Q:What camera do you use?
A: I use the Go Pro Hero 7 Black Edition primarily. Often times you will see auxillary cameras in use. Those cameras include The Go Pro Hero 6, Hero, and DJI Mavic Pro Platinum
Q: How big Is your rotator?
A: It is a 50 ton Miller Industries Vulcan 950
Q: Does the carriage slide back like Ron Pratt's?
A: No, the carriage doesn't slide back due to strict weight laws in California. The sliding carriage will make the truck to heavy in CA
Q: Why do you only have 3 winches on the rotator?
A: Comes down to weight again as stated above
Q: How many trucks Does Plaza Towing have?
A: Currently more than 30
Q: Why must the driveshaft be removed to tow a vehicle?
A: When vehicles are not running the transmission is not receiving circulating lubricant. If the driveshaft is left installed, the transmission, which is not receiving lubricant, is still spinning. This allows it to get very hot which eventually will cause major damage to the transmission. Therefore, removing the driveshaft completely eliminates the transmission from spinning. Simply leaving it in neutral is not sufficient since the transmission still spins in neutral.

Why not use it like a straight boom truck?
@plazatowing
@plazatowing 4 года назад
Absolutely could have but I was heading in the direction that the truck was facing and the next turn around was a ways down the road. Additionally it looked a little tight to squeeze the rotator in there but certainly doable. Thought of that after the fact. Live and learn. Thank you for watching!

You did a great and safe job, I faught my flip for years until i found out purely by mistake that if you center your pick and run your chain under the bumper and axle to the support that runs across the axle, It will pick and fall perfect every time. But again you did it the safe and profitable way, good work🇱🇷

We hardly ever see you in one of the straight boom trucks anymore. It’s almost always in the rotator. Why did they need that axle flipped up anyway? The other question I have is why do some state make the permit process so difficult?

We do chain the axle before we lift so not to pull on shocks and bags....but driver should know his equipment... now it needs a plate on trailer if its a separate serial number from flip....which most are.....

It's that wonderful thing called just getting it past the balance point .... great job Trent in adapting to the tools and conditions you had available. Why they just didn't let him run it in as a tri-axle is beyond me. California must have some weird-ass regulations to contend with - and I thought the Australian axle loading regulations were bad!

The axle allowances for every state for heavy hauling are a tangled web of nuttiness. You'd think the big trucking companies and associations across the US would try and get them simplified, but permits are probably nice money makers for governments so I'm sure they're loathe to change them.

It's funny seeing how other countries do it, you wouldn't see a lowloader set up like that in Australia (not even sure if that would be legal here). Here a dolly is a completely separate trailer (which has to be registered independently as a separate trailer- own plate, rego etc) and is found under the front of a semis rear trailer ie only on road trains (has it's own fifthwheel on top, and a ringfeed drawbar) rear shot static.dealersau.com.au/image/listings/p5e/9fd7fc7c0b7308e07ee45e0dcf0e0bd68415fd66/3626_1153715_2.jpg front shot static.dealersau.com.au/image/listings/pqF/055e79ec0a1f97b5c1b038c08e04cb0699bfce67/0472_1144521_3.jpg
