This webinar is hosted by the Watershed University in collaboration with the California Silver Jackets. This initiative is a joint effort between the Army Corps of Engineers and the Department of Water Resources. The aim of the webinar series is to educate participants about the disaster management life cycle, especially concerning flood risk. This specific session zeroes in on the "preparedness" stage of the flood risk management life cycle, with a strong emphasis on risk messaging aspects.
The webinar features insightful presentations from representatives of three key agencies: the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the California Department of Resources. Each presentation spans roughly 15 minutes and is followed by a Q&A session. Additionally, the video provides a deep dive into the history and objectives of the Silver Jackets teams. These teams are interagency groups that collaborate to address state flood risk priorities.
