So they've taken a simple concept that could be implemented within an open standard like zigbee and made it so you need web hooks and a hub to almost be able to use it... I feel we should not support companies that think this way. Big no...😮
I was thinking the same thing. And probably cheaper too. Yes, they're small, but don't necessarily see a benefit in that. Also, if you want multiple "options" - the 4 scene switch would be perfect for that older person requesting help in the bathroom.
Great video. Still waiting for the delivery of my ordered (backed) FlicTwist, while using 4 Flic2-buttons for a few years now. And you are right about the hidden-functionality of the buttons; i even tried a very small 'shortlist' for each button to show its functionality. In the real life my family only uses 1 button with only the click-once. The rest is up to me to give some specific commands to the HomeAutomation(HA). ...and i think that will be 'worse' with the FlicTwist Looking forward to see a lot of your ideas what is possible with the FlicTwist
1:08 - Can I ask about that low-battery notification thing? That looks pretty useful, and I wouldn’t mind implementing that in my Home Assistant instance.
I know right?! I saw that and though, "oooh, that looks interesting. That's the _right_ place for that notification." Time to do some research. If Jeff doesn't answer, I'll see if I can find out.
Yeah. It's going to be in the next template video. I'm trying to get that done this weekend. And yea. Jarvis tells me how many in the morning and sends the notification to the notification panel.
I'll stick with my DIY buttons and rotary encoders to do what flic does and a lot more. Oh and instead of paying pre order price of 83 USD i pay around 15 USD for the parts to make mine. I admit it doesn't look as nice as this one but it works and IMO it works better then the twist based on your and everything smart homes reviews
Not ready for prime time. Missing all the major integrations, expensive and two years late. No hubs. Promised a lot., delivered little. SDK does not work with MQtt. Stay honest.
That's the benefit of coming to these late. I missed all the promises. I haven't had a chance to try the SDK. As mentioned it won't connect to my mini hub. Was hoping the Ethernet one would work. Sounds like maybe not.
@@SlackerLabs - mini hub doesn't have SDK support according to Flic... I was a backer 2 years ago and while product looked revolutionary at the time, 2 years is long time and things change. Nothing against BT devices but support for other integrations is very limited ATM.
