That’s funny; I was listening to a sleep story on my Calm app last night, amd thought how great it would be if they had Jemaine read one. Matthew McConaughey’s is very relaxing and I think Jemaine’s would be amazing.
Yes, Denny's. Which as we all know, is incredibly racist! Well,... not anymore. One of my mom's first jobs was as a waitress at Denny's. One of her jobs was ensuring that black people be seated in their own section. This wasn't in the '40s, it was the '70s. Shocking, right? Even in the '90s, some locations would seat black customers after whites or refuse to serve them at all.
whenever i feel racist this song reminds me of this albanian disfigured boy i once met in a cave after villagers chased me down because i'm so different.
I love the way he almost makes himself laugh when he says Well, not anymore." Keeping a straight face seems like the hardest part of good comedy performance.
David Bowie narrated an orchestra version of "Peter and the Wolf". I would totally buy an album of Albi the Racist Dragon parts 1-6 by FOTC in the same manner. These guys are brilliant!
Did he really? I'm Australian, and the version we had growing up was narrated by Dame Edna Everage (i.e. Barry Humphries). I guess Dame Edna is our David Bowie XD Also I would totally buy that album too. In a heartbeat.
I love that this person created a RU-vid channel, published 4 videos 16 years ago, and then never did anything with the channel ever again, but also never took it down.
no matter how many times i hear this, '...laughed the boy' will always crack me up! and i love how Jemaine so nearly laughs on the 'well, not any more' bit :D aaah theyre so awesome!
I love this performance of the song; though the short they made in the TV show was great, they're just having so much fun performing it here that it's a joy just to watch their faces throughout.
So it was that after many years of waiting in Meereen, Daenerys Stormborn, the last Targaryen, the Unburnt watched as her dragons grew into large beast capable of destroying worlds. Thus, she knew it was time as she mounted her fiercest and rode. Drogon left all those he flew over in darkness, Viseryon burnt through rock like butter on a stove and Albi burnt an Albanian boy, the racist dragon they named him...well not anymore.
In the marmalade forest [forest] Between the make believe trees In a cottage cheese cottage Lives Albi [Albi] Albi [Albi] Albi the racist dragon Part 6 And so all the people of the village Chased Albi the racist dragon into A very cold very scary cave and it Was so cold and scary in there that Albi began to cry dragon tears Which as we all know turn into jellybeans! Anyway just at that moment he felt a Tiny little hand rest apon his tail. And who should that little hand belong to, but the badly burnt Albanian boy from the day before 'What are you doing here I thought I killed you yesterday' Grumbled Albi quite racistly 'No Albi, you didn't kill me with your dragon flames, I Crawled to safety but you did leave me very badly disfigured, ' Laughed the boy 'Why are you crying? ' I'm crying because all of the Villagers chased me here, I Think it's because I'm so racist. ' 'No Albi they chased me here too, when I became all disfigured like this They just don't like you and I. Because... Well because we're different to them And with that, Albi cried a single tear, which turned into a jellybean all the colours of the rainbow! And Albi wasn't racist anymore! So they sat in the cave [cave] And ate bubble gum pie [yum! ] Albi the racist - well, not anymore - Dragon... !
And it was on that day that Albi's knew in his heart he'd been wrong... No longer would he be Albi "the racist dragon", for all humans were just the same. Albi, the man-eating Dragon.
I'm so glad these guys are getting more recognition. They are awesome and even though I must have listened to their songs hundreds of times they still make me laugh. :)
The song just came to me out of nowhere i havnt heart this masterpiece in a VERY long time, still took up the guitar and literally remembered the dialogue they were having and i laughed through it all… fkn awesome nostalgic feeling
This is my favorite version of this song, seriously. "You did leave me very badly disfigured," laughed the boy. I can't figure out which is more amusing: Jemaine's voices or Bret's facial expressions.
I think Rhett and Link only picked this song because Link saw so much of himself in the Flight of the Conchords... and yes I had listened to this before I knew who Rhett and Link were.
Well here I am 16 years later and I'm laughing my ass off. Hard to believe it's been like 15 years since I've seen this video for the first time. I was a few months out of high school, and our neighbors introduced this group to us. And by us of course I mean my mom and stepdad and sisters. It was and still is to this day very hilarious.
Conquer Earth As someone who makes a lot of lists, I can say he probably meant to click a different playlist, but accidentally added it to the ERB appearances one and didn't notice.
Am I the only one here realising that "Albi the racist dragon" sounds like "I'll be the racist dragon"? Not sure if its on purpose though, love that song :)
Same, but as a writer there's a part of me that just finds the "part 6" part desperately hilarious, because it's so often that you want to write a particular part of the story, but you can't because there are all these other parts that come before it. (And yeah, I've tried skipping and going back, but then I always need to do big revisions. 🙄) So there's something kind of liberating about them just being like, f*** it, I'm writing the "good part," you can use your imagination for the rest. 😂😂
