Stevie's soul in it!! For those of us who prefer deep feelings rather than glitz, THIS IS IT!! Joni Mitchell has a rendition of Both Sides Now, like this. No glitz, just bare, true feelings!!
One day I really listened to the lyrics and I realized she wasn’t talking to a lover or other person. That she was actually talking to different versions or herself and it was like an epiphany. The song became so powerful I was in tears.
Always amazes me that the magic is in the melody line. Ms. Nicks never had problems coming up with the most magical melody lines and what an entrancing and emotional voice. The songs she wrote back in the day, wow.
I once had a critical moment. I was preparing to commit suicide. at this time, something was constantly playing on the laptop. I didn't pay attention to it. at one point, this song turned on completely by accident. she saved me at that moment. Thanks, Stevie.
Daniil Melnikov sending you my prayers, please stay strong! Want to send you a hug and tell you it will be ok, it’s only life, and this too shall pass! Things will get better! 🙏🏻🌸💜🥰🌈
Purely magical is the only way to describe Stevie. She is the voice of the '70s, '80s, '90s, 2000s, 2010s, and now the 2020s. Sixty years of pure magic and the soundtrack of so many lives. From Buckingham Nicks to Fleetwood Mac to her solo career, there has never been another who even comes close to her. She is a gypsy, a Welsh witch, a poet, a songbird, a dancer, a lover, a dreamer, a writer, a wild heart, a sweet girl, and a goddess who loves her shawls. She has been my muse for 60 years. Her life & love is her music. I can't even imagine how many songs she has tucked away in her "Gothic Trunk of Lost Songs". Please keep singing Stevie, we're still listening!
I literally had this song on loop all day today. It soothes the soul when your energy is too high, almost to the point of self destruction. Stevie is a legend.
Please never delete this amazing version of this song. (Just heard a bunch of people talking shit about gypsies and it made me mad) this is the version of Gypsies I always have had and will have. Hope and freedom live in this song and in our hearts if we nourish it. ❤
Instrumental or Acapella.... BOTH ARE BEAUTIFUL!!💫💫💫💫💫 This woman is a GODDESS. My goodness I miss the 80's and 90's. This was the time I grew up in, and I'll tell you now..... Thing's were amazing back then. I love you Stevie ❤️💛💫💫💫💫💫💫
Wrong. There are people in big offices controlling it. The artist control their instruments. There is control in music too. And if you copy something you may be sued, so it is not an anything goes business.
ocean babin I still buy cd's an album's Bowie/David Bowie/Fleetwood Mac/Iggy Pop/Neil Diamond/Bruce Springsteen/The Killers/Lou Reed/Peter Gabriel etc etc! The bands I jus named an many others r who deserve most of the money I think It's sad 2 see record company's sign most of these new silly names that play over an over on the radio station what is what I'd call the age of the diva lol. So many talted musicans not even being heard it's a shame. But let em rip musicans of an keep giving the money 2 some brat who is dancing around with what I can olny usume are the people that look like whroes dancing with the old cast of Jersey Shore lol. Let em count they're money they're fake and most people running things will be rich, but it will never be as rich as the feeling I get from the song right above these comments! As Bob Dylan once said look into the firery furnis and see the rich man without any name.
@@uhjamesquakenbush1366 I agree. BUT most of the real artists, even within the artists you mentioned, do not like a big fame and do not care about money. Artists also like their privacy and total fame would have ruined some of them really. Peter Gabriel used to be kind of reserved, I always saw him as shy. Kate Bush was also and she said once that is she would have become more famous, he would have colapsed. Björk said money was boring, etc. There is a good side on them not being that exposed. They can live pretty normal lifes and we are sure that the people that like them are very few, so they are like treasures. Nothing wrong with being mainstream, but sometimes that kills a bit the magic of art. It always depends, well
I heard it took 7 recordings to get this song down on tape. It took all night and she wanted it to be perfect. It was hard on her voice but came out perfect! A great night and persistence on her part! What a masterpiece!
As a kid who grew up in the 90s, I was always enamored by her. She was a one of a kind artist with a one of a kind voice. I wish I had grown up in an earlier time. To this day, I'm still infatuated with her. This rendition is beautiful. Fitting for such a beautiful woman!
Jesus, how beautiful and powerful. I’ve always loved this song. I remember when MTV premiered the video, it was huge here in Oklahoma City. Wish I could return to these times and just stay there forever. 🙏🏾✌🏾
Hauntingly beautiful just like this, a fantastic piece of songwriting. Then Lindsey gets a hold of it and arranges it into a masterpiece. Then they perform it live (Largo '82, a must listen) and take it to even another level ! So cool to have access to 3 different stages of this wonderful song's life......
My cousin will be laid to rest this Sun. and her girl's had these word's put on her obit...I had almost forgotten how beautiful...my cousin will be looking on very proud of them...I miss her so ❤
This song, and more specifically this version of it, is the most intense physical reaction I've ever had to a song. I'm not lying when I say this changed my life. Thank you.
Very true. I really hope that they make up from whatever happened. I don't care about them working together anymore, we already got the best of them. But they were lovers and friends too, and I hope they are able to honor that before one of them dies...
Actually LB himself has stated this song is a great example of Fleetwood Mac's collaboration. So it would be more likely they all produced it to become what it is.
Lindsey is a mega talent and one of the best rhythm guitarists ever and Stevie is equally irreplaceable. Enough of the bull$hit, reunite this entire band now!
I love Stevie Nicks she's beautiful and no one could ever take her place. She just makes you feel free and I love the kind of person she is. God bless you Stevie.
It reminds me of how fleeting life is and how I reflect our loved ones in slow motion that we always miss the smaller details and take for granted. Love your parents and the elderly and listen to their stories.. Regret is a terrible thing
First time I heard this, it moved me to tears. I listened to in on repeat for too long to track the hours. One of the most beautiful things I have heard.
Wow! This just took my breath away. It’s been a while since having a good listen. This is what MUSEsic truly is; a rugged heart and the voice of an angel. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
This is mind blowing! Beyond the realms of human comprehension! I have always believed Stevie was created and put on this earth for a reason. A healer... someone who can touch the soul of so many with not even meeting them, or the lay of her hand on them. It is/was always her destiny! For many of us, there is an enigma about her, a fascination of sorts, that keeps us captivated and coming back for more of her. No matter her age, throughout the years theres always been the enchantment... the magic..... that is.... Stevie Nicks.
My grandma was born in 1899. My grandpa and her didn’t have much but she had good family and love. She once told me a story, she had lost a baby girl, she died tragically when she was 2 years of age. My grandma sank into a deep depression. One day a gypsy woman came to her door selling peg dolls dressed in lace. She scarcely had money to buy food for the family but she managed to get something to give to this woman, who in turn held her hand and said bless you, I see you with child, she will be healthy and you are going to love her like the one you lost. My grandma was distressed but comforted with this thought. Not long after my grandma found out she was with child and indeed she gave birth to a healthy baby girl. That was my mother. I love gypsies. And I love Stevie Nicks.💕
@@sirleroyjenkinnstrolling9364 LOL I should take your reply as an insult but instead you made me chuckle as the story is indeed true, it happened in a place called Craigengillan in Scotland where my grandpa was the gamekeeper for the estate and him and my grandma had a worker’s cottage on the estate 🍂
@sand You are totally awesome. Keep sharing your memories and never change the way you tell them ...I truly appreciate you replying back to my comment. Your friend Sir Leeerrroooyyy Jennkkiiinnnss
Utterly beautiful version Just gives you such a strong feeling, Its like that feeling of nostalgia for everything beautiful that ever was in your life but at the same time it inspires that feeling of hope and excitement for a future you dont know
God this is absolutely beautiful, She rocks my soul. I love her voice, her beautiful presence. Her music always soothes me and moves me like nothing or no one else. Hail Rock queen Stevie.
So I'm back to the velvet underground Back to the floor that I love To a room with some lace and paper flowers Back to the gypsy that I was To the gypsy that I was And it all comes down to you Well, you know that it does, well Lightning strikes maybe once, maybe twice Oh and it lights up the night And you see you're a gypsy You see you're a gypsy To the gypsy That remains Her face says freedom With a little fear I have no fear I have only love And if I was a child And the child was enough Enough for me to love Enough to love She is dancing away from you now She was just a wish She was just a wish And her memory is all that is left for you now You see you're a gypsy, oh You see you're a gypsy Ooh ooh, oh oh, oh oh oh Goodness strikes Maybe once, maybe twice And it all comes down to you Ooh oh, and it all comes down to you Lightning strikes Maybe once, maybe twice (oh) I still see your bright eyes, bright eyes (And it all comes down to you)
God this demo is divine! I literally can see Stevie standing in front of me right now!!!!! The light is dim in my room, almost dark as it is around one o'clock in the morning and I am bewitched by her voice and melody! 👤 my love for Stevie is stronger than strong, I bet she knows it, though we've never met... I've got so much to tell her...
I love this so much. 🎶💞 Thank you Stevie. Like many have said, and I too, feel the same. Dear Stevie, your life, and music, brought me through some tough times. I lived down the street from 'Silver Springs' in Scottsdale, Arizona. The gift shop you owned or your mother owned? But it was yours. This is where I met your mother, Barbara. It was during a time when I was grieving deeply. My younger brother Robert was murdered October 1984. Almost did me in. Took five years of my life to recover from that grief. I drew something for you in pencil ~ called: "STILLNESS". Because your songs brought me to that stillness when I listened to your music ... a calming understanding somehow. It was the Christmas of 1984 or 1985 that I walked into 'Silver Springs' shop and asked you mother if she would give this drawing, which I had wrapped like a scroll in a red ribbon, to you. She smiled and said: "yes ... " I bought a Sulamith Wülfing painting while there. I do hope you received it. Nice to know we are not alone and I love you dearly. Thank you for sharing your life story with us, in a manner of such honesty. 🎶💞
when you realize the power and talent of Stevie NIcks,..... when she can just light a candle, close the shades in her room, write and sing a song this good and and make it special. You understand how AND why she is the High Priestess of Rock N Roll......... God bless You Stevie !!! xoxoxo
This version is so touching, and incredibly authentic for a demo. I adore her oversaturated voice spike Reminds me of ever fleeting love, Dancing away from you
Love Stevie to death she's just a genius. I love how this demo displays how some brilliant songwriters can't play instruments very well but as long as you can get the rhythm and lyrics to work with your chords, you can leave that to the musicians and create a beautiful, timeless song such as this obviously Stevie's voice is the most integral part of the song.
Incredible never heard this demo nice , Mrs Stevie Nicks i cannot afford to see you in phoenix but your voice is incredible Thankyou for your songs & music ..
I really do just want her to sing me this song. I've never seen her live and that is one thing on my top 10 bucket list. That voice alone got me through so much. Stevie you are My Bright Eyes in the Dark.
Wow... Stevie had so much figured out before the band even got a hold of this one. It is really neat to hear the original idea like this. Thank you for the upload!
Her beauty and magical spirit! "THE" Rock Goddess of our millennia. Irreplaceable! The original and one and only. Never was before and never will be again. Always copied but never duplicated. "The Queen of Rock and Beauty". We love you, Stevie! Grace at it's finest!
Dang, she should have released this version along with the fully produced version. This is just pure art in its most natural form. From apprehension, to full on confidence in her ability. Just powerful stuff.
I love this version, she is a loving woman, and I love her honesty, and rawness, she is is true beauty. Love you Stevie you are on in a gazillion, a true classic.
Ok, I thought I was dancing on a cloud listening to this on a record as a child back in the day and now hearing this today as a demo makes me feel the same. Forever in love.
I always loved stevie and im only 35 ahs definately brings her up more for me. When im practicing i like to listen to her. She gets me more in the mood
This sounds like Stevie late at night, in the dark, in her living room with her keyboard. I was mesmerized by the purity of just chords and her voice. The Gypsy video has always been my favorite, but this version just takes that song to a whole new level.
OMG this is far far FAR more beautiful than the band's version. This brings you to tears, it's so beautiful & the lyrics really have the space they need to be heard & appreciated. In this version THE STORY really leaves you happy & aching at the same time. I really had no idea THIS is what Stevie Nicks was bringing to the band. I actually find this version much more impactful that the final product from Fleetwood Mac. What a revelation this demo is. I'm off to try to track down more of these demos.
No way, not even close. This version lacks any solid chord progression, and the chords Nicks chooses here don't sound as good as the final. The melody is barely there and just kind of winds all over the place. It's a heartfelt performance, but this would have never become a hit on its own. Christine and Buckingham were the ones that could write a clean, well-structured song, and Buckingham reportedly took a lot of songwriting principles from the Beatles. They really improved this flimsy concept.
