So today we are in the beautiful countryside inland from Prestatyn on the North Wales Coast. All new to me, and if you normally come to the coast and don't head inland you are missing out. We start from Trelogan at Mostyn Dairy and then head down the lane to take a look at Maen Achwyfan, a 12 foot high Wheel Cross said to be the tallest Wheel Cross in Britain.
Next we continue down the lane and up into the woods winding our way to the top to Mynydd y Garreg Tower, reputed to be a roman pharos it has almost certainly been used as a watchtower and beacon standing high on the hill above the Dee Estuary. The views across the estuary to the Wirral and Liverpool are pretty amazing so take a minute to enjoy them and in the other direction you are looking towards Snowdonia.
We then head back down the hill to the lane we entered on and go straight on to the next lane over and wind our way down the country lanes to Mostyn where we pick up the Wales Coast Path and follow it along the shoreline to the Duke of Lancaster ship that we've visited before.
