They were in Lacrosse, Wisconsin on September 3, 1975.
It was one of the first in concert introductions Stevie Nicks & Lindsey Buckingham to the group's live environment.
Tracklist:
00:00 - Station Man
06:14 - Spare Me a Little (Of Your Love)
11:05 - Rhiannon
17:45 - Don't Give Up (Why)
21:56 - Landslide
25:35 - Over My Head
28:41 - I'm So Afraid
33:44 - Don't Ask Me (Oh Well)
36:42 - Creeping (Green Manalishi)
42:28 - World Turning
51:09 - Blue Letter
55:08 - Hypnotized
"Don't Give Up" is actually the classic Christine McVie song.
"Why", "Don't Ask Me" is actually the Peter Green written song.
"Oh Well" sung by Lindsey Buckingham & finally the song listed as "Creepin'" is in fact another Peter Green song "Green Manalishi".
"Station Man" was written by Danny Kirwan, Spencer and John McVie.
"Spare Me a Little of Your Love", "Over My Head" is also ones of C. McVie songs.
"World Turning" was written by Buckingham and C. McVie.
"I'm So Afraid" written by Buckingham.
"Hypnotized" by Welch.
"Rhiannon" and "Landslide" are songs written by Stevie Nicks.
"Blue Letter" is a song written by Michael Curtis and Richard Curtis that was first released by Fleetwood Mac on their 1975 album Fleetwood Mac. It was also released as a single in Japan with "Say You Love Me". Fleetwood Mac performed "Blue Letter" on every tour for 1975-1990. It was the only song on the album not written by a band member.

OMG!! This could be the freshest version of the new band - one of their early shows after they brought in Lindsay and Stevie. This is a very special recording.

Buckingham and Nicks were very popular in Alabama during the early 70's. Their album on Polydor is a classic, when those of us in Huntsville who knew about the band, heard that Lindsay and Stevie were joining up with Mick, John and Christine, we all knew a super group had just been formed. My personal connection with Lindsay's music goes back to the Summer of 1965, but that's another story.

Love Rumours album. Listened to it constantly. I attended the 1979 Tusk tour in Cleveland Ohio at the Cavaliers Richland Colliseum. A couple of songs from that location made the LIVE album. It was my first concert and it was on a school night. We got home at 2:00 AM and our parents made us go to school. I got through the day on pure adrenaline wearing my Fleetwood Mac concert t shirt. We were the coolest kids in school that day 😎🎶🎼🎵🎤Best concert ever! 👏👏💕💕⚡️🎶⚡️

I love to hear the band at this relatively early stage in the tenure of Buckingham and Nicks. By this time, fall 1975, the band's self-titled album had been out for two months and was selling strongly, but the material for their forthcoming smash hit Rumours (1977) was not yet written, so they were still relying on older staples of the band's previous records from Peter Green, Bob Welch and Danny Kirwan for their live set list. Love it love it love it.

Oh Well & World Turning, both Peter Green songs were included in their concerts up through 2019. The songs for rumours were already being written & they were in Rumours recording sessions before the white album became a hit because it grew very slowly. It was big news in the studio when they heard that over my head, the first single, had entered the top 20. FM had never charted that high before in the US.

@@noahhenson1669 Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac released "Fleetwood Mac" album on 2/24/68 containing the song, "World Keep on Turning" written by Peter Green. In 1975, Christine McVie & Lindsey Buckingham reworked the song, and released it as World Turning. Additional older Fleetwood Mac songs made it into the set lists for later tours including, Peter Green's: "I loved another woman" "rattlesnake shake" "black magic woman" & "man of the world." Danny Kirwin's: "Tell me all the things you do." and Bob Welch's "Hypnotized."
@noahhenson1669
@noahhenson1669 Год назад
@@silvermoontearoom7123 Green's "World Keep on Turning" is 12-bar blues with lyrics about a girl he loves: "I need her like sky needs the sun". It's in 6/8 time. "World Turning" is in 4/4, is not a blues progression, and does not share the same lyrics: "Everybody's got me down/I gotta get my feet back on the ground". I'm aware that Mick Fleetwood claims that the band "reworked" Green's song, but he is simply mistaken as the two songs share nothing in common.

GREEN MANALISHI!!! Wow,Lindsey pulls it off! Oh Well too. Very impressive. No small wonder that they always need 2 guys to replace Lindsey whenever he leaves the group. He is extraordinarily talented,but he and Stevie need to stay away from each other. I think she really loves him and vice-versa, but they're toxic together and always will be. As fans and lovers of them and their music, we must recognize that though exceptionally gifted in one area,it doesn't mean that they're not going to be great in other aspects of their lives. Geniuses are hard to live with and difficult to be around.I love them both, I have their stuff to listen to. I thank them for providing me a huge part of the soundtrack to my life when I was my highest and best self, (1976-77-78). And that will have to be enough. Nothing lasts forever.

Il cantante originale di "Hypnotized", Bob Welch, lasciò la band nel dicembre 1974. Lindsay Buckingham e Stevie Nicks si unirono ai Fleetwood Mac New Years Eve 1975 ed è per questo che sembra una copertina.

I mixed monitors for this, my tape that I made off my radio says the 23rd but the station manager insists it was aired the second Sunday after we recorded it which would make it the 21st. Honestly we need to find another neutral party with a dated cassette. The bands road manager took the multi track to New York and mixed it somewhere in the city then mailed us (overnighted) the 2 track and we played it that Sunday. The actual 16 track is gone, they took it.... the station was forced to overnight its 2 track back the next morning so hard proof of date is rather hard to come by. :)

Holy moly what a performance on Rhiannon! societyofrock.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/GettyImages-85000955-1024x685.jpg This is indeed a pre-recorded show for broadcast. Wonder if the original mastertapes are still in shape and laying at Trodd Nossel Studios and will ever be released. As a soundengineer I would sell a kidney to do a full remaster of this! I wonder about the date though. In September 1975 they were on tour, driving from city to city - couldn't afford to fly yet. Sep 20 they played West Lafayette, Indiana . Sep 23 they played La Crosse, Wisconsin. Indiana to Connecticut to Wisconsin is a 2,000 mile trip - I really don't think they'd do that just to rehearse in the middle of their tour. Although I see "Kevin G" in the comments below worked that session, and says the tape he made is dated 23rd, but according to his manager the date would have been the 21st. They did have two open days Sep 21/22, so maybe they did fly to Connecticut to make a recording for radio. They played New Haven, CT Oct 20, and Storrs, CT Oct 25, so I strongly suspect this date is really Oct 23, and that it wasn't a "rehearsal".

Why was written by Christine McVie for the Mystery To Me L.P. in 1973. It wasn't a Peter Green composition. Its my favorite C. McVie Fleetwood Mac composition but I am not all that fond of the studio version. found the strings to be completely unnecessary and rather annoying. This live version is just about the best I have ever heard.

I love Stevie A LOT, but for me she ruined Hypnotized. Just sounded so wrong. Lindsey doesn't have that magic that Welch brought to his songs. Lindsey is amazing but too intense... Welch was more welcoming, embraced you into his music, lured you in instead of dragging you. Still, Lindsey did a decent job.

part of the reason buckingham didn't go on this last tour, (its rumoured) that he didn't want to play pre nicks/buck songs. with the possibility of this being the last, Mick wanted to pay tribute to some the past players, sort of 'the history of fleetwood mac' tour.......buckingham didn't want to do the old songs, talk about ungrateful, they started out doing songs of the earlier bands when nicks/buck joined. I suggested that they invite any past surviving players to come and do a song or two . the rolling stones did it, eagles, etc.......I think mick like the idea............in the end it's a money grab for fleetwood as it's the only way he really makes money is touring

Stevie fired Lindsey and nobody else had the balls to stand up, so now FM is a Crowded House/Petty (and Lindsey Buckingham) cover band. FM is through now but Lindsey will still create new music.
@KristinaDeak-Linsner
@KristinaDeak-Linsner 4 года назад
@@angel-mk8il The story Lindsay tells is that he was fired for "smirking" at Stevie during an awards ceremony. I think it goes far beyond smirking though. Lindsay is a mystery to me. I don't know how someone so progressive in '74, ("If you hire me you'll have to also hire my girlfriend") could go back and forth with his abusiveness. Take for example the photo on BuckinghamNicks. Stevie didn't want to go topless and he literally pressured her into it. Then there was the guitar he hurled at her head at the end of a gig. Then the time he literally was choking her on the hood of a car and had to get pulled off. You can't deny that sort of behavior. He was behaving himself for a long time but I bet Stevie KNOWS the cycle of abuse and how it begins after this long dealing with it. There comes a time when for over 45+ years you just cannot handle it anymore. There is a lot more behind that story that we may never know about. I am with you on his talent, there is no mistaking that. But abusive behavior is nothing that can be fixed at his age. I admire Lindsay's talent and always will. So I thought long and hard about their decision to can him. And I thought it MUST have been something really big, or else on the cusp of it. I think Stevie may be a bit of a Diva, sure...but she (if anyone) can completely tell when the cycle of abuse is starting again. I don't blame her at her age for not wanting to deal with it any longer, despite their great musical chemistry.

@AzRoadRunner78
@AzRoadRunner78 3 года назад
@@KristinaDeak-Linsner I can totally see this about Lindsey’s abuse. Carol Ann Harris talked in depth about his abuse towards her in her book “Storms: My Life With Lindsey Buckingham And Fleetwood Mac.” I’m sure Lindsey was abusive towards Stevie too, which is probably a big factor of why she ended their relationship. She probably knew she financially didn’t need him anymore snd that the band wasn’t about to drop her since she was quickly becoming the cash cow. So yeah, I think it goes beyond just the smirk at the AmeriCares awards performance.
