It's sad to say, but most of the public look at us like we're thieves and scum...…..That is until they need us in the middle of the night or a snowstorm etc.

For example just last week I was riding the shoulder with my beacons on trying to reach a accident. About a mile into the backup I had some guy in a pickup pull out of the lane and block me on purpose. He then proceeded to yell and call me a thieving POS and refused to let me past. Between shouting and making threatening gestures his passenger called the Police to "report me" when dispatch informed them I was responding to a accident. The only good part was the Police were waiting for him when he tried to go past and I signed a complaint.

SouthJerseySound some people are extremely disrespectful, I don’t know how they think that’s ok.
@happypappy6371

Often people do that to stop the flow of traffic that just wants to get ahead of the line so they can be first to proceed. You'll see trucks do that sometimes riding 3 wide to stop the cars from trying to squeeze by everyone else.
@TheUserid82
@TheUserid82 5 лет назад
@Cle Jons It comes from people that think this parking sign has no impact on me then they get towed and a $100-250 bill to get the car back from the company so start thinking of them a thieves. Yes you have some tow trucks doing illegal things but for the most part companies know they make more by being legal as they have nothing to hide. You also run into the scummy parking lot owners that buy the property next to a busy place in a city and put in a private lot with just enough signage to be legal but use every trick to hide it that they can like having the signs at the entrance to see as you drive out rather then places you walk past to get to a store next door or the one where they have a parking lot meter station hidden behind something so only the locals know to go get a ticket to put on the dash.

It would've been nice to have been able to see the turn around. I am in awe of those of you who are able to master that maneuver. I watched a truck rodeo one time when the drivers had two or three trailers, yes awesome for someone who has less than two eyes like me to see. You people (truck drivers) are great, it's a hard job, especially the big rigs and what you and your people do. Hope I never need you, but glad you all are out there just in case. To fans of Ron remember to leave a thumbs up.

David Sonnen.he could have made it easier on himself by just hooking up to the front then just driving away
@RonPratt
@RonPratt 5 лет назад
@@peterbarber7613 Actually, hooking to the front of this particular bus would have made this tow much more difficult. The drive-shaft would have to have been removed and air would have had to have been supplied to the air system on the bus to release the brakes or the brake chambers would have had to have been caged. This would have added a great deal of time and difficulty to this job. I knew I could make the turn around and I didn't have to go through the processes I mentioned. So, in my opinion, this was the easiest and most efficient way to tow this bus. Thanks for watching and God bless.

Ron, Impressive turning around in those narrow places. I honor the Military also and I support them 1000%. Flood waters are dangerous no doubt and no one should ever cross any flooded road what so ever. It's the "golden" rule...Turn Around, Don't Drown. I seen where people has crossed a flooded road a secondary road at that and they about lost their lives. God Bless and be safe out there. We live in old town Valmeyer and we had to evacuate our home for 3 weeks. If it wasn't for the Army Guard and the sheriff department, we probably would have lost our home. The water was just 2 feet from coming over the top. By the grace of God our home was spared and we were able to come back 2 weeks ago.

I know that the "tator " gets all the glory and attention, as well it should. It's an awesome machine and it takes a talented and experienced operator to get the most out of it. I'm personally attached to my Autocar AWD with a Holmes 850. It's a beast both in its operation and it's preformance. I have not been blessed with a rotator, our business just won't support it. However, as much as I appreciate my 850, at my age, had I to start this business over I would go no larger than yor single axle Peterbuilt that you have here. Perfect all around capability. The Holmes 750 of it's generation. In fact I have a new one on the way, same chassis, just not from the same manufacturer.

I have said it MANY times......people keep pointing out what they BELIEVE are cones...they are not. They are fold-over dividers and are not considered cones. These are placed permanently in the pavement and are designed to fold over when driven over. They are quite common in this area due to the large agricultural environment. Given all the obstacles in this small area AND the intended content, which was the appreciation of our service men and women, I'm tired of responding to these silly comments about me running over cones.....which I did not.....the items that I drove over are designed to be driven over and they are NOT cones. So.... CAN WE PLEASE FOCUS ON THE REAL CONTENT OF THIS VIDEO?????? THANKS AGAIN TO ALL OUR SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN. GOD BLESS.

The only reason sports stars get paid millions is that a very small number of them are selected to play in x sports while many hundreds of thousands to tens of thousands of people are in law enforcement and the military and also billionaires also pay these sport stars salaries even with negotiated contracts by the leagues saying how much each team can pay all of their players on their team.

@@pwhnckexstflajizdryvombqug9042 & @bill nalder . Nah - Australian Road-Train drivers make tight turns on a daily basis, all done on the worst roads as well - so turning isn't a problem to those that remember which way all the wheels turn - in or out, when towing forwards, and thus - just aim them all the same going backwards too ;-) Or - use a centipede truck - and simply ROTATE it all - on a center pivot point - somewhere inside it's deack area.. which is why someone commented there,.. about: "Pulling into the local tyre shop and saying" .. That flooding reminds me on the big floodings we had here in germany in 2002 and 2013. In both years the where whole cities that where flooded and hundreds of people from military, other emergency services and even people who just came to help others helped to protect the buildings and anything else from the water. One of the biggest miracles of the flood from 2002 was a family that survived the fast flowing and rising water sitting on one single wall of their home. Everything else was flooded away, the whole house collapsed into the water, just that one wall where the family was sitting remained.

It is now August 6. 2019. A couple of days ago I stumbled across one of your Video's Ron Pratt. Watched as you did your job in such a way as to not only impress but to show what professionalism is all about. You are courteous and respectful to all those around you. To work out in the elements is a job not that many would want to do. You go out with out a thought but to get the job done. First , thank you for the video's we get to see. Second , thank you for showing that there are men out there that show kindness and respect. Third, I have subscribed and look forward to you video's. :-) I live in Oklahoma so hello neighbor. We truly have some weird weather this year. Stay safe and thank you again for your support of our road mishaps . Gob Bless you too Ron and to your family , friends and coworkers. ^__^

Little Egypt floods like you wouldn't believe. Second MAJOR flooding event in the last few years. Last big one before this closed a couple dorms at SIU.. on account of the first floor being underwater. Interesting to hear about the flooding in Quincy in 2008. I was clearing houses in central Wisconsin after those floods that must have worked their way south, as things do along the Mississippi.

The 2nd Lieutenant is a "Mustang" which means he was "Enlisted" before becoming an "Officer" A better quality of Officer. He knows what it's like at the bottom of the totem pole.
