Welcome to TomFM! In today's Football Manager 2022 experiment video I'm flipping the English Leagues in FM22. That means that the Premier League teams are now competing in the National League, whilst the non league National League sides are competing in the Premier League. I've also swapped League 2 and the Championship, whilst League One stays as it is. Will Premier League giants such as Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United be able to climb back to the top, or will clubs like Grimsby Town, Halifax and Wrexham be able to stay on top?

The one thing I've always wanted to see is a reversal of the leagues in like, England, France, Italy, Germany, Spain and Scotland even, and then see where things go - it would be hard to balance it out and you may need to download extra leagues (so that you have 5 levels in Germany, Spain etc) - but it'd be SO interesting to see the impact this has on European Football

One thing I'd find interesting in an experiment is what would happen if the EFL had the same media deal as the premier league.

A suggestion for FM22 experiment: The Premier League has 20 teams and you could try and populate top20 European leagues with the premier league teams for example, the most reputable premier league team, let's say Man City, goes to the most reputable league, that is Premier league, so it stays where it is the second most reputable premier league team, let's say Chelsea, go to the second most reputable league, that is Spain, and switches places with their champion, that is Real Madrid Idk if it isn't too complicated, but it would be fun to see how much of the champions league would be just english teams and what would become of the initial premier league, that is now comprised of 20 different european leagues champions

I've played this experiment numerous times - FLIPPING everything from Premier down to Vanarama North/South. Easiest way to do it is sort via Reputation, thus the 20 lowest reputation teams are placed in the Premier League, then the next 24 lowest going into Championship, and so on. Getting out of North/South is hard, but the first teams to do so fly straight up to Premier League, earning promotion every season. Those teams that get stuck in North/South for a few years, will eventually get back to at least Championship in 10-15 years - but the Premier League is tough, as other Championship squads also earn promotion. Problem is, the original North/South, or in your test Vanarama squads reputations are so low, (as well as their stadium sizes very small), they don't have the revenue streams or reputations to remain successful. Even those that remain in Premier after 4-5 seasons, are soon quickly relegated.

FM23 save idea Halifax to UCL Champions - how many seasons Tom?

Before watching my prediction is that after 20-30 seasons the lasting change will be that the top 5 or 6 from the championship in whatever year you start this will be the major beneficiaries. They’ll get promoted up in the first two years and make hay while the sun shines in an easy mode Premier League. Not sure exactly which teams are where (not sure what season’s lists you’re using), but the teams that had just got promoted back up will get destroyed by this, and the teams that had just got bounced out of the top tier might actually get up and get established as mid table EPL teams by the time the dust clears. Teams from the top of the Premier League should be able to climb quick enough that their lists won’t be totally ruined, but the teams that won’t be able to start winning promotions back out of the National league till later will haemorrhage a lot of their quality. So I think the big 6 will come back up, mid pack teams might settle as mid pack championship teams, and the bottom end will get stuck in League 1 and 2

How about putting all the Scottish Premiership and Championship teams into the English Conference and seeing how high they can climb in ten years?

Actually if these teams could be swapped in real life they could generate a bit more money to improve but the game does not prioritize the improvements of backroom staff improvements and infrastructure. Sadly these teams have no enough stadion capacity to attract enough fans so the money they get is mostly the tv revenue. That is not enough to become competitive with the actual large teams unless you make an experiment where all the vanarama teams (all 3 division) could get some boost for team like more starting money, better infrastructure, larger stadium like 15-25k capacity ones, then these teams could be very competitive once they get players. My experiment would be to add each vanarama teams 10-15 youth players at the age of 15-16 with 100-120 level and with 160-180 potential and let's see how they helps their teams.

Here is a video idea, get the top 20 FIFA nations in the world and put them in a league together, see how they do, so France current team goes to - Brentford, Spain to Arsenal etc, remove their original players first and then ban transfers
