Highlights from the collegiate national ultimate tournament in madison wisconsin in 2010. The Gators won their second title in 5 years, and beat their opponents by an average of 6.3 goals a game. Enjoy the footage.
I used to play with these guys for a few years. UF campus, Flavet Field 9pm on Mondays and Thursdays. Most of them are pretty good. All those games on Flavet Field shaped the best Ultimate players in the world.
don't kno y but a smile spreads across my lips right at around 0:11 evry time.. it's like i can rem'r exactly where i was when i 1st saw this video. the music. the plays. the game. the memories of falling in love w/ Ultimate all ovr again.
You guys continue to inspire me to play at my best and teach as much as i can to others who want to play as well. Started playing my senior year in high school and became quickly my favorite sport to play, made high school team and we placed 5th in state. I wish i could go play for Florida. And i wish frisbee gave out scholarships:)
some of the best people i've played with have been short. don't let that discourage you, ultimate isn't about speed or height (don't get me wrong those things help) but if you can read the disc and see the field sometimes thats better being tall and being short doesn't mean you can't jump high =)
Seriously? I can't get a shoutout? Dang... Just kidding. Sick video. I'll just consider you using a couple of my pics as thanks enough. First video of yours I've watched where I actually watched most of the plays live. Hopefully that's a trend that continues.
guys as a single game is another very important thing is the music chosen a very very good i see the video until the song ends the first congratulate greeetings from colombia
@cooldude4193 Everyone in the stands was booing Florida this game. Florida is decidedly unpopular in the ultimate community. They had some SICK hucks this highlight, especially in the Carleton game.
dude im 5 feet 4 and i play against people that are at least 6 feet and my teamates call me a monster cuz i make big defensive plays and layouts its all about losing ur defender on offense, just be intense and put effort ull c results good luck!
@asammler id say speed and ups is part of talent, i know a 5'7 guy who can almost out jump my 29" vert while i stand at 5'11. you clearly miss all the defensive layouts they make... if someon can destroy your offenses because you dont know how to avoid the layout then they have the true talent
@OvrTheHills I think your getting the spirit of the game and the rules of the game confused. True Florida calls a lot more fouls then other teams but that is a part of the game, you see a foul you call it. The spirit is simply enjoying the game for what it is competitive. My high school team has a rival we play twice a year and yeah we yack it up and call fouls and contest during the game but afterwards we all laugh it off and just be friendly.
@srqultimate Plays dirty? I know that they do commit a lot of fouls, but they don't do it on purpose. They are always full of energy and are always aggressive. I know its a non contact sport, but you got to be aggressive to catch the Frisbee. They want to be the best, and they deserve it.
nono... ultimate is important height but, speed is important too. And, you are young now, im sure you will be a tall guy~ Hmm.. most of all , i think technique is really really important .. height? it just a bubble gum ! pop!
Look, I'll admit, Florida often has a tendency to play dirty. But that doesn't nullify the fact that their players have incredible talent. Just a lot of them can be a bit of douches about it.
