Florence Scovel Shinn (1871-1940): An unsung Spiritual Teacher 

She was an excellent teacher. Her work changed my life. I listen to the Power of the Spoken Word daily.

She was way ahead of her time but so relevant for today. I just learned about her 3 weeks ago. I can't stop watching the videos. She is so powerful and so right on. I think she's one of the greatest voices I have ever heard. Her wisdom and teachings should be the model for spiritual education.

I came across Florence Scovel Shinn the game of life and how to play when I really needed, I used to think life was a battle, the game of life changed by thinking and outlook on life, it if I can recall I may have read her book secret door to success as a pre teen. I loved your video! I found Florence Scovel Shinns audiobooks 3 yrs ago. I devoured them! Her perspective combines trust in a supportive and benevolent Divine Intelligence that has already empowered each of us with the ability to mold our realities in every way with our thoughts words and behaviors to benefit us and our world. If our attention and intention is for love and goodwill we will manifest a reality based on these concepts and vice versa...Adopting her ideas and pruning my thoughts have created such synchronicity in my life over the years. She was so special wasn't she? She had beautifully powerful intentions. She was way ahead of her time. Bless her for putting her message out back in the 1800's early 1900's. You touched on something really important and that is belief. You have to believe that whatever you're wanting, it's already yours. Believe it and then watch it manifest. How is this possible that I am only finding her now after ALL of the MANY people I have read and listened to in this space?!? Well, it's divine interjection and love that brought me to her teachings. She came into life 2 years ago. And her words have profoundly changed my life. It's wonderful to see someone who loves her as much as I do.

I meant to read agnostic material and came across Florence Scovel Shin in a RU-vid prompt. I have been looking for this metaphysical teacher all my life to confirm what I already knew.

Much of her writings are taken from the Bible. I enjoy listening to her. My mental attitude has changed for the better.

Yes lovely discussion of Florence….. The idea of a woman clearing the path in the early 20th Century is a very big deal. And she is only known by the special few who resonate with her in a powerful way. In the 1950s The power of positive thinking was published by Norman Vincent Peale. He is well known and his writings lines up to Shinns and is quite similar.

i had never heard of her until yesterday i loved what i heard so modern sounding the language doesn't feel old i feel like getting loads of copies of this book to give away this message is so important I did that thing where you thought you wanted. Something and when you get it it means nothing

I think FSS belongs to a completely different higher level genre. Connecting with her work happens only when the time is ripe to open our flood gates of possibility. I have not come across with any writer who makes me feel as if I am I am in the doorstep of making intangible things to a tangible form. My heartfelt respects to FSS, a divine avatar. 🙏

I’ve been a seeker my whole life it feels and I just discovered her work a fee days ago and I am shocked I had not heard of her before! I want to know her biography! How did she come to her teachings? I want to know everything!

Wikipedia and other sources state that she was born in 1870 and died in 1940 and those sources make a point of clarifying that the "Power of the Spoken Word" is a student's compilation of her notes, which was published after her death in 1945. Great post, nonetheless!

Of course because it's YHWHs laws I listened to her book for over 2hrs and apart from all the ungodly words like karma everything she goes back to for the foundation she built her life on is YHWHs kingdom way.

She is alright but not infallible. People should try what works and leave behind what doesn't.
