Good luck with your surgery and prayers for a speedy recovery. We’ll be here no matter how long it takes you to get back online. Thank you enjoyed stitching along with you. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️
Yay loved the video! So sorry you’ve had a tough few months. (Little side note: I found it harder to hear you with the music in the background sorry. I think personally I would prefer no music or very quiet. But maybe other people didn’t find it as distracting as I did) xxx
I was rather distracted by the music too. I would have preferred no music at all. Love all the beautiful blues on your piece. Good luck with the operation. Just think what you will be like in a couple of months - running around with your cute dogs! Love your videos.
Had the surgery in 2018, with a spinal and the “ relaxing” meds. I wasn’t aware of anything for hours later. The recovery was super quick. I hope all goes as well for you.
I had exactly the same for my knee replacement and I knew nothing about it until they woke me up in recovery. Trust me it was fantastic and I came around super quick! It’s the least of my worries about my second total knee replacement coming soon! Good luck xx
Hope your surgery went well. You told us about the Purelite lamp and said it was a game changer for you .I love watching the things you do . So I ordered one and you were right -wow I love it.I live in a small town in the state of Washington USA so it took awhile to get here, but it was well worth it . Thanks for the information
Wishing you all the best with your surgery. I would be leary of spinal anesthesia too. I, too, lost my stitchy bug for at least 6 months but I got it back and I'm stitching again.
Gosh, Your talking made me cry😢 I so feel “ What “ and “ How “ You feel ! You are so brave and I’m sure everything will go Perfect!!!🍀🍀🍀🤞🤞🤞There are soooo many “stitchy” people & other ppl of course too, who are praying for the great outcome on Your surgery 🍀🍀🍀 Stay strong as always, we love YOU❤️❤️❤️
Just what I needed to stitch along to 😀 I'm doing John Enright Deep Blue Sea. Biggest piece so far 😀 all of my tips and accessories have come from watching you so thank-you 😊 my partner doesn't thank you because I've spent alot lol x
Teresa, all the best with the surgery. Although, I'd say, don't get too hopeful in terms of stitching. I literally just did a keyhole surgery in March, and I was expecting to be bouncing back really fast because everyone said it's a small surgery. I could only start stitching properly almost a week later. It's not so much the pain, it's the energy level that just didn't exist. Let us know how you went once you could manage to do so and good luck!!!
This is Monday morning in Washington State USA…..thinking of You and Family as You are coming out of your surgery…..Blessings on your recovery……but this is sooooo much fun stitching along with You……remembering “stitching is a journey “…..your choice of music is thoroughly relaxing and a gift of itself….
So happy to see that you are back on Flosstube. I love your videos😊. I hope your mom is doing better. Good luck with your surgery today.💜 Our lives are running a little parallel right now. New puppy in Nov '21, 2 deaths in the family since the New Year and my mom has been in and out of hospital with heart issues for the last 3 mos. Here's to surviving life's ups and downs!🍷🥂
Thoughts and prayers are with you, Teresa. Although with your spunk you'll be up and out walking the girls before you know it. I'm curious though as to why they won't put you out? Something medical on your end, lazy anaesthetist or both have golf games. But you'll never know till you ask, right. Well, you're probably in the midst of your future health right now so I hope all went well. You HAVE to get at those dahlias!! Love you and will chat again once you feel up to it. (P.S. Maybe it would be best if you worked on a piece that gave you great joy, rather than working on a piece that made you unhappy while you're having an emotional dilemma. Just sayin'.) Take care. Hugs from Canada!!
Happy to see you stitching again. I always love watching and listening to you while your stitching. I will be thinking of you and sending prayers for a successful surgery and quick recovery. I am like you that I would rather be completely out during the surgery. What if they are in the process and you hear someone say, “Oops”! I mean really, I would go nuts. No, I want to be completely out of it. Maybe it would be better listening to a book during the surgery, if they do the spinal block. I hope you are able to do some sort of flosstubes while you are recuperating but if you can’t, I would rather you be comfortable. No pressure. Look forward to seeing you again.❤️🪡🧵❤️
Having had both general and spinal when going under the knife, I can say that I would prefer spinal over general anyday. Spinal may seem more frigthening, but you don't really know what's going on when it happens. My first time, I brought my phone and heaphones because, like you, I was afraid of being aware of what was happening, but the medication is quite strong, and the music helped me stay in my little bubble of unawareness. For me, general was just too much. Nausea went on for days afterward, waking up after is tough and the pain just hits you all at once, plus your throat hurts because they monitored your breathing with a tube all along, etc. Not fun times. I felt much better after spinal than I ever did with my general ones. But the important thing is that you are comfortable with your choice (hopefully they will listen) and that you have a quick recovery! Good luck! I wish you well!
Enjoyed the visit and stitching with you Teresa very much!! I'm praying for you about your surgery today etc. I understand fully how your feeling. I had 2 back to back in 1 year major back surgery on 2 disc and rods and plates..I had a harder time going back for the 2nd surgery than going for the 1st and the closer it got the more I felt like you. People think because you've done it once its not as scarey the second....plus then you find out they aren't planning on putting you under general anesthetic. But I have faith in you and know that you will do just find. Praying for a speedy recovery and of course that all goes well with the surgery. My daughter and new grandbaby made it home safe and sound...he is so tiny and perfect 👌 🥰 looking forward to your next update
Enjoyed listening/watching your stitch a long. I understand where you are with “not seeing the progress”. I found that I will do a small project here and there so I can have a finish & feel I have an accomplishment. Best of luck on your surgery!! Look forward to seeing you soon!
After having my own share of operations I don't blame you for any of your apprehension on your hip surgery. I hope that your recovery will be easy and you'll be able to crosstitch with your friends who enjoy stitching with you. Be well and happy with your family..♡♡♡
Good luck with the surgery later on today🍀. For some reason I thought nowadays the Drs didn't like patients to rest and wanted them to be up and about. This brought back memories of when I had the pain relief injections in my back, never again it was so painful and lasted two ducking weeks. Hope you're up and about painfree very soon
You were being totally brave!! I had surgery to remove a benign tumour from my liver in 2015 and I was told by my anaesthetist that they were going to give me a spinal block (like you) along with the general anaesthetic. I was absolutely terrified by the idea of a spinal injection that I left the hospital in tears. I ended up ringing the customer relations person and telling her that I couldn’t possibly have a spinal injection (I have a debilitating phobia of needles) and that I never wanted to deal with the anaesthetist who told me the spinal injection was my only option and that I would just have to get over my fear. The woman said she would see what she could do about changing me to another anaesthetist, but I didn’t find out that she’d worked it out till I got to the hospital on the morning of the operation and an anaesthetist with a warm manner totally the opposite to the other guy told me there was no need for me to have an injection at all (at least not while I was awake), he could just give me a 10 mg Valium and I’d fall asleep in total peace. Never let a doctor force you into doing something you aren’t comfortable with - there’s almost always a different way to get the treatment you need.
I hope I will be able to stich just did all my Radisson 10 rounds and 4 rounds of chemo. Please please send prayers my way as I have Bipolar to deal with also.. Love your Channel you bring my spirit up God Bless to all people 🙏
Thinking of you today with your surgery and praying for a speedy recovery for you. I think it is very understandable how you were feeling about the surgery, I would be exactly the same with the thought of not having a general anaesthetic ❤ Your stitching is beautiful.
Good luck with the surgery, I didn’t have a GA either with mine and it was fine, you will feel like you have had, as you won’t remember anything, when I came around I said ‘I hope this isn’t on Facebook’ 😅 after 4 weeks I was able to walk my dogs on a crutch. I felt up to most things after a week or so, I live alone so had to carry on regardless
Hi Hun, I've had several procedures just after my transpl where I was semi awake, they had a big screen that I could see everything the surgeon was doing, very strange but you will be fine and yes young lady you do need to have the operation lol I'm due mine in about 6 weeks but I definitely will be put to sleep. Good luck for Monday and a very speedy recovery xxx
My 95 year old gram had a hip fracture repaired without general anesthesia. They were afraid to put her under and gave a block. Her primary doc gowned up and sat holding her hand during the surgery. Small midwest town, she did great. I think noise is the biggest issue that would freak me out. I pray for easy going for you and quick recovery.
I had a total left hip replacement in 2017. Mine feels so much better and recovery was great. They did mine from the front of the hip so recovery time was shorter and I think less painful. Please let us know how you are.
Hi Teresa, I certainly hope your surgery goes well and you’re feeling better soon! Thank you for all that you do, I think I speak for everyone when I say we all love you to the moon and back! Rest up and get well soon!!
This is the first video of yours I’ve ever seen - I love your stitching this pattern looks amazing 🤩 I hope you’re doing well post surgery, I’ll try and catch up on some of your videos as a new sub ❤
Stitching along with you! Spanish captions which was disconcerting but I’ve got that sorted!,🤣🤣🤣. Great to see you are stitching again, hope you are happy to be back xx
The trick is to stay on top of your pain . With my husband , I kept a log , every time I gave him some meds , I wrote down the time and what meds I gave him . And the date . As for the spinal shot , your not going to know what's going on , you'll see... your going to be just fine.
Teresa,. Just had a friend have her hip replaced with the same procedure as yours. After the spinal block they gave her Rhohypnol so she didn't see our feel anything. I had mine done 6 years ago under general anesthesia and i had a little longer recovery. Today i don't even think about it. My only advice is just follow all the doctors instructions after surgery and stay faithful to your therapy. If i knew then what i know now i would have had mine done at least 3 years earlier. There is no better feeling than to wake up with no hip pain at all.
Hi Teresa, well, you are post surgery now and I hope it all went well and that your not to uncomfortable. I'm interested in your recovery because I'm on the waiting list for hip replacement too and like you am worried about being awake while they do it because of the sawing and banging. I had knee surgery several years back with a spinal and that wasn't too bad as it wasn't noisy, I even watched the op on the screen as he was doing it! Wishing you well and hope you have a speedy recovery.
Teresa I havehad both knees replaced and I had a spinal block and it was great, much better recovery than a general and much safer for you. Yes I was worried but after surgery I went into rehab for 2 weeks and met people who had hip replacement and they were soooo glad they had it done, yes the first couple of weeks are pretty uncomfortable but grit your teeth, do the therapy and it tok me about 5 to 6 weeks life was back to normal, driving, gardening ect albeit slowly. Yes stairs are not a good idea at first.. Chin up love and go for it.
Im glad to see you decided to stay on the floor without stairs. The key to recovery is the therapy exercises. I cant speak much on that because it sounds like they do things very different there than in the US. For instance when my husband thought they were not going to put him to sleep, he became very very anxious about it until they explained what they meant is they werent going to do the tube down the throat method and that a general anesthesia would be used. I really hope they put you to sleep because I dont think I would want to be aware of anything going on. Please let us know how you do even if its not a stitch with me. Please jump on an let us see that you are ok. Praying for successful surgery and speedy recovery for you.
Teresa I have missed you and have praying for both you and your mother. I have not watched the video yet, because I had to write to tell you that you have been missed. I talk to you with video like you are my sister and having a conversation with you. Now on to the show
First things first. I do hope your surgery today went well and that your recovery goes to plan. It is a big surgery and it takes a toll on you to go through. 12 wips is nothing. it took me 40+ minutes to show all mine in my wip parade and I dont want to know how many I have and that I have but need to restart. (and I love blue! I am stitching mermaid hunt, it is almost only blue)
Hi Teresa! Just wondering how your surgery went. Did you get the general anesthetic? I hope so! How are you feeling now, a week later? I hope your pain level isn’t too great. Have you felt like stitching yet, or is it too much? Thinking of you. Take care. ❤️🇨🇦
Hey Kim! Thank you for checking in on me 😉 Yes I'm 2 weeks post op today and still sore but I am a little more mobile now and have managed to get a bit of stitching in lol. I did get my general anesthetic thankfully so I have no knowledge of anything they done till I woke up lol. Now just to recover and get mobility back - I'm missing my gardening and walking the dogs. But the down side will be that I will be back working in the West End of London as soon as I come off sick leave. I guess I have to go back sometime lol. Thank you for checking in on me - Happy stitching lovely flosstube friend!
You as the patient have the RIGHT to refuse any treatment options. INSIST on general anaesthetic for your mental well-being. Tell them it would be too traumatising otherwise. Good luck on your procedure.
Yes you have the right but I think you would be much better off listening to your doctors, they do this every day and know the pros and cons far better than you do, trust them the spinal is much betterand safer, I was wide awake soon after surgery and there was no pain as the block takes time to wear off.
I had a spinal for a knee replacement . You don’t know anything about it. When they say sedation and spinal, they mean deep sedation. Don’t worry. You recover much more quickly without a general . I phoned my husband 30 minutes after surgery. It will be fine.
I pray you surgery goes well. The first time I heard about floss tube was see you last year showing Alternative Reality. I bought it immediately max color. I have no idea when I will get it done but fell in love with it. You have a few more patterns that I have bought since. I love your stitching it stunning. Again I will be praying for you but I know you will be fine. I also love this peacock picture. Will have to take another look. Enabler 🤣😂. Just kidding. God bless and take care, stay safe and happy stitching and recovery ❤️
Hope your surgery went well and that you have a quick and easy recovery. It's so nice to see you back, but no pressure if life gets busy for you again. You were my introduction to Flosstube last fall and because of you, my stitchy bug came back after more than 20 years. I'm working on a couple of 22 year old wips, so don't feel bad about yours. Be well and thanks for sharing.
Good luck with your surgery this week!! My husband had a hip resurfacing surgery two years ago. It was rough for him the first few days but the key things seemed to be to keep swelling down. Use the pain meds that they prescribe and really work to keep things elevated to keep swelling at a minimum. You’ll be back on your feet in no time! ❤️
Yayyyy....im so Happy to see this on my notification 1st thing this morning!! But im going to have to stitch with you later on....my new grandbaby and daughter are coming home today and im still trying to get everything perfect 👌 for their homecoming!! So sadly will probably be tomorrow that I will be able to visit and stitch with you....so looking forward to this but also very excited and happy about my new grandson....#16 and only 3 granddaughters out of all these grandchildren....hope to stitch with you soon, still stitching on Mr and Mrs Cardinal,im at 30% finally....have a great day Teresa 🥰
I have started my first HEAD. All of your lovely pieces inspired me. I started it on my 30th birthday so I can keep track of how many years it takes me. I wish you well with your surgery.
It's wonderful to see you again, Teresa. I'm finishing up Cumberland Rose, Nora Corbett, as we stitch today. All the very best for your surgery tomorrow. To be nervous is very understandable; frankly, I'd worry about you if you weren't!! Prayers for an easy go tomorrow, and will see you on the "other side" when you're all fixed up and recovering with your 2-legged and 4-leggedfamily and stitching! :)
Just watched your video and always amazed how you count, cross stitch and chat all the same time. You are the best! Sent a prayer for peace of mind about your surgery and that it will be successful , speedy , complete recovery . God Bless
Hey there new to the channel and I'm loving it! Just started stitching again after a very long break, it's been years! This is just what I needed to get back in the groove. How do I know when you will be on a stitch with me? Is it posted somewhere?
Teresa, it was so good to see you again soon after your "comeback" video. I love the piece you are working on. I had a "low" spinal for an abdominal surgery and I was NOT awake. I think your biggest obstacle will be steps. Your doctor should have told you what to expect. You can't compare yourself to anyone. YOU WILL DO GREAT. ❤❤❤ I'll be thinking about. ❤🙏❤
Hello Teresa, 😍 loved your Stitch with Me. Good luck🍀 with your hipreplacement. Hopefully everything will go smoothly and you will not have a lot of pain. Have a great sunday and till next time. Bye from the Netherlands
All the best for you surgery and hope you will be healthy and walking soon again! Thanks for this video, I will think of you! In my training I worked in the surgery room for a few weeks. A hip replacement is a big surgery, which can also lead to blood loss, so I think they don't want a general anaestetic because it is, in its own very tough for the body and also risk. Wishing you the best!
I love the peacock! Blue is a favorite color but I think I would get bored with it. I am working on my first full coverage piece by Mystic Stitch at the moment all I am doing is black and a dark blue. So we will see how long this will take me. lol Best of luck with the surgery I will keep you in my prayers that all goes well and you have a speedy recovery.
Hope it all goes super-smoothly tomorrow Teresa. Just ask the man for all the anaesthetics! I have had both knees done and wasn’t at all keen on hearing anything or feeling movements or whatever! The spinal is great as an extra because no pain on waking! With knees they are very insistent that you take all the pain meds - pain is not useful and stops you doing the exercises and walking properly. So it might be brain fog rather pain that delays stitching. Sure you will bounce back as you are younger and fitter than a lot of hip patients. xx
