My first exposure with Flex was in the Young Animal Doom Patrol run. That's another series that has a lot of metatextual fun. I'll have to check this one out. If it's Morrison and Quietly it's gotta be good :v)

You bet it is. I read the first volume of the Young Animal Doom Patrol run and it's pretty solid. Dare I say, it's even more bizarre than some of Morrison's arcs. Flex is a bit under-utilized in it, but it was still nice to see him make an appearance. His solo mini-series is just on a whole 'nother level. Or possibly plain of existence.

I Love grant Morrison's Doom Patrol and honestly Flex's story here had me scratching my head when i was younger, I'm happy to see it made clearer and this seems like a solid channel!

I might of asked before but do you guys ever pick up and read any small press indie comics? I spent many years reading lots of Marvel, 2000AD and a bit of DC but over the last few years I've really diversified what I was picking up. Also helped that I discovered a convention that was entirely dedicated to comics, rather than the pop culture they have spawned. It was there I picked up coldest city, the Graphic novel that later became the film Atomic blonde.

While we both love a good superhero book from the big two, I think we also gravitate more toward indie publishers and creator-owned books as a personal preference. Image, Dark Horse, and Vertigo are probably our top labels, with the occasional dip into publishers like Avatar, Top Shelf, IDW, Valiant, Aftershock, and a couple others. Lots of good stuff out there.

"Children have dreams ." Thank f*ck for finally getting the TPB--my original issues were just about read to death! BTW: Tom McCraw's original color work was far more vibrant than the muddied-up reprint. Grant kicked open the doors of belief and disbelief in both heroes and ourselves, reminding us of the magic found in the creation of each. "Prepare to become Fictional." 🖖♾ ps: "Dreams have children."
