Hello! mate, very good video man!! In the part of the fligthsimbuilder page you show the part where customers give feedback recommending the unit, the first three photos are mine :D in which one of them shows the G1000 showing the image of Windows!. I'm excited right now to see them in your video!! The truth is that this product is very good!! I love it and I thank God for allowing me to have it!! I recommend it 100%!!

God your enjoying the G1000 mate. That’s funny it’s your review I’ve shown on the video. Yea the customer feedback is great. Do you have two units or one?

@@g-locmedia I only have one drive since I have one panel and it doesn't have enough space. I use a tablet to simulate the other G1000 and the other part of the panel is the radio, autopilot, G530, and the Cessna switchepanel!! I think you can see the panel in one of the three photos I uploaded on flightsimbuilder!!

I like the tactile idea, but my 12 inch tablet and MatricApp combined is about a third the price!

Do you use knobster with that?
@CMDR_CWolfxUK

@g-locmedia no, again, cost. I actually have 2 devices - an old 6 inch mobile phone and the 12 inch tablet. The have virtual switches and buttons and multi position dials. They do lack the tactile feedback of an actual switch but they do the job. Still got the visual feedback of them being in a certain position and they are distinctive visually to be more useful than a keyboard. Plus, some have macros attached, mainly things like switches that simulate me holding a button down - freeing me up to do other things.

For learning the G1000 I have spent hours with the Simionic G1000 PFD and MFD simulators on the iPad. Coupled with Max Trescott’s G1000 book, I can now fly complete IFR flights just with the iPad sim app. Simply amazing. When I get into the 172 in MSFS I am now actually comfortable 😊

There’s something in g to be said about physical buttons and knobs. Makes it way easier. I’ll check out that g1000 book.

Great video here. Super helpful and you have definitely made my decision more concrete. You mentioned (and the FSB FAQ section also says this) you can customize the unit to act as another piece of avionics. Have you by any chance tested this in any way? Once I get the G1000 in hand, that will be something I'll be searching RU-vid for I'm sure. *wink wink*. Either way, thanks for your time making this.

Thank you so much. No I haven’t tested customising it but I know people have had success using spas.next.

6:22 I recently received the G1000 setup from RealSimGear and mounted it in a Stay Level Avionix panel. Pop out panel manager has been super useful in getting the G1000s set up since I'm constantly loading in new flights. I did notice the black bars issue so I'm glad it's not just me experiencing it. I can sometimes get it to fill the full screen if I toggle the pop out panel manager white bars/fullscreen settings but it's not 100%. Usually it'll fix itself on my MFD but retain the black bars on the PFD. Bit of an annoyance just due to the soft keys needing to line up with the display. Stay Level Avionix has a G1000 comparison on his YT channel and it looks like the most premium consumer option is definitely the Aviatek units but at nearly 3x the cost of the RSG units (!!) I probably could've saved about $500 going with FlightSimBuilder but I think RSG is a little bit higher quality in terms of the knobs and buttons. You can't go wrong with either.

What are you using for the motion on the table?
@DanFrederiksen

Pretty neat but rather than use the icky layery look of 3D print knobs, simply make a silicon mold on a print from a resinprinter that's vastly finer in structure and you can pour 2 component plastics and they will look completely pro.
@g-locmedia
@g-locmedia 9 месяцев назад
I’m not fully aware why they went for 3D print but there must be some reason for it. It is a great 3D print though.

I wouldn't recommend for VR unless you have good pass through and I'm not aware of any headsets that have that for the time being.

$700 bucks for a 3d printed addon is a joke. Can make your own cheaper and better quality. Built two G1000NXI's, with FlightSimDIY's PCB boards, and Mobiflight for less.

I'd love to be one of those people that could build something like that successfully but unfortunately I find the understanding of things like that quite difficult. Do you have an image of your build. Keen to see it?

@@g-locmedia I'll primarily use it for the G1000's though, the main attraction point is having the actual buttons. I'm controlling my G1000's with an X-touch mini now and it's just not the same.
