I started watching this channel because Im a pilot. I keep watching it because it teaches me the value of a positive attitude and just being a really nice guy.
Hi Ernie great video as always. You are such a humble great guy. A true inspiration to all pilots. At 15m 51s did you say "as we are going across the Atlantic". Might just be my hearing. Keep those engines spinning.
You’re fantastic Ern. A few days ago, I failed my commercial check ride, in Phoenix of all places. One day, I’m going to be an airline pilot, for a major airline somewhere. You’re a real inspiration. Thanks man.
@@TB-um1xz Thank you I really appreciate that. It must be so fulfilling overcoming setbacks and achieving your dreams. Perhaps in the long run, you’re wiser for it too.
@@jimtewa8096 as an aviation enthusiast I don’t really mind airbus, Boeing, embraer, whatever, i do care about the airline cuz ain’t no way im taking 6 hour in a spirit 320
Hey BigErn love all your videos any chance you can make a Pilot proficiently training video in a sim where in flight emergencies could occur and what they throw at you mostly or in general thanks if u can 🎉
At 15:55 Big Ern it's going across the pacific not the Atlantic!! ❤😊 I need the Hookup on an SWA Female Flight attendant Non Rev Pass privileges So I can Ride SwA almost Free Non Rev is the only way 2 go!! Love the channel ❤😊
Hey Bigern, awesome video as always! Did a Calgary to Pheonix flight last week on the 737 and it was very interesting going from +10 C to +45 C within 3 hours! We thought summer was over up here in Canada but clearly it isn't in Pheonix. Love your work sir!
😂 Hahaha. Thank you for sharing your trip. You made laugh when you said junior Captains!! And you are right for being able to bid and hold or pick up a great trip. But And having other senior Captains seeing those nice Hawaii trips and they may want them, well you may not be able to pick up that trip until some other time.
I use to love flying on my former 777s from Chicago to Hawaii. You are right about head winds going west. But it is so nice to back from a good layover with a nice tail wind pushing you along!!!☺ I see now my former airline is flying the 787s on the few non-stop flights to Hawaii. A few former coworkers have told me how the trios have been recently. I hear it is still nice.
5:40 I can say its much longer when your traveling at 7.5 knots in a 76' yacht across that stretch, although the destination was Seattle, non stop, about 2 weeks en-route or 330 hours one way. Keep up the good work Captain! ⚓✈
Hey, Big Ern, just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate and enjoy your channel. I'm a SWA captain's mom, and I've always been interested in what he does for a living. Your videos give me so much insight into the every day goings on, so they help me to better understand what his days must be like as well. Thanks for taking the time to take your viewers along on your trips. I'm sure they motivate many aspiring pilots, as well. May God bless and always keep you safe in the palm of His hand. 🙏💙♥️💛
Hey Ernie, another great video , the flight planning and the walk around the aircraft in PHX was professional and superb. As usual you always operate professionally and the scenery in Honolulu was excellent and you get to see the sunset. Great details on the route back to PHX. Have a great week.
I love flight radar 24 i use it everyday I’ve had it for a few years now, when i see a plane go over Tells what kind and where there going, gives registration it’s a must have for people who love planes I live on the route between Nashville and Memphis so I see a ton of FedEx heavy’s and southwest flights
While I know you cannot film any portion of the flight, you did not talk about the takeoff roll/ runway used considering the hot & heavy departure at PHX. Thanks for the video!
Probably being knocked over by a catering truck or loading wagon from not wearing a yellow safety vest… or hearing damage from not wearing ear protection 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Oki am 60 and working on my private followed by inst rate. Call me stupid but the school has Cirus but thats way to complex to do a private. Trying to do the math on 46k to gallons at $$$ per gallon. One costly flight
Great video, Big Ern....it's really interesting to see that all of your impressive technological tools include FR24, which I use to track whether there are firefighting aircraft flying anywhere near my home here in Central Orygun....
Just found your channel. I never realized my dream of being an airline pilot, but great content to watch and learn. And some thingsI can still apply in today's amazing flight sims....though I mostly fly Airbus :)
Hi Ern, I'm new to the channel. What led me here was your recent command upgrade--I too am just going through that process, though I'm on the Airbus side of the house! Unfortunately I had to have a period of time off during line training (UOT I think you call it in the US) and have enjoyed watching your videos as I get ready to get back at it! Love your enthusiasm and great content!
I heard a story from someone who went thru Falcon transoceanic recurrency training at Flight Safety (or somewhere) ... They said to have a Marine Traffic tracking app on your tablet downloaded. They gave a slow fuel leak scenario where you have time to plan... if you are going to ditch.. ditch in front of a freighter in a shipping lane. Makes sense.
That was one of your best videos to date Captain Big Ern! Loved it. I enjoy hearing about the struggle of being a junior captain at a very senior base...but at the same time, you have the big picture of a first year as a captain that was truly great AND you gave a shout out to the FA's you fly with every day Way to be humble, grounded and appreciative.
G, day Captain Ern from Sydney Australia. Great video production and love the prawns and rice hotel meal. Had me some "mighty fine" pasta and prawns in a tomato base dish, just the other day!!! 🌏🇭🇲
Hey Big Ern, Love your videos. I can tell you had a lot on your mind because at 15:52 or so, you said you were flying across the Atlantic on your way home! 😁 I hope one day you are my pilot!
Awesome video captain! Just started flight school at Sierra Charlie at chandler municipal airport KCHD! Hoping to work for Southwest in a few years! Maybe even your future First Officer!
..as an early sub..it's always a good day..when Capt.Big Ern..posts yet another great..and very enjoyable..flight video..and please.. please ..keep 'em coming..Ern..
Among the Polish governmental planes there are two 737-800s and a BBJ 737. They flew into NYC for the UN summit and they had to stop in Iceland on the way. Interesting stuff to follow
