Same thing was happening for me! Our internet went out and it was doing exactly what you were showing. I figured out the problem! If you’ve connected device previously, you have to do a HARD RESET before pairing again… 1) push reset button until it blinks blue 2) press and hold reset button AGAIN until it blinks purple; 3) wait for light to stop blinking; 4) NOW you can add the device!!
This worked for me. After the light turned purple I tried to connect, and it failed. I hit the reset button again to get the blue flashing lights, and it connected with no problem.
Thanks for the video. I had the same problem with my first device. VERY frustrating... I wasted too much time on it. I returned it and got a second device and got that one to set up. Wish I had seen mancyteacher's comment before, maybe that would have solved my initial problem.
Appreciate the feedback & agree that maybe we would have both been successful. I like Moen's water valve, but their sensors have been the hardest to set up. The cost is expensive. We use the Yolink water valve, which seems to be the best value in the market place. Thanks for commenting & Subscribing!
Thank you, @mancyteacher!!! (See their comment.) I was headed toward a very frustrating experience. I reset my router and managed to get the first device set up. However, I had to give it a few tries and learned to be patient. I found it essential to wait for the app to prompt me instead of manually playing around with the wifi settings on my phone. The setup time gets shorter with each additional device.
No haven't tried again. It was a time when Aws was having problems. Maybe that was related. We recomend the Yolink system bang for the buck. If money is not an issue I'd go go with Phyn for its sophistication on water flow analysis. Please let us know if you have any other specific questions or we can help in any way. I compiled a list of our water protection videos here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6stYCrc6SRI.html Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for the comment. The phone was connected. The device could not transition from it's hotspot to the internet. I suspect there was some sort of Moen cloud hosting issue.
I bought three of these in May 2021. One by one each of these Flo by Moen devices have crapped out. Everything I do to reestablish connection to the same modem Wi-Fi as before have failed. Batteries have been replaced, I have spent countless hours searching the Internet for answers ,still no Internet connection. Trying to get troubleshooting service from Moen is impossible. I believe their website is no longer working. Stay away from this horrible HORRIBLY product.
Sorry to hear about your problem, but good to know I'm not the only one that had a problem with these. Hope you "Liked" the video. We have had much better luck with the Yolink water sensors/system. Please see our playlist: ru-vid.com/group/PLXRRf0lV0vUzV6kgEiRy88XrAxDBOsZEd. Let us know if we can be of any assistance.
I think we pinned the comment from one of our subscribers who finally was able to get it to work. We prefer the yolink water sensors. Please check out our videos on those. Thank you for commenting and subscribing. Let us know what you finally decide on
Junk. Absolute junk. Took it back with in 2 hours. Bought a Cove security system to replace my existing and added water sensors to the cove. Problem solved.
I've used brands from multiple companies and agree it was the most difficult water sensor to use. Please consider giving the video a thumbs up and subscribing to the channel. This supports our efforts in helping others with technology. Please check out our yolink videos for water sensor reviews that seem to work better. Thanks for commenting and let us know if you need any help.
the flo by Moen is garbage and will be going back. keep hanging up and forcing you to reinstall. Never did finish as it gets to a point where it wants to force you to connect to Alexa. from there it just keeps looping back to the same point whether you stay not interested or attempt to connect even though you have no Alexa.... try to turn off the temperature humidity and battery alarms thinking that is why it wants to connect to Alexa but it will not let you turn any of them off. Trash!
Sorry you had a similar problem. Thanks for commenting and subscribing. Please check out our videos on yolink. It seems much simpler to set up. The phyn sensor was also easy.
