Paloma’s story reminded me of when I was in 4th grade and I wrote a secret admirer note for a boy and put it in his desk. I wrote it in bubble letters and he and his friends were trying to figure out who made it by making all the girls write in bubble letters to match the handwriting like little detectives 🤣 I wrote mine with sharp edges instead of rounded so they couldn’t tell and I don’t think he ever knew lmaooo

I remember being in 4th grade and I had written "#1 Angel" on my binder. For some reason, we had laid our binders on the floor and my crush picked mine up to hand it to me. When he did, he said "Here you go, #1 Angel." I died a little on the inside. I realized later on that my binder actually said "#1 Angle." 🤦‍♀Just shows that I couldn't spell and boys can't read 🤣🤣

In 6th grade I was so smitten with a boy that I wrote him a letter and confessed my feelings to him, and then was bold enough to mail it to his house. Luckily only one of his friends asked me about it at school and the boy himself never mentioned it to me. I'm sure I was full of dread going to school on the day when I knew my letter would have arrived. Love makes us do things that we normally would not do. Lesson, take a beat, wait a few days and then reconsider what you are about to do.

I was definitely guilty of "ehh I don't really like anyone but I'll just pick a name so I can join my friends" when it comes to school crushes. I also said yes to anyone who asked me to go out, regardless of if I was interested, as long as I was single. These relationships never worked out, even though I hoped I might catch feelings for them. One of my friends from college is asexual and I find that I have a lot more in common with her experiences than with the ones my middle school/high school friends had. I think I may be on that spectrum, but I'm in a very happy relationship right now and I am feeling all the feels. 💗💗

"Taylor the Latte Boy" is the best! Kristin Chenoweth did a show/concert at my college as part of the theater's performance series the year after I graduated, so a friend and I went back to see it.
