Sometimes I was thinking why Floor Jansen always blown my mind for everytime she performed live, from headbanging my metalhead with her Metal songs to crying like a baby with this kind of emotional songs.
As one of the vocal coaches aptly put it, the reason her singing hits so hard is because she uses her versatility and vocal agility to express emotion and to tell the story. Dimash for instance is technically unparalleled, and he can bring emotion too, but sometimes he seems to still show off for the sake of showing off without really helping the story. Floor is ALWAYS using her voice in service to the song and the story she is telling. I feel that's what makes her better than the sum of her allready impressive abilities.
@@lennert8530 Yes I agree. I watch some of Dimas performance too, he really has a great talents but I have the same thought just like you said about him. To be a great singer is not just about how great talent that someone have but also the way when they singing to delivered the story and emotion of the song is important too.
She actually hit #1 in the Dutch itunes with this version! Like you many Dutch people hadnt heard of her before this show ( actually a shamed to admit that ), now we do and we love her as much as her fans around the world do!! Great video again! Hugs from The Netherlands!! 😊
She has used this breathy tonality before in a live situation. If you listen to Nigtwish's The Poet and The Pendulum live at Wembley in 2015, you will hear very similar qualities in the final part of the song. Her breath control is off the scale, as is her placement. The way she uses vibrato as well to add a "cry" is just genius.
Floor has the ability to reach into your chest and give your heart a little squeeze. Just to make sure you are still breathing! There are many great vocalists out there that can sing their ass off, but it is extremely rare to find someone like Floor Jansen. She was whispering to our soul and then she took our breath away. She is my favorite singer in the world. The most beautiful aspect of her talent is that she is a METAL singer, which gives the entire genre a little bit of Respect.
You need to watch Emma Heesters - Strong (written by Floor) from this show. It's super special. You will cry, Floor did. Emma is the lady Floor is singing to here.
Ohhh I'm so glad you're starting to react to Floor (& Even nightwish) more now! : D I've been following you for a while since the O'g3ne/ladies of soul reactions, but Floor is my all time fave singer tbh and Nightwish is a band I listen to almost daily since I was little, I can really suggest listening to them more often, I highly recommend Nightwish - I Want My Tears Back (Wacken 2013) for happy vibes after this emotional performance :)
Denise, again thank's so much for your English transcribed version of Saturday's show, in which she sang this song in. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EmVqLnhJ7Hw.html Reply
I wonder if I translate Floor Interviews into text like earley After Forever ones, can I send the link to the video and the translated Interview to you, because I suck ad Video editing
@@corneliusantonius3108 I am planning on making more translation videos after Beste Zangers is over, so you can also just send the videos to me if you want to, and if you really want to contribute w/ translating that of course is also fine :)

Ik voel dat ik een beetje uit mijn element ben hier 🐱👤
You know what you're talking about man. I love your reactions, they're well informed but passionate without exaggeration which makes them all the more believable. Great job!
Love your reaction 😄 If you love elotional and floor Jansens voice you should react to Nightwish - the poet and the pendulum live at wembley(with lyrics) 😁 this song is the most emotional song they have ever created. When their first singer (Tarja) was fired from the band Toumas(On keyboard also the composer of all their music) went into a Heavy depression. He took all the blame for fireing her Even though it was the entire band that agreed on that. The fans hated him for it and he was so down that he almost went suicidal. Instead of going that far he made this masterpiece that just pours out all his emotions around that time. He actually comits suicide in the song instead of doing it in real life. This song is stil today so Heavy to perform for him that its very rare that they do it. You can see him feeling it all through the song and the bassist(Marco) and guitarist(Emppu) going over to support him. Hope you give this song a reaction 👍😁
This one affected me the least. I felt more emotion during Mama and I didn't understand a word she said. And don't even get me started on Ruben's song. This one doesn't do anything for me, probably because I really don't like the original song at all. Floor is, of course, amazing. The song though, meh.
I listened to the original version after this and it felt a little emotionless in comparison. Which is crazy because the original was actually really emotional.
So thats two for two now, first Henk breaks you, now 1 day later, Floor breaks you :D Genuine reactions, i love it, never change Nephi, your love for music is contagious :D ty for this lovely reaction, i really like this version, stripped back to its bare essentials, its a fragile love song, and eventho i do love the original too, that isnt as fragile and emotional as this stripped down version. We see this song being covered by a lot of people, but its always studio recordings enhanced with auto tune and other aides (that really dont make it better tbh, takes the life out of the music) How many performances of this song, have we seen being performed live, at this level? Only once. By Floor.
Yes you just don't listen to Floor Jansen you experience her with every song she does. Here as par for the course she takes a great heavy song and put her own spin to produce the 2.0 Floor version, different but still a beautiful song!!Her die-heart fans are even awestruck at her performances on this show as this is the sounds of Floor most have never heard. I wonder how good this would be if she did a duet with Marco with this song. If this song doesn't affect you well you are either dead or have no soul and in either case there is no hope for you. Great review and you reaction was perfect, didn't need words to see how this song was touching you, well done. Here in a small studio no Nightwish, no light or pyro show just a simple instrumentation and that heavenly gift reverberating around the studio walls, any doubt she could be a star in any genre she chose.
This is my favorite as well. Absolute perfection. Believe it or not there are some reactors (ok a couple) that aren't all that impressed by this rendition of shallow. Yeah, I couldn't believe it either. Anyway, great reaction as always. Looking forward to the next one! PEACE bro.
I'm from The Netherlands and before De Beste Zangers (the best singers) I've never heard or seen her before. It's a shame. She is international well-known, and her homr country doesn't know her. But now I do know her. Glennis Grace and Floor Jansen are now my all time favorite female Dutch singers.
you sooo expected her to slay it, you where just waiting for drums guitars etc to kick in and her to explode. but she somehow managed to keep it so small and make that work!
Nothing wrong with crying, do it all the time.......of course not ALL THE TIME but on special occasions like this performance. Let's fill the river of tears.
@@Grizzlox Who is going to hate you. It is your preference. It is like me. I prefer Nightwish's cover of the Pink Floyd song High Hopes. Nobody has came after me yet........ :-)
isn't she the vocalist of Nighwish band ? coz I just recently heard a song from a band call Nightwish and the girl looks like her ..or mybe their tatoo happened to be the same .. I might google it afterwards 😅😅😅😅 anyway love her voice sooo much ..her voice and the song choice just touch my heart
@@NephiAcaling wwwooowww 😱so kind of u having a time replying my comment ..my curiosity level was so high that I end up search for her hahahah ..anyway thank you so much ..lots of loves from 1 of your subcribers aka fans from Mlysia🙆🏻♀️🤭🌹💕
I have exact reaction like yours Neph... though in office when watching this vid... but can't help from have teary eyes and the lyrics always hit me so hard... :'(
Nephi, Floor sang this for Emma Heesters because Emma covered the song on her own channel. At the time they recorded Beste Zangers, this was Emma's video with the most views. When they did this show, Emma had the biggest musical RU-vid channel in the Netherlands. Check out ALL of her stuff! If it's up on her channel, it's worth watching! LOVE her!
Hey Nephi, I started to watch your reaction videos from the time you were reacting to Glennis Grace and Davina Michelle, Ladies of Soul and your earlier reactions to Beste Zangers. I watched also several of your reactions to Asian and Philipine artists. Interesting, very beautiful sometimes. But I never could keep up with your output. ;=) If you want to hear more of Floor you can go several directions from here. Some suggested Poet and The Pendulum live at Wembley, from the band in which she is sings, Nightwish. Probably that is a good start to explore some more of her. One suggestion from me: do not think that when you hear one song of that band, you know them. Floor is a versatile singer, but she is in a band that is versatile as well, to say the least. And then you will learn, even when they are playing heavy stuff, the band convey emotions with their music and interaction with the crowd. Also in that respect Floor is in the right band. Greetings from the Netherlands!
And she did some good classical performances as well. A nice bridge between them and the Nighwish eouvre may be her collaboration with Epica (Sancta Terra or Stabat Mater Dolorosa, both live Restrospect tour of Epica). Enjoy! :=)
I've really enjoyed your reactions to Floor's singing. Now it's time for you to react to one of her non-head voice metal songs -- just her unabashed full chest voice. Please give a listen, as much for yourself as for me, to "Storytime" from the Wacken 2013 concert. Her personae is completely different from the one she presents while performing "Ghost Love Score." Not light and airy but rather more like "This is my stage, I rule it , and by God you will love me for it!"
If you like this song maybe you should also take a look at Sharon den Adel singing the Bette Middler song "The rose". She sang this song for Belgium version of this program. FYI Sharon is the vocalist from the symphonic metal band Within Temptation. The band makes music that can be compared to Nightwish. Here is the link. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-H1Jn8sJTzqc.html
Thanks for sharing this. I think she did OK, but way too much vibrato. I wonder why she chose to do it that way?? Sharon has such a *beautiful* voice - she should never hide it behind vibrato. Let it ring out loud and clear! 🥰
that song is one of my favorites, tx for sharing. i wished Sharon wouldn't have hurried through the song like that, she cut the end of the words; otherwise, she's got a great voice and good skills
I love your reaction videos. I am Dutch man of 50 years old. And i love your warm hearted reaction video's. There is another good famous dutch female singer in the Netherlands. She is called Anita Meyer and she is born in 1954. She has also a very good singing voice. She was also on beste zangers 2017. Listen to this from west side story --- somewhere: @. I hope you like it. It would be nice if you do also a reaction video to it.
You need to react to Yannis Papadopoulos vocal cover of Ghost Love Score! He is the singer of the band Beast in Black witch you should also have a look at. Amazing male vocalist!
You really need to do something to stop the noise in your room. Maybe you could buy a simple, fairly cheap, but effective Shure SM58 and put it on a mic stand right in front of you. That way you can avoid all the background noises, because the SM58 wouldn't pick it up. Personally I found it extremely difficult to listen through the whole video, because the noise drove me insane. And I'm not even that kind of guy. I liked your reaction though.
