In this sequence, we will put together spins and some acrobatics elements. This first video is about bum and hip spins.
This long format video, inspired from the videos I send in my online coaching, takes you step by step through the beginning of the sequence we have been studying in class in May with my beginner and intermediate students.
Check the S role and 90 90 back roll tutorials first to have the foundations for this one.

• Tutorial - S rôlé
90 90 back roll:

A few insider's note:
- in the rainbow, make sure the head never bears more than 10 per of the weight. Whatever conditioning bs you can read out there doesn't justify poor technique. Work on the weight transfer across your upper back and leave your little neck muscles and cervicals alone on this one.
- in the 90 90 waves, aim at not landing at all on your knee, which is not fleshy and not really designed to absorb this kind of direct impacts. It is really the side of the leg that reaches the floor, and that is made possible by you pushing on the top part of the front foot, where the foot knuckles are.
These sequences will teach you about transitions and how to put newly acquired movements together. They are a good way to start playing with the terminology you acquire through the tutorials.

I think floorwork is absolutely beautiful and almost always feels, like, intimate. Any suggestions for conditioning for shoulder rolls? I haven't done them but twice and it's been a long time on top of it all. I remember how hard they were, but I want to get better this year.

Hey Stormy, shoulder rolls, as long as you are not loading the neck and avoiding as much as possible the bony parts of your body, are quite a gentle move... but they can bruise a skin that lost habituation to it. You can defo start your practice back with some rolls on mats or towels to gently recondition them. Head to the forum for more tips like that and if you have any more question ;) : discord.gg/s7jeMprzZT
