CUPS MENTIONED Saalt Soft Cup: bit.ly/2JKbsOr Flex Cup: bit.ly/2JKailQ DISCLAIMER: I have nothing to disclaim or exclaim or even claim aside from period cups 4 lyf
I can only imagine what it was like explaining to the stiff, serious boarder patrol folks that you were bringing menstrual cups into Canada! If only I was a fly inside your car! Hahaa 💛
My Bluetooth headphones died during this cupdate, and the audio jumped right on "no one will be pulling that out of their vagina like that" in the office, so I guess I'll be looking for a new job to fund my new period cup. ktnx
I used the soft salt cup after your last video and ya girl got it stuck up there for 24 hours, panicked, and had to go to the ER to get it taken out and of course it was a SUPER hot young doctor that was on call. It made a horrifying popping sound as he pulled it out, and I almost passed out. 😂
I’m sorry for that awful experience... but I’m wheezing from laughing at this comment. I thought I was the only person with this kind of horrifically bad luck.
We have different regulations in Canada apparently and Saalt is working on being able to ship to us. In the mean time though you can order them from a website called Revovle. If you use the app you get 15% off. Mine is coming today 😊
Am I too squeamish and straight up scared to ever try a vag cup: YES Am I gonna let that stop me from watching 16 minutes of Sam reviewing vag cups: ABSOLUTELY NOT!
I was similar to you before, but my guilt around the environmental damage of single use tampons forced me to try the menstrual cup fully expecting to hate it. As it turns out, I love the cup! It sounds ridiculous, but I feel so much more in tune with my body now. The process of learning how to insert/remove the cup really taught me more about myself. I moved pass a lot of shame around my vagina, and I even feel more confident sexually. It’s crazy.
Hey Sam I’ve been using the flex and i love it! I have a suggestion, when I first got it I too was trying to fold the cup where the stick part comes out and it was NOT comfortable. I’ve found if you fold it on the soft side where there’s no extra bulk it is WAY easier. Also shower insertion and removal is a game changer. Thoroughly have enjoyed this series💖
I loved the cupping journey and feel this was the perfect place for it to culminate and I commend you for not continuing for the sake of consumerism after you found the one(s) that work for you
I love that more people are talking about cups and it’s becoming more mainstream! I recently went from someone who was completely horrified and disgusted at the idea when the Diva cup first came out to now having gone 3 full cycles not using a single disposable product. It’s been life changing: little to no cramping, no more tampon irritation and way less leaks and I love that I’m cutting down on waste. I’m so much more comfortable now on my period.
I discover it last Nov 2022 and furst time using it on December 2022. Second month using MC rn. I am really mad why I don't even know about this long time ago. I tell it to my family who are basically women too and they didn't know about it and was making weird reaction. I able to explain but yeah I should try again next time. I never meet someone here, even fellow classmates or friends using menstrual cups. It is frustrating how school doesn't even educate young women about these and specially about menstruation here.
Lmfao I’m loving this series tho. I know it’s so weird but I bought the flex cup and when you said you were reviewing I got excited. Let me be clear: I got excited over a video over shared experiences with sanitary products.
I do! But it’s harder to put in like Sam said. Because it’s softer, it tries to bend on me instead of going in straight like the diva cup does. But coming out? Chefs kiss.
Haven’t had a period since I got pregnant feb 2018 . Started watching when I woke up, went to the washroom 6 minutes in and guess who just made an appearance after over a year??? 😩 THANKS SAM LOL 😂
I bought this flex cup and LOVE IT! The grab loop and fact that you can adjust how far it sticks out was my life saver. Prior I tried diva cup. The stem was so uncomfortable so I saw some ppl saying you could trim it. But once I trimmed it I literally could not get it out! Freaked out, get like I was gonna pass out..... had to calm myself enough to strategically get it out. I was pretty mortified and done with cups at that point until I saw this one in Target. Gave it a go and had no issues 👌🏼 I think I’ve officially found my cup 😂
Bought the Saalt soft cup after watching this. The first couple of days I had so much trouble removing it... I got the small size and was like “wtf where did it go?!” And I have tiny hands for an adult so was worried it would have to stay up there forever. But I read some stuff online about the magic of pelvic floor muscles and can’t explain how much easier pushing the muscles down make it to remove. Just a PSA for anyone struggling to remove... first cup period complete!!
This series has been everything!! Your casual, real approach has been informative and made me laugh a few times. Thank you, during these videos I converted and it’s been the best choice.
Yesssssss I commented on your saalt video yesterday saying I needed a new cupdate! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 I’m completely obsessed with menstrual cups. They’re just so amazing!
I just finished month 2 with my diva cup thanks to you. I would have never branched out and tried one if you didn’t take the time to review. Thanks a million. My life has forever been changed for the better. The cup has saved my scrub bottoms at least 3 times already. (Here’s to working in surgery and being scrubbed in for hours on end with no bathroom break). ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hyla Sorenson there is no going back! I love them. Also, my period has gotten lighter since switching from tampons. Something about not having chemicals from the tampons in your lady bits. I can’t believe it!
MsButterFlySting80 😂😂 I didn’t even noticed that’s what it said. Demonetized is what she meant. The first one or two Sam did on menstrual cups got demonitized 😂
@@melsue1026 oh I see, I thought for a second she was doing this as an 'in defense series.' As if the product was something like a popular yet bad for you or values. If I'm making any sense.
Your last cupdate inspired me to order the salt soft cup and I've been using it for 2 cycles. I had nails the second time and it worked fine. THANK YOU for starting this series, it's so frustrating that period products are met with embarrassment so no one ever talks about options! Now I get to feel a little smug every time I have my period because I'm doing my part to save the entire planet. It's like my bloody little contribution to the future.
I’m so glad your doing these reviews ! For people like myself , on the fence and unsure which one to try this is AO HELPFUL ! I totally appreciate your willingness to be so open and honest with us about this topic ! & don’t your dare end the Cupdates !!!! At least give us cup updates
My 13 year old niece & I have watched your videos on these cups together. She hasn’t started hers yet but I want her to be able to choose which option she thinks will best suit her. She really enjoyed your humour and how you explained your experience. Thank you for doing this! Much love from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦❤️
I feel like even if you bought a new cup every single cycle, it's still exponentially less waste than tampons. I mean, I would go through 15-20 tampons per period!! So I think it's okay to try a few and still be reducing environmental impact. These videos are great, Sam! I've been afraid to try cups, but wanting to for so long and you got me started!
The fact that there isn't a playlist on your channel of this series is truly a disservice for what is some of my favourite youtube content I've ever watched.
I LIVE for these videos of yours!!! You put a bug in my ear about menstrual cups and I bought the pink saalt cup (didn’t work, all the leaks!) bought the blue Saalt cup and found magic (at least so far). I totally understand the band wagon and more women should talk about the fact that they use one cause meeting someone in person who uses one is what made me make the switch
FOR ANYONE WITH HEAVY PERIODS If you struggle with cups because you have to empty it in public restrooms a lot, but still want to use cups for the environment, I highly suggest the tulip stem cup. It has a valve that you squeeze and the blood comes out. It doesn’t leak, your hands don’t get bloody, and the blood empties in like 10-20 seconds.
I’ve wanted to get a menstrual cup for years, but was scared. I’ve been subscribed to saalt cup for emails since this video. Finally ordered the soft Saalt duo, small and regular sizes, right after my period last month. Started spotting today. I did a quick google search to see if it was ok to wear a cup for just spotting. I hadn’t thought of that before. All I read said it was ok, so in went the small. I’m already very happy. Should have done this ages ago. Thank you, Samantha. Would have continued to be too afraid without you.
Thank you for doing these reviews, Sam! They’ve really helped me. And I bet there’s a lot of women who have converted to cups because of these videos, thus cutting down on waste. So even if you do one day want to continue reviewing different cups, I think the amount of people converting to cups because of you will balance out the minimal amount of waste you are creating by buying new cups by FAR! 🖤
I've been using the Diva cup for almost 3 years now and honestly, my best advice to anyone starting out would be to practice taking it out while you're taking a shower. The first time I ever used my Diva cup and it was finally time to take it out, it slipped out of my fingers and fell on the floor........LOL but you slowly get the hang of it and I've never had issues since. God bless the cup honestly
Thank you for doing this one, no one i know would use these products so I was very unsure about them so after watching this i was a little braver and have brought a cup from our local, they are not as readily available in Australia yet, it not great but its a great introduction and life changer so thank you thank you thank you I’m so grateful
Got the Soft Saalt Cup right before my vacay last week to St. Thomas, used it for the first time, and love it. I agree. Better than the original Saalt. Thanks Sam :)
I used the cup the last 3 yrs getting my period. Love them. Had a complete hysterectomy in Jan. Will never have another period again and still watch these because the way you review them...so honest and realistically, is hilarious.
You’re so awkward about these videos and we fucking love you for it 😂 I love makeup videos but this is the best thing. Watching all the ads to make sure you get paid for informing me AND making me laugh so hard.
I loved this series. I have been so nervous and curious about trying a cup but after watching all your reviews you’ve really calmed my nervous, answered all my questions and concerns and got me really excited to try one. There also wasn’t one video where I did not laugh. Love how open and honest you are! Thank you 😘
Hi dear. I love your makeup videos but because of your period cup review video of diva cup, i switched last month from pads to period cup. I got ultima cup which is what I get in Paris, France. First time and loved it over pads. Never going back to pads. Thanks.again. I did it coz I was confident to give it a try after watching.your video
You need a lit trophy case in your living room to display all your cups. It would be a great conversation starter. Not a good conversation, but a conversation starter nonetheless!
Yessss Sam. I just like listened to the two most recent approachable episodes and they were amazing. Love all your content. You’re really doing such a great job
Fart Breaker it doesn’t shoot out. Hahaha. Also, there probably won’t be enough blood to spill anything. Trust me, it won’t spill unless you turn it upside down.
I just started using a flex cup and it is the first cup I've ever tried. When you pull the little pull lever thing, you can control the speed of how fast it will come out. if you relax and pull it until you start to feel the cup coming out, you use your muscles to sort of hold the position and grab it comfortably from the bottom, release your muscles and then just continue to pull it out slowly. It doesn't shoot out at all unless you have a really heavy flow and it was overflowing. in which case, it is more a matter of knowing your body and cycle and knowing when you need to remove it. Otherwise, it comes out nice and easy. It also doesn't leak from the pully or through the hole at the bottom and the material and pully fit snug. Usually, the pully is quite clean and no mess when removing.
@@SimplyBreana do you still prefer this? I took the quiz and the results were to use the saalt cup, but I have used the flex disc and I really liked it. But I'm torn!
Let’s get Samantha to a million subscribers, not only does she have great content, the girl makes me laugh, great personality and she says how it is, love her ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@xtayalex it took me a couple months, then after that just some spotting for a few more. Almost a year later and no period, spotting, cramps, nothing 💕
god bless you. My flex cup just came in the mail and I'm patiently waiting for my period.... never did i ever think those were words that I would share with the internet...
Try the Tampax cup!! You can buy it in Canada (Walmart) and it was my first time trying any menstrual cup! And I loved it! Also has a great carrying case! I actually have a very bad video on my channel about it 😂😅xo
I love love love my Lunette cup and I never regret to tried it! After around 3 years of using it, I lost almost all the pain and I bleed shorter (almost 2 days less then with tampons). I took the advices from pro's which cup could be for me and the first fit perfectly.
I just tried a cup for the first time and I didn't know about the release the suction thing, so I just pulled it out. It felt like I pulled out all of my organs. 😭
During this saga I have found out that I'm pregnant, and therefore none of this is pertinent. However, I am now invested in the CupDates ans the Cup Hunger Games, so I am still hanging on every word.
