The most excited guy on the couch wrote and performed the song, which was a big Salsa hit. Floor completely rearranged it for the show and it blew everyone away. People are naturally drawn to Floor. She was an aura about her that we all feel. I’ve never connected with anyone until Floor came along. She’s very unique in a wonderful way. 🥰🥰

Her father said in an interview that when Floor performed for the first time in front of an audience (I don't remember how old he said she was, I think around 10 years old), he could not recognise his own daughter anymore. From one moment to the other she transformed from the shy, bullied, damaged, withdrawn soul she was, into a shining star, full of confidence. It is in her blood. She must have been created for performing. I use the word performing, because Floor also spent a few years training on the art of performing, not only on her voice.

Floor can sing in 8 different languages and I think she can really converse in 4 or 5. This woman is a talent slingshot, it doesn't stop at singing. In the same show she also sings phantom of the opera with the older gentleman, Henk Port. He is the original dutch phantom. This is a must see. Floor probably comes in this song to the myth of being able to let glass with her voice shatter at the closest. But you should also hear Marko sing solo. He can sing really well. You should do the whole season of Beste Zangers 2019 you can get subtitles with it all the singers or just Floors parts or the whole show. She is A Siren/Angel/Valkyrie. The first episode she sings Vilja Lied and surprises most of the other singers who haven't heard her before.

The show is best zangers ( best singers) and all the people on the show are singers ( all different styles) and each week one of them is honored by the other singers by doing one they're songs or a song that is special too them ....in this episode it was Rolf Sanchez being honored. As mentioned earlier, Beste Zangers (Best Singers) is originally a Dutch TV show and the format has been broadcast over the years under various names in a number of European countries and also outside Europe. The version of this show here in Finland has been running on TV every year for more than a decade already. - This Dutch show with Floor Jansen and 6 other great singers (sitting on the couches) representing different genres: rock, pop, opera, etc. was filmed in Ibiza Spain in 2019. Each day one of the seven singers sat on the middle couch with the host and talked about his/her life and career and the other singers sang songs of that person's repertoire, or songs that have been important to that person. No competition, just talking, singing and having fun with each other. Floor sang this song to Rolf Sanchez (a Dominican-Dutch singer), whose turn it was to sit with the host on the middle couch that day. The last day was a duet day and all the singers chose a partner with whom they performed a song that is important to themselves. I heard this song was emitted in Peru and it made nr 1 on the hit list that same night... But she did not go that far from her metal routine: She built up energy along the verses until a great crescendo at the last verses. And she allowed the guitar player a nice solo.

This show in 2019 at last introduced the Dutch public to their own Floor Jansen. It featured 7 singers and each show one sat on couch and other six each sang them a song that was important to them. Floor also sings Vilja Lied in German, Shallow, Winner and I Don't Know A Thing About Love in English and Mama in Dutch. She duets in Phantom of the Opera. Plus Shallow as a duet but personally prefer her solo version.

Beste zangers is the show that made me discover Floor. The song that blew me out of my socks was "Shallow", after that I checked all her contributions (Vilja Lied, Mama, Que se siente, About love I don't know a thing, Winner, Shallow again but as a duet with Tim Akkerman, one of the other particpants, and Phantom of the opera with Henk Poort) and I was sold. After that I checked Nightwish and the rest is history. And Henk Poort got a real special place in my heart with songs like Vivo per lei, Sound of silence, Noelia, Despacito (apart of course from singing Phantom of the Opera with Floor).

I hear you with trying to "explain" what it is about Floor, but in struggling with words (we all do it!) you hit ALL the salient points. There's just *something* about her, maybe more than one something, that just absolutely captures your heart and soul.

Yes Floor can sing anything. Commenters have joked she could sing the phonebook. During a Dutch radio appearance to promote and perform her new single Fire the host asked her to actually sing the phonebook. There are many singers who can sing a song, there are very few who can make you feel a song, there are even fewer who can take someone else's song and make you feel what that person felt. From everything I've seen, it doesn't matter who wrote the song, when Floor performs it, she makes you feel the emotion behind the song.

On Beste Zangers, besides hearing that magnificent voice, I love seeing the other singers react to her. Only one other singer even knew who she was. Metal is not played on the radio in the Netherlands so even most people in her own country did not know her. Now they do. Her version on Shallow hit #1 on the Netherlands iTunes chart. Her first song on the show is Vilja Lied. She sings it in German with a little added spice to Henk Port. Henk’s Mother sang it all the time to his Father so it means a lot to him. Floor cannot speak Spanish but said she had to learn the song phonetically and had to understand the meaning of the words to inject the emotion into the song. She is trying to learn more Spanish in the hope of being able to sing in Spanish on the Nightwish South American tour. All of her songs on Beste Zangers were remarkable but especially Shallow (lady Gaga cover) and Phantom of the Opera with Henk Poort who was the Original Dutch Phantom with over 1000 performances. I’m spanish and her accent is very good. Latin American accent because she learnt the lyrics by phonetics (she can’t speak spanish). There are some small pronunciation mistakes but in some parts she sounds like a native. She sings in spanish better than I speak english, so no complaints at all

Floors vocals are like her stature she is strong and tall like a man but caring and Beautiful as well. Her music is the same strong and powerful like a man but also caring and soft like a Woman. I hear what you talk about it reminds me of and old style Folk music story teller of ancient times and I do at times pick this up in her singing. But Floor is that and much, much more.

I've heard her sing in ... English, Dutch, German, Italian, Spanish, Finnish (pregnant at the time of recording), Swedish, Latin ... it wouldn't surprise me to learn she has sung in other languages. Her voice transcends language and carries us on a journey even when the words escape us, somehow the emotion seems to pull us along.

Floor nailed all her performances on this show which had a bunch of Dutch singers. The concept is one person is chosen each night, and the others have to sing something that either is the chosen person's song or a song that is special to the one person highlighted for the evening.

it's like you say, it makes me happy when Floor sings. But that's also what happens, I always get happier when I hear Floor sing. And I think that is the case with LOTS of people. This show has great idea. Several singers from different genres sings each other's songs every week: everyone tries opera for the opera guy, metal for Floor, etc. This is why you'll see Floor do this for that guy with huge smile and she tries many other genres (kills each, a shocker!). After you hear Shallow and want to say "Lady Gaga, who?", no one will blame you.

The guy who was going crazy, Rolf, it is his song, she made it more rockish and he was blown away. She blows them all away on this show, and did the same on Sing Meinen Song which is in German. Floor actually sang the phone book on a Dutch radio show on the spot and it sounded so good. Floor can sing anything.

Floor is an empath and Highly Sensitive Person so whichever song in whichever style (or language) she feels it so deeply and embodies whatever it is she is doing in that moment which is just truly captivating to experience 🧡 i think that is partly why so many of us feel so drawn to her, I know as an empath and hsp too myself I just felt from the first moment that positive energy even through a screen and it gives that feeling on connection that can be unexplainable!

I love watching the two of you with your reactions. You are so kind and respectful to each other and the music. I think Floor is very empathic and she does explain that she only sings songs she can really 'feel'. I think that is one of the reasons it is so 'magical' when she sings. Most amazing funfact here is that Floor admitted that she had never sang or spoken Spanish before this song. But for Rolf Sanchez and this tv show i guess she took it as a challenge to learn on record time. And i have heard from Rolf and other Spanish speaking people,that she is singing so clear and flawless in Spanish. They simply couldnt believe that she had never spoken or sang Spanish before this. I think what Dominika is talking about is what might be called "Empathetic". Floor sings with such feeling, almost all who listen to her feel exactly how she feels. It's always an emotional roller coaster with Floor, she can make you excited, happy, sad, scream and cry all in the same song! Great reaction , the reason you feel something when she sings is because she is a Hyper sensitive person her feeling the song so deeply while singing it tends to carry into the listener .

If you think this was an emotional performance, check out her cover of "Winner" from the same show. She made the signer/songwriter of the original cry. If you watch the entire season, you will find that his album with this song on it is called "Lions Don't Cry" and he comments in the first episode that he never cries any more. Well, until Floor gets him. And everybody makes the young country singer cry when it is his turn in the hot seat.

I love the concept of this show. It doesn't have a winner - although it does have Floor performing a song called "Winner", which confused some people! Each week focuses on one person, with the rest performing songs which are meaningful to them, then they all get to do duets. Beste Zangers is a show in which singers from different music genres come together and sing a song FROM that person or a song that that person likes to listen to on the middle bench. now it was Rolf Sanchez 's turn . Floor does NOT speak Spanish ! especially for Rolf she learned in 24 hours how to Sing it in Spanish ! and she also adjusted the style of the song in those 24 hours. Sincerely Hollandduck
