Mark another fun informative video. when your video said third option I thought you were going to grease gun it out. if I ever run out of prb I'll have to think about things I could shoot like some of my wife's baking, nah that would scar the barrel, I use her biscuits for targets they dent just like your metal plate. thanks again now off to church to ask forgiveness ,Bruce 🙏

Considering what I've read Native Americans and even some in the service stuffed down the barrels of guns during the 1600 and 1700's, I imagine glass marbles are probably much better than the rocks, gravel, glass, cut up nails, square chunks of lead, etc. I wonder if those glass balls they sell for slingshots would work, same with the round glass balls they sell for aquarium bedding.

Others would not show and share the goofs encountered like this. I'm glad you were able to save the situation. There is a reason why they used 0.06" undersized balls for their bores in the old military smoothbores.

I thought you had one of those CO2 tools to clear stuck balls, Mark?

I have to say it. Mark found his lost marbles! Im glad you got that marble out. It'd be a shame to cut down such a beautiful musket. But have that barrel checked. It may have been damaged and you may have to get your wish.

Glass ammunition and even balls chipped from stone where historical rounds and pretty effective. Also no way man don't saw that gun off it is too nice as is and more useful the way it is now.

I don't think I would have cut the barrel down simply because it's a fine weapon with a lot of history behind it.

A friend of mine shot 3" glass balls (solid ones) out of a 3" bore cannon and re-used them many times. They worked well and never shattered.... surprising

I would have thought the marble would have came apart when shooting them but they have a punch to them. I am glad you didn't have it cut down! I wonder what paint balls would do if you use a small charge like 20gr and a wad to cushion the paint ball?

Coulda pulled the vent liner out and get it im there easier.... Odds are ya hung up pn fowling... If ya try again, clean between shots. You should beable to use the smaller ones as well with flight control wads. Believe i sent you a decent amount of those a while back that should fit your gun. They fit mine anyway.

I can shoot better left hand as well as bat baseball, eat w/ utensils but have always done most things right hand- Maybe my brain confused- The only issue I have is I'm for sure right eye dominant So when I shoot left hand I have to lean head over for right eye-

Have you ever tried shooting candy pearls out of your smoothbore? How about wheat kernels? Would love to see what either of these do to a stack of pop cans, or some balloons. Thanks for the great content!

Don't shoot rocks or glass without it being patched. Even though marbles are smooth you damage the bore.

What is the brand name of your flintlock muzzleloader. I've been looking for one with rifling in it I been wanting to get back into the traditional muzzleloaders

Cool and good to know. I fixed a wheel bearing in a car. I took the ball bearings out of the old one. They look like a 50 caliber. I’ll have to mic em. But I don’t think I’ll shoot them well maybe in my slingshot 😂. Love your videos

are you using an over marble card to keep from losing your marbles if you point down slightly ?

Option 3. Smash the marble with the metal rod and break it out.

That 29 Marbels would love to be fired out of a Blunderbuss ;-)

I had a over size bore on a old Lyman that I tried that in the marbles had no where near the impact yours did most did not even get to the target .

Option 4 drill it out!!! But. Glad you blasted it out. Great video Mark!!! Keep the powder burning

If a Marble hut a bone then the Dr. would never be able to get it out all the piecies.

I never doubted that they would shoot. Solid glass is harder than a lot of people think. Never thought you would get one stuck in there though. IF it was not dry balled I myself would have used a steel rod and a wall to get the ball down. It would have gone down or broke. For one dry balled I would tried MAYBE 35 grains. I am glad you saved your gun AND had the guts to show what you did. Thank you for sharing and for being you!

Isn't glass harder than steel? It would be abrasive.

A blast of air down the barrel didn't work to blow out of the barrel

I always have so much to say about you but ill pick one thing n spread the rest over other videos. I always love the "remember Jesus loves ❤ you" at the end. I always forget about it n it sneaks up on me every time. These days people get bent outta shape about stuff like that n they dont wanna hear it, but it needs to be said. I was surprised that there was no consistency in size. But surprised how much damage they would do to steel. Glad you were able to get that out without cutting that gun. Odd it sticking could it have been fowling? I've measured some I have and they all came out to .057 but only in one spot I'll have to rotate to see if that changes.

Hey Mark....There's a you tube channel out there called "everything black powder" and he has a video dedicated to this same event(although he was using lead not glass)....to say the least I wasn't too worried that you could shoot it out....he's got a lot of info you might be interested in....good video....Pat
