You can totally get the dye bleeds out of that red and white table runner! My mom makes quilts and she had the same problem on a king sized quilt that took her so long to complete. All you need to do is put it in a tub of water with blue dawn dish soap. Put some soap directly on the spots with the most bleeding and then a little more in the water. Let it sit and the dye will come out into the water. Then repeat until the water is clean and the stains are gone. Works like a charm!
Oh gosh, thank you for that tip!!! I “ruined” a beautiful quilt I made with red that I swore I had pre-washed. I’ll get it out of the box and try this.
It might take some patience and multiple rounds with the dawn but it hasn’t failed us yet haha. My mom had a navy blue fabric bleed when I was really young and then she tried this method a couple years ago and the 15 year old dye bleed came out no problem!
Love the tree and mantel. Your projects are always amazing I don't know how you do it all with 3 children ( tell the truth you have a little Genie to help) stitching, and now cake decorating! WOW! I'm sure there is a ton of back story that we aren't privy to but Meri and Christine hadn't really talked since LV (over 4 years). It's like 'dude, why are you being straight up mean for no reason?'. Now, it does put a lot into perspective. It puts the catifshing situation in a new light. So, there was a positive but at what cost?
