Ramon Villalobos said he was bullying Ed to "help him become a better man". Guess that plan didn't work and that's why Ed named him as one of the 3 or 4 that did him in.
One of the things I love with this channel is picking up on new artist like Uno Moralez. Jim mentioned his name while talking about SHATTER. I knew nothing about Uno Moralez before, after looking him up I am blown away, he is amazing!
I so appreciate the ongoing uploads of these episodes... I don't take them for granted in any way, shape or form. I do hope that, at some point, Jim will come forward and share his thoughts with us concerning all that has transpired. I understand if he doesn't... still... I feel that the way forward requires that we acknowledging the past, no matter how difficult. And I hope that there is a "path forward" for CK... I sincerely hope it will not fade away. Jim, if you are reading this... I hope you are well, and I hope you know that you are appreciated. What you helped make here is so valuable. Whatever happens, just know that tomorrow matters more than yesterday... but right now is all we really have. Thank you for sharing so many of your 'right nows' giving us the gift of your enthusiasm for this medium. Again, you are appreciated.
Oh wow, American Cult looks interesting! This tragedy inspired me to check out more of Ed's work. Just finished Red Room series, fucking kick ass! This channel is so inspiring to get into new material. Kayfabe Forever!
Got my hands on Red Room:Anti-Social Network at a local shop. I absolutely love it. Hearing Ed talk about it being the answer to corporate Horror comics was so spot on!
I love the Eddy P mentioned the Filipino artist Alex nino. Would be great to have a deep dive into Filipino illustrators. Miss you Ed. Miss you Jim. 143.
I picked this up for the sweet Hale cover. He was doing a alot of covers for DC at that time. What I would have done is make it a bigger issue where everyone has 20 pages. It's like a lot of Vertigo titles. 50/50 hit or miss. Not DC but it'd be interesting to have an all horror publisher today. Hollow Press is the closest thing out there I'm aware of.
I used to own these. I read these, they were awesome and epic. the comic shop I used to frequent said it was discontinued because vertigo wasn't as well read as other comics, and fables was basicaly the same premise of short stories, and benefitted from the sandman connection and in general fantasy was just selling better.
I thought I had ordered the Vamp but forgot to finalize the order on Pulse. Life got busy/complicated, wondered why mine hadn't shipped, and realized my error too late. Hoping for a restock!
