Hi Carolyn! So glad you didn't lose power. I love the intro with Jack loving on you!!! I'm having fun with the Brrringo challenges. I'm behind on a few, but for the most part this challenge has had me putting stitches in some projects that haven't seen the light of day for quite a while. One of them I hadn't touched for 2 years and now I'm obsessed with it and hope to finish it soon. Thanks so much for sharing with us!!!!

I love that birth sampler. I think it would also be so beautiful with your John Lennon quote at the end of your videos in the middle. I’m not sure it would all fit though but I think the flowers would complement the verse so well. I love your new winter background pieces. Good luck with your weather. Losing power is the worst.

I enjoyed seeing everything you worked on. Busy lady!! It's a little after 6 and the power is still on in Canby...thank heavens. But boy have our lights been flickering. I just took my doggie out and it isn't snowing it is icy sleet. Everything is coated in ice. I hope your electricity stays on. Great evening for stitching!!

I understand your feelings about losing power. I had a problem with my roof during Hurricane Irene many years ago, and heavy rains can still make me a little nervous even though I KNOW my new roof is fine. I've enjoyed BRRINGO so much this month! It's given me quite a jump on the pieces that I wanted to get progress on as I've done the same as you have and pull the project out for the evening. I'm also very happy with the fact that the only thing that I have to make up is my time on Earth Dancer. Vintage Smoky White and Vintage Stormy Clouds are two of my current favorites for fabrics. They add just a bit of "something" to a piece without distracting from the stitching and they're available in a bunch of counts and fabrics and are pretty affordable if you need a large piece. 🪡👠

Ah Jack is such a nice boy! I think the worse thing about no power is no hot water for a shower!! We had a episode here in W Pa of no gas for almost a week. It was in a confined area, so I was able to go to an adjoining town to a friend's house to shower. Also, it was in the fall so not so bitterly cold. I appreciate our utilities a lot more. I enjoy seeing how you fit all your stitching into the prompts. I find if I do a small or two in between the larger pieces my sense of accomplishment is satisfied. Keep warm!!

My FAVORITE part of all these challenges you play is listening for how you make everything you want to stitch fit into the puzzles!

Hello sweet friend and Jack! Gal, you are going new start crazy! I thought I was bad with 4 new starts this month but you have me beat already! You made really great progress on all of your pieces. Love the thread for your Songs of the Season Quaker. I don't know how I am going to make it through the rest of the day. Walter fell asleep on the drive from a birthday party, so fell asleep about 5 p.m. but at 3:30 a.m., as I was getting ready to head to bed, he woke up and was full of play and showing no signs of napping yet at 10 a.m. so no sleep for me. Still trying to get Christmas stuff put away. Took mom's cat to the vet to the tune of over $300+ to find out that she is basically a healthy 15-year-old cat with not finding out why she is vomiting all the time. They did give mom some medicine to give her so will see what that does for her. Still fighting the crud but it does seem to be improving. We are currently at 25 degrees with a feels like of 9. Supposed to be subzero wind chills before this is over and possible icing. Hopefully this will be our only winter storm and we don't lose power. Did you end up losing power? The part of Michigan I used to live in just got blasted with 12-15" of wet, heavy snow and many people are without power. Enjoy your short work week. Love and hugs to you and the boys. You've made great progress on your wips this week and everything looks beautiful. I loved seeing your snuggling kitty cat at the beginning - so cute!

I use scroll frames religiously...because I like my fabric tight as a drum. For me, the secret is loading the fabric on the frame. I find that the straighter I load it on each bar,the tighter it will be. Loading the fabric straight requires patience (which I sometimes lack). Some tricks I've used is to draw a straight line on the bar itself, and then follow the line when I adhere my fabric. Also, I attach my fabric with Velcro. It all works for me. And lastly, when you roll up the fabric do it slowly so that you keep it straight. Sorry for the long post, it's hard to explain. Good luck

I saw a video that it was very bad weather in the Portland area. On the video they showed a house that was taken by water. Terrible. I hope all is well with you and that you haven't had any outages of power. Beautiful stitching. Stay warm. We had snow last night. My son is off today and all the groceries are in the house. Luckily we don't have to go out. Very nice week 😘

Glad you mentioned what those two pieces behind you were, because I was mesmerized by the birds and I had intended to ask about it,. So now I cannot wait to see it closer next time. The tiny cat on its purple fence looks great. And your cat was remarkable, such discretion is rarely seen in cats. :) So no kisses in front of the camera policy, but my cat would have reacted with his paws, yours was much more delicate. :)

I have that chart from Vivster’s! I also have couple others of hers with rainbow variations and a Christmas tree one… so pretty!!

Hi Carolyn I just admire you for working on so many different projects. Where I live at - the regular temp is -10 Below Zero Degrees F and the Windchill Factor is a -27 Degrees F Below Zero. Great stitching so far this year. I am doing the Canada Flag from Vivster just waiting for the floss and fabric to come in from 123stitch I am doing it on 16 count aida. Happy Stitching Patty

Handwork maniac uses some pretty cool stretchy clasps on her frames. Ive found them on Etsy bit I don't remember what they're called but they look like short suspenders! They stretch the sides so it tightens up the whole piece when using a Rolla frame.

I have just heard, that if you ask the designer of the Quaker Flags nicely, she will combine two flags for you, so that you don't have to stitch two full flags. I don't know if she can manage 3 🤷🏻‍♀ Happy stitching 🪡🧵❄

stay safe please. We have high winds,snow, thick ice,no power thunder and severe cold. I am in hibernation mode for a while. I was ticked day storm hit I hit to miss a party. ugh. I dislike what I am stitching on and need to change projects soon.

Hope you are ok. My friend in Lake Oswego said there were twenty trees down in her neighborhood alone. They lost power but the roads were clear enough so her family was able to get out to a hotel today. Not sure where you are but sounded really bad.

Ooh, how dangerous😜 it is to watch your video's. You have such beautiful patterns and I want so much of them too. That red bandsampler, that you are stitching in blue, or that new one you bought with those Christmaspatterns and specialty stitches. And I have to have the Quaker Christmas II, and I have looked at the quaker flags from Vivster. Those are sooo beautiful, but very large and I don't can have to many WIPS.. So what to do? 🤔
