Hey Mickey... everything is good in FL. Hope you are well inNJ. Sorry the videos stopped, just lost motivation with it. If you use FB, send an invite! Kevin Dubicki Ocala...should be easy to find. This past winter the fishing has been great...I should have had those cameras rolling. Tight lines Mickey and thanks for reaching out.
Just getting into kayak fishing. I also live close to Yankeetown. Hope to see you out there soon. Actually, I may have seen you last week, just North of the new ramp. I was in the Tracker with the center console. I may have accidently stopped where you were planning on fishing next. I apologize if I did. I waved for you to come on in front of me but I don't think you understood. Sincerely, Tony
Hi Kevin, I had a ceramic guide insert pop out last week. I cleaned the insert and ring with auto brake cleaner and alcohol to remove any dirt and oil. Then I pushed the insert back into the ring. With the rod tip straight up, I put a few drops of super glue (not the thick stuff) around the insert and sprinkled some baking soda on the super glue. Then put a few drops of glue on the baking soda. It turns into a very hard epoxy like compound. Do the same to the other side of the insert. It holds like a rock. You can also use it for other repairs. There are several RU-vid videos about super glue and baking soda repairs. Good luck, Mickey
mickey h Hi Mickey... hope you are well! I always like your tips, so keep them coming. The metal ring that the ceramic goes into is cracked. I still bet the epoxy trick would work, but I am going to just replace it. The local tackle shop charges $15 for a new guide professionally wrapped. They use Fuji guides as well. Thanks for watching and Tight Lines!
Hi Kevin, I agree, if the ring or insert are cracked, they probably won't hold with epoxy. The super glue and baking soda work if the insert and ring are in good condition. Take care, Mickey
Thanks Mickey... I’m in Marion county, so cat 1 possible here... went fishing yesterday at St. Martins river...3 catfish...not good enough for a video...probably won’t fish till after the storm.... Tight lines...
Hey Kevin, are you finding the fish bite better on the incoming tide out there ? I fish there about every Saturday and it seems better when the tide is coming in. Tight lines brother
Hey Eddie... yep I like fishing the incoming tide. When the tide is low I usually fish the outer sand bars where I can find deeper cuts running along them. Thanks for the comment and tight lines!
@@FloridaKayakFishing good to know sir, I haven't found the outer bars yet. Only been fishing in a kayak since December. Your videos are the only reason I even tried the bay. Thanks for the reply and right liines.
Hi Andrew.... I still fish quite a bit. I put down the youtube for a while since the water was hot and the fishing slow. The weather i s cooling now and I hope to be back at it soon. I apologize for the delays. Regards, Kevin
