Great review, I also have the fluke 289 (my favorite meter ever). I have the flir 284 coming. Looking forward to the display (my only complaint about the fluke). Also looking forward the the tempature sensor with color overlay.Jon J
The FLIR DMM is cool but I would just get one of their handheld thermal imaging tools. The Fluke 289 takes a while to power up and drains batteries as well. Not as bad as that FLIR and the 289 does offer some pretty decent visual features. However, the Fluke 87V is my go to meter about 98% of the time. Powers up immediately, has a wide range of resolution, takes one hell of a beating, and still provides that click sound I've learned to love when choosing its options.
What do you mean you can't get the images off it? Other than that how do you like it? Is the thermal camera resolution good, can you tell what you are looking at?
"FLIR" - is an overrated, expensive marketing ploy, which puts complicated software over practicality, sticking with your FLUKE or other good measuring equipment.
