Seneca College's assistant chief flight instructor says the landing of an airplane on Highway 407 was the ideal choice given the emergency situation facing the pilots.
i flew with ibrahim at grimsby airport. he's cooler than refrigerated cucumbers. i would land on the 407 even with engine power just to make headline news..lol
if you get killed because an airplane hits you i think there would be charges, it's your life and someone's else's life. of course you want to save yourself but if that results in someone else dying...it would make sense
@@marsgal42 Standard practice for where? I’ve studied quite a few crash investigations for college courses and out of pure interest to better myself as a pilot, and not once have I ever seen that. I’m not saying it’s never happened, but there’s nothing common about that when statistically compared to other aviation off field landings or accidents for that matter.
I believe this was done so that the rental company doesn't get any bad press (people might say their aeroplanes are bad, etc). You can easily pick out the plane owner by the registration, hence the tape covers both the registration and the company logo. Clever actually.
@@markplain2555 It’s still different… which makes it weird. It’s just something most people haven’t seen before so it stands out. You never see companies covering their logos and license plates in car wrecks.
Hmmm. The mechanics had just finished its 100 hour maintenance work then this happens. Certainly, the mechanics should be questioned about the work. The engine started failing when the fuel was switched from one tank to a second tank. This has probably been done before so please explain why it failed this time.
@@ramama987 You’re 100% right about it being expensive. Everything in aviation is ridiculously expensive. I honestly don’t know anything about aviation insurance except that I am required to have it. If the airplane mechanically failed then by god I hope the pilot doesn’t pay a dime if it wasn’t his fault.
Actually you probably could pull it off on the 401. You swoop in at about 140km/hr above cars - they normally start to slow down when they see a plane above their heads and make a gap - it's been done before on other major highways...... BUT if it's peak when everyone is parked on the highway - then you are about to become seriously religious.
Are you kidding me? Not sure if you are saying this because of his skin colour… but he used to be my flight instructor in college and he is one of the best out there… there’s no room for racism in this world and I really hope nothing was meant from this comment. Wow, unbelievable
