This video is regarding the modification to attach my Float Loc vice to my drill press table. THANK YOU to Mr. Pete aka...Tublacain. His recent build video gave me an idea to copy, but upon looking on how to build I came up with my own method. I hope this will help others.....Also a shout out to OXTOOL Tom Lipton for his idea on the arbor press

Chuck, Just came home with the float lock from a garage sale for real cheap and was going to mod it for a tee nut and saw your idea I will make an extension with a tee nut or maybe use the drain hole on my Rockwell vice like you did thanks for the ideas.

After having it on the drill press and using it a couple of times, I don't really like it, especially for narrow parts maybe ok for things 2 in and more

I've got a new (to me) drill press coming soon that I will be building a flock lock for. Mr. Pete's tutorial will be a great help, but seeing yours has the ability to stand on it's edge may make me rethink how mine is built.

That looks like a good idea. My drill press has that same hole in the table for flood coolant.

Saludos Chuck, I just might try to make one of the Float lock vises for my drill press. Awhile back you did a video on a storage rack for lathe tool holders. I saw it and tried to copy same. Mine is based on yours but not as nice looking but it does the job. Hope everything is going well on the medical front for both you and Tim.

I put a t nut & short set screw on each side of the hold down t nut

Hey Chuck I don't even know Bob. I like your vise. I just looked on ebay out of curiosity and float lock vises are going at a price above $100. I wonder how much they were asking before Tubalcain made the videos?

That drainage hole youre using for a vice anchor point IS fragile compared to the forces a vice can exert. You WILL break it off.

thanks for viewing and your comment....the majority of forces are directly down with the vise against the table, any lateral force of sufficient force to break the mount will have damaged much more than the attachment hole....

hmmm.... 4 asterisks.... do you have to asterisk NECK now? Man, lots of easily offended folks out there... I wondered what happened to Oxtools old float lock. I hadn't seen it in a while...
