@@JM-be1xm Before Christine joined Fleetwood Mac, she was Christine Perfect and in the band "Chicken Shack". She was singing mostly blues, but she has always been special....
This song is from their 1986 album "Tango in the Night" much later from their early mid 1970s Albums "Rumours"and "Tusk" but this album is still genius.
@@sofia01ht me too!! Lyndsey’s guitar work in this song is epic and extraordinarily beautiful. And the end solo is just not long enough at all. Also wish it lasted 5 minutes (or longer).
Man, thank you so much for reacting to my suggestion. I'm glad you enjoyed it. You should check out Stand Back by Stevie Nicks. She had Prince play the synthesizers on that one and it was a dance hit in 1983. Such a classic that Fleetwood Mac added Stand Back to their own setlist starting in 1987.
Yeah Prince definitely did her a solid on that one!! For one that he was cool with her pretty much copying little red corvette and for two helping her out on top of it! What a class act.
@@NuCkInFuTs1 Stand Back just borrowed the framework and structure of Little Red Corvette, but it really is it's own thing. You can definitely hear Prince's trademark sound on it. However you'd really have to play both songs at the same time to see where the similarities are. Prince had said in an interview on Larry King that Fleetwood Mac was one of his musical influences, to which he had many, but he had been a fan of theirs for a long time.
@@NuCkInFuTs1 Don't forget The Green Manalishi (With The Two-Pronged Crown) - Peter Green's Fleetwod Mac was so different but equally magic. Too bad that they have been forgotten almost completely
You recognise that instrumental as they was inspired by 1985s rocky 4 soundtrack, if you listen now again, you'll know which song from the movie it is.
Thats one BIG set, Stevie looks beautiful, Big Sister Christine is majestic, Mick is mad but measured, Lindsey is incredible and John is the bomb on that bassline which changes in the interlude so brilliantly.......The whole thing is so unique and NOBODY CAN TURN AROUND LIKE MISS NICKS !
That sound is just a certain sound from the keyboard. "Dreams" is my favorite Fleetwood Mac song, but Stevie's voice is absolutely excellently showcased in this one.
Thanks for doing that. Loved that band when I was young. The white album started charting when I was 10, the first album with that incarnation, just as I was discovering music for myself. Mirage came out my senior year. This album I was 22 and it was 10 years after rumours, I loved it. Much love, oh the sweet bird of youth.....
Love your channel, just found it tonight. I hate thinking about how many young people (59 myself) have never been exposed to the amazing music produced from the 60s to the 90s.
It's Christine McVee on her synthesizer. [yamaha DX-7] She didn't get much video time on this song. She is vocals/keyboard. Also, it appears they sang this song at least 3 times to make this vid. Stevie is in 3 different outfits in this song. Along with other band members changing.
Omg!!!! I was waiting for you to react to this song. I think its one of my favourite songs by fleetwood mac. This song blew my mind when i heard it years ago.
😐🤨 seriously, like a totally popular song of theirs ? Rabid may be a bit ... much , and it's on classic rock radio stations for like since its release, fan maybe , all you have to do is google their catalogue of song titles, it's in there ! ✌
it got some airplay but not like the other songs and didn't chart as high. I'm not surprised you haven't heard it, I only discovered it a couple yrs ago and have just a faint memory of it myself.
Stevie is amazing. Lindsey (guitar player) has an amazingly unique voice too. And Christine has a beautiful voice as well. All their voices blend so beautifully together. Love this band
7:30 The "violin-ish" sound is Lindsey on a guitar, playing through a distortion pedal. He overdubbed that with another guitar to get the twangy sound. The chimey piano is Christie on the keyboard. Remember, Lindsey likes to experiment with sounds. That's what you're hearing.
A similar, but different sound was created by Christie's keyboard at the beginning of the song "Tell Me Lies", from the same album. You should check it out.
You're so right about Stevie. I been listening to her since the 70's and I still get mesmerized listening to her and just can't take my eyes off her when she's on stage.
Storms, Rhiannon, Edge of Seventeen, Everywhere, Don't Stop, Leather and Lace, Dreams, GOLD DUST WOMAN (MY FAVORITE), Talk to Me, and so many more............
You should react to silver springs live. Her emotions and vocals are just mesmerizing and almost shocking. BUT I’m still insisting that you should react to Rhiannon live midnight special 1976! Amazing vocals, GUITAR SOLO, the bass 🔥 no no man, PPPPLLEAAAAASSSEEeeeee 🌚
I felt the pain of Lindsey Buckingham in this song... The "what if.." if he and Stevie had stayed on their own and not had all the crap that tore them apart.
Lindsay should have kept his hands to himself instead of hammering them into the body of the woman he claimed to love. If you could call what he had for Stevie "love", he loved her in the worst kind of way...... So glad Stevie eventually blew the lid off the powder keg that was once a sick relationship the truth of which that she tried, in vain, to keep hidden. Not a personal attack or dig, by the way, just a comment.
Have your reacted to the 1976 Midnight Special live performance of Rhiannon? Others to put on the list are Sara, Tusk, Sister Of The Moon, and Silver Springs.
Christine Perfect is an underrated keyboardist and songwriter. When Christine is doing the lead vocals on a song, you will see Stevie Nicks banging on a tambourine and spinning around in circles when she is not doing her backup vocals.
Hey glad to see plan on doing more Fleetwood! Another great song Stevie wrote was Silver Springs, she wrote it back in the mid 70's Rumours album days and she really pushed to get it onto Rumours but there was no more space for it so it never made it onto the album but it was a B-Side to the single Go Your Own Way and a live version was released as a single on the 1997 album The Dance. Its another song about her break up with Lindsey.
Christine made the sound with her keyboard. She sings lead on some songs too. Try "(Tell Me) Lies", "You Make Loving Fun", or "Over My Head" to start with.
FM had three strong singer songwriters but Stevie’s songs are the ones that always resonate with me the most. Her songwriting and her vocals are incredibly distinctive. As great as FM’s album cuts and videos are their live performances are on a whole other level. Check out the 1976 performance of “Rhiannon” on the Midnight Special and “Sisters of the Moon” from the Mirage tour in ‘82 at the Forum. Explains Mick Fleetwood’s jokes about Stevie performing on stage exorcisms.
Your right, there is no bad fleetwood Mac song! I absolutely adore Stevie nick’s and her voice is amazing! My favourite fleetwood Mac song has to be ‘Sara’ Her voice is beautiful! Also watch the live St. Louis version of ‘Angel’ Another quality performance from Stevie! ❤️
I couldn't resist coming back and suggesting, if you wanted to see what Fleetwood mac was like in concert, check out Sisters of the Moon 82 Mirage Tour.
Silver Springs, Stevie wrote it back in the Rumours days and tried to get it on the Rumours album but they had no room for it so it never made it onto the album. It was however a B-Side to the single Go Your Own Way and a live version was released as a single on the 1997 album The Dance.
I got to see them live in 2014 and it was this full line (with Christine McVie - who had left for a number of years). Stevie Nicks is a fantastic singer and had a great solo career as well. Lyndsey Buckingham (the guitarist) also had a pretty good solo career. Great live performers.
For the guy that wants to hear Hypnotized, I second that one. It's an incredibly trippy song and its Fleetwood Mac pre Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. At that point, Bob Welch was the lead guitarist and singer in Fleetwood Mac.
Stevie does her voice justice on Blue Lamp from the Heavy Metal movie soundtrack. My personal favorite she did was Beautiful Child (studio version) from the FM album Tusk.
Fleetwood Mac has been at the top of almost anyone's favorite list since they began! One interesting thing about Stevie Nicks is that she only wears black or white clothes, on and off stage. She has always been unique. Love her and the whole group! 🎶🎵🎧😎🎶🎵🤟👍
The instrument you heard is a synthesizer; played by the amazing Christine McVie. That synth sound was huge in the 80’s. But Fleetwood Mac and Christine really utilized it perfectly and never overdid it. This song still gives me chills every time I hear it. Was awesome watching you enjoy it. SONG REQUEST FLEETWOOD MAC-Tango In The Night- It’s more of a hidden gem. But it’s INCREDIBLE. Like almost all their songs. But this wasn’t one of their huge hits or a single. Yet it’s really amazing.
I'm just gonna keep commenting about Silver Springs until you do it. Stevie and Lindsey were together when they joined Fleetwood Mac but broke up during the recording of Rumours. The songs on that album are about each other, but to be honest they continued to write songs about each other for over 40 years. The tension in the Silver Springs vid (from The Dance) is so iconic.
There is a Fleetwood Mac video on you tube from the very early days before the girls joined the group called I`ve got a mind to give up living. This song may have the best guitar solo ever recorded. The guitarist is Peter Green who before he freaked out on LSD was considered the best blues guitarist to come out of the U.K.
Prediction before you start. You will love this move completely. Again Christine Mc Vie playing the synthesizer and putting her special touch one the song. Please remember that she is the other female singer in the group. She too has great talent. Please give a listen to Hold Me and watch the video it's very artistic. I know you will like it.
Loooooove this and the instrumentals too!! I also hear the wood block too. They’re so talented. Little Lies and Big Love are my favorites... from this album along with this song. (Tango in the Night) I enjoyed watching you jam out!
You should react to Rhiannon live midnight special 1976! I promise you will not be disappointed because the whole band takes it to a climax and it’s just ugh so amazing, but if you love her voice then, I highly recommend this performance. 🔥
