Hi I’m Kevin.
I put my passion for fishing and adventure aside for 30 years while I embarked on a career and raised a family. All well worth it…. But now, I AM BACK! I have time, passion and all of Florida to explore. Follow along and see what kind of trouble we can get in together.

Nice video! My anchor has a chain attached to the end so it'll be a little different for me, but will try to do this as it makes sense

My first time Kayaking and this Kayak held strong. ru-vid.comUgkx4k5UrhC3v_Y4hIEaXLGvHcN5a5aBmZNB The water got pretty rough as a speed boat zipped by me, and the Kayak withstood it (I expected to be capsized). The Ores are very easy to put together, the pump worked beautifully. the seats are a bit hard to sit in after a while (I recommend sitting on the floor). after reading the reviews I was very scared it'd get a hole in it, the material is very strong and durable. The Air valve may need a small Phillips head screwdriver to adjust, other than that, it's well worth the money!(update)I've gone Kayaking in 3 Lakes and 2 rivers totaling about 40 miles. the kayak had two holes and they patched easily and no other problems can't wait for kayaking season this year!

Very clear instructions. In the water, this will never work. The longer the cord is, the more elastic it gets; the ziptie will never snap. Also, you will never have that angle (that is, the cord vertically going down to the anchor): most of the times, if not all of the times, the cord will come at a small angle, almost as an extension of the anchor shaft, which, yet again, will make snapping the ziptie impossible.

Definitely works. I’ve had to use mine before. I only use one zip tie though.

I'm wandering what the point is in attaching the rope to the top end with a cable tie? Can't you just attach it to the grapple end and be done? No snagging no cable ties job done?

Thanks for the video. My wife and I have lost 1.5lb anchors every weekend for the last 3 weekends. They're not really expensive but I hate knowing the line is left in the water to create snags. I'll be trying this technique. Thanks again.

Hi Kevin, thank you for the tutorial and I love the setup. We just bought a 13' tandem kayak for the family to use in NE FL. Will the 3.5 lbs anchor hold, or should I get the 5.5 lbs.?

I liked your idea and the presentation. I have a new weed anchor and will be securing it as you have shown but will use black tie straps as they are more resistant to UV than white.

Hi... Great video... Can you or anyone else give an Amazon link to that anchor, please? I can't seem to find a red one... I'm not crazy about a silver one because I don't think it's very visible under the water... Cheers...

I learned how to do eye splices on line in the Navy, but wouldn't a well-tied bowline knot work just as well for attaching the line to the anchor? Bowlines don't slip and can be untied if needed instead of cut like a splice would need to be.

I'm glad I waited until the end so I could understand why you attached it on the bottom. That's a good design. Thanks.

Thanks for the video. Does this anchor do okay in 60ft in the keys for a jetski?
