They are if you go on Garmin website there are some prices listed but if it were aftermarket I’d estimate 100.000-170.000 for the displays and integrated avionics then another 80.000-130.000 for the non integrated plus roughly 100.000 for the install
Ok I'm in love, listening to her explain the controls of your helicopter had me glued to the video, thank you I would fly with her anytime. I'm now a subscriber.
The helicopter tail number is written in the cockpit, top right, above the artificial horizon. If you blur it out at the beginning of the video you should do it there as well.
He’s only moderately careful about hiding his employer’s info, but I think he’s said before he’s not that concerned about it. He just doesn’t want it to be obvious but isn’t going to meticulously comb through and redact everything.
Anthony is right. I only really care about not making my affiliations obvious for trolls. There are a ton of videos that give me away (if a red helicopter and grey uniform aren’t enough on their own lol)
I thought the dual Garmins were especially sweet. The GTN 650 is already very powerful, so having that with the 750 would be a dream. Those gps panels are some of the biggest SA builders you can have in the cockpit. Being able to have it do power calculations like hige/hoge and w+b is also pretty awesome. People may not realize but altitude and atmospheric conditions have a huge effect on rotary wing. No helicopter "likes" being at 5000ft. Idk what the civilian pathway to doing this looks like (well actually you probably just go get your commercial and build some hours), but I will say there are an awful lot of reservists who are air ambulance pilots.
People will never understand how much SA it takes to fly, especially single pilot! As my IP would say, “that’s why you can’t learn this shit by watching youtube”
Very good video for people looking at this as a new career. I know Mercy Air here in Nevada they are always looking for qualified pilots. Thanks Sam 👏🍦🍪
Well done, always appreciate your content. I’m interested in a presentation on the history and current use of NVGs in the HEMS environment. Also compare and contrast to the NVGs commonly in use by LE.
Funny you mentioned towers on your digi-cockpit. Back in the days (2003) Bellwood tx crash 💥 T-Mobile no a/c lights 1000ft always stay vigilant especially in IFR/VFR transition.
Great video. Always wanted to pursue a career in flying helicopters, but never did. Cool to hear about it though. Also your pilot is easy on the eyes so that' is a bonus :). Thanks for the video!!
flying without a copilot and (presumably no helicopter auto-pilot) is very impressive, managing all the systems in addition to the flying Edit: commented before she mentioned the auto-pilot
Are you supposed to change the helicopter's oil and take care other stuff or does the hospital have a mechanic that makes sure the aircraft is up to date?
"Oh yea. 👍 Sure, a monkey could fly a helicopter" 🍌 (as I get in, set down, and start growing a tail 🤣 - an old friend used to say "No machine's gonna make a monkey out of me! As I grow a tail"...... RIP John 🙏 love you brother 💜 Hats off to all of you in the industry. I'm retired from it now. Had some great folks mostly to work with back in the day 👍🇺🇸
Thank you, but no I do not. As part of the flight crew we are expected to be able to help the pilot in a lot of situations. We have an active role in all emergency procedures along with navigation and watching for hazards.
Glad you blurred out the helicopter registration number... But ask the pilot if there's any other place it might be visible on this video... (it is clearly visible)
Sam, you begin looking like a real man...:) Tactical beard, open jumpsuit, roguish haircut...cool. No wonder you attract nice blonde girl pilots...😄😁Great vid too. Keep on.
Your pilot is probably the cutest chick that can fly a chopper I've ever seen and being able to fly a chopper makes her wayyyyyy sexier lol glad to see how far your channel has came brother keep up the amazing work
@@Marcusboyce23 definitely not thirst definitely called a compliment I know it's hard for ppl online to understand the difference but whatever helps you sleep at night snowflake
I was thinking about getting my airplane license so I may consider helicopter license. I am working toward my AEMT in August and Surgical Technician in the spring
