Hello, my lovely Flosstube Friends!
This is part five/A of the cross stitch full coverage for beginners mini-series.
This series will be a step by step guide looking at all you need to know to get started on learning to cross stitch on a full-coverage design.
Here in part five-A, we will be doing a step by step tutorial looking at how to start using the parked threads that we have already placed and how to use a single strand for those who choose to stitch on higher counts of fabric.
This is the last of the mini-series videos with all the information. I will be doing stitch-with-me videos so we can all stitch our new projects together and will run the Q&A to answer any questions that have already came up and any you have following these videos, so please put your questions in the comments below and I will do my best to address them in the following videos.

Yes, this video DOES makes a difference to somebody. Learning so much today, parking, full coverage, confetti stitching, can hardly wait to start. Thank you for the lessons.

The tip on only parking down once he top row is finished is an excellent tip! I may have figured it out on my own, but I'm glad I didn't have to!

My mom has cross stitched my siblings and dad’s and my Christmas stockings and since then, many of her grandkids (my sisters have stitched their kids - in fact, my sisters and I worked together one year to stitch one for my mom). As a child, my mom spent some time teaching me but I never really enjoyed it. Now, I’m in my 40s and pregnant. I want my mom to make this baby a stocking too but her eyes can no longer do it. My sisters lives are too busy to ask them to do it. I want it bad enough to go ahead and do it myself, I’ve had the kit for months, it just has felt too daunting to start. Not only are your instructions clear and helpful, but now, the task that felt so big just a few days ago, is a project I’m excited to get going on. I never heard of parking before - I totally love the idea of it and I can’t wait to get going on it. AND, I love the loop method too. ❤ Thank you! ❤ ❤ Thank you! ❤ ❤ Thank you! ❤

Thank you so very much Teresa. I a long time stitcher who at the age of 75 decided I must stitch a HAED. However, confusion reigned because I had never heard of "parking" or stitching in squares. I have followed your series from 1 to 5A. I am so confident now I have bought a second HAED (Optimistic I know) and waiting for 123 Stitch to get the gridding Lugana I want. I am so very grateful for people like you to take the time to explain step by step.

Teresa, you are fantastic!!! I have been stitching off and on for 35 yrs and was taught by my Mom, but she never did full coverage. I just started my first full coverage one 3 weeks ago and last night realized I made a mistake and had to rip it all out (grrr). I never really understood how to keep up with parked threads, but now I do and this will save floss, and also reduce errors!! I am excited to get back to my project thanks to you!

Hi Teresa, I have been cross stitching for years but I learnt before the internet so thought I knew it all, well wasn't I surprised when I found your tutorials and discovered parking threads and doing a 10x10 square. It makes it so much easier to count stitches. Hopefully no more frogging because I can't count! Thanks very much for taking the time to do these tutorials, they are very thorough and interesting, I've learnt a lot xxx

After watching a few dozen videos on parking and being left more confused than when I started I have to say this is the ONLY one that makes the process clear. Thank you so much. The design I’m eager to start isn’t full coverage but the center is very dense with a lot of changes of color. I’ll adapt your method for that part and do regular cross country for the rest. I love the design I have but would have never attempted it without your video. I can’t wait to get started!

Teresa, I just happened onto your videos. Since this video isn’t recent, you may not even get to read this comment, but I felt like needed to let you know I finally found a good teacher/person that cares.I was looking for someone to explain everything from the beginning, and just when I was about to give up, I found you. You’ve explained a lot and now I look forward to actually starting on a small design. Never think that you are explains too much, because there are some people like me searching for someone to please help them to start from the beginning. Thank you!

Before last week I did not realize there were all these hints & tricks on RU-vid! I have been cross-stitching for 33 years... I've always used the loop method, but not starting at the top... I would start from the bottom, flip & pull the thread through the loop... I am happy you have a better way! I only learned about parking this past week as well... seemed confusing, not it is perfectly clear! Thank you for explaining... I look forward to watching the rest of the videos on your channel!

Hi I just found your channel! I am learning so much! Thank you for teaching in your series. I started cross stitching in 1986. I cross stitched beautiful large pictures for about 10 years and then stopped. I recently found diamond dots. I have beautiful 13 big pictures of DPs also. I decided I might want to start cross stitching and you have taught me so much (like parking) that we didn’t know about years ago. So awesome!

Hi Teresa, little late to the party but better late than never. Your full coverage tutorial autoplayed after a flosstube and I continued to watch even though I had zero interest in full coverage stitching. To me it looked like parking was a complete faff but I watched all the series and then saw HAED had a sale so on whim I ordered a pattern!! Not tested out yet but fabric on order!! thought I would aim to do 100 stitches a day allowing for 100 ish days ‘off’ it would mean that the design would be finished in 2 years! Why not!! Thank you for inspiring me and thank you for your flosstube content - very entertaining! I am an on and off cross stitcher of 30 odd years, dabble in other crafts but cross stitch is my true love, despite the time I have been stitching you have taught me a lot, so again thank you!! I am going to go back through your older floss tube content now whilst I stitch too. Best wishes from one Essex girl to another, Libby

Thank you for the videos! The back of your work was giving me major anxiety because I was always taught that the back of the work should be as neat as the front. That always made HAEDs seem too intimidating to me. It was good to hear you say that the back doesn't matter and that it's okay for it to be messy! That makes tackling one of these seem doable now!

I have been stitching for a year this month, and I just have to say I am so happy you made these videos. They have helped with stuff that I have been struggling with for months now, so a huge thank you. I also have to say that I store my floss on my ongoing cross stitch projects on those plastic floss holders, the ones with either 15 or 20 holes on each side. When I saw you pull out floss without taking it all out, just to find the middle of all that floss to put everything back MIND BLOWN :) I have been pulling my floss off the way you do now and its a huge game changer lol I love it again thank you so much for the videos, how-to, and tips and tricks.

I have started working by parking my threads, but this tutorial has really made me understand WHY I need to mark my chart! I haven't been marking the chart, and when I pick up a parked thread to start stitching again, it takes me absolutely forever to find where I need to stitch again. This has been so clearly explained in this video, and I thank you so much for it. I will adjust my ways, and hopefully get back to enjoying my stitching.

Omgosh this series was Ah-Mazing! I have been cross stitching on and off for over 30 years - mostly off, lol. I first found HAEDs as diamond paintings. I have always loved them, but been intimidated. Recently, another young RU-vidr got me very excited to try a full coverage project, but I was still nervous and confused. I was binge watching your videos, and this series popped up! As soon as I saw your parking video BOOM… everything clicked! Then I was like duh! And decided then and there I was going to try one. I took your recommendation and ordered a story keeper a few days ago. Went out and purchased my floss, and I’m just waiting for my fabric… I’m really bad at waiting! LOL. Actually, as I was opening their website to go gaze at my wish list, I noticed they were having a half off sale! So I may or may not have purchased another little chart, lol. Lest you think I’m awful, I AM proud to say that I WAS a responsible grown-up and did not run out and order the pip and chip floss drop storage system after I watched that video you did… man that was hard, lol. So there’s a positive side to my diagnosis (below)… I’m getting better about adulting, lol. Seriously, though, I just want to give you a heartfelt thank you. You didn’t just teach me how to do something new, fun, creative and beautiful. I was recently diagnosed with cancer (again) this time incurable (But it is not immediately terminal, it’s possible to go on for years :) SO, I WILL finish all the things. lol). Anyway, the gift you gave me was so much more. I’m having surgery next week, and I now have this brand new adventure to occupy my hands, and more importantly, my mind. That is something that has been invaluable during this season of my life. And so, I plan to stitch on my HAEDs to my heart’s content during my recovery, and I’m excited to have goals that extend far into the future. So, thank you very much for taking the time to make this tutorial series, my sweet stitchy friend from ‘across the pond,’ lol.

Thank you for doing these Teresa! I have been stitching for close to 30 years, but only discovered full coverage in the last 5 or 6. I’ve tried parking, but wasn’t really feeling like I was successful with it. Watching your explanations about how you do it has helped it make more sense in my brain, and now I’m excited to try to sit down and try again on one of my full coverage pieces. ~Katrina

Then, decided it was time to finish some things and pulled out a little prayer started for my son who is now 34 and finished it for my grandson...and by gum, I'm hooked! Because I never had any instruction, I decided to see what was new and found your channel...what a joy!! You have been the teacher I always wanted and never had. And, I'm stitching as I watch this series you've done. How generous of you to take the time to produce these. I actually went on the HAED site and looked at patterns...hope to screw up my courage and take the plunge. I will be forever indebted to you for your excellent instruction! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

These beginner videos have been amazing. It has been 20 years since I’ve cross stitched but am getting back into it. These videos taught me so much I never knew and was a great refresher on the things I did. Thank you! ~ Kel

Absolutely love this tutorial. I found your channel when I saw you were gonna show how to start a full coverage chart and park your threads. I want to get into full coverage and didn’t have a clue as I’m just getting back into stitching from a hiatus of 20 some years and I love how things have changed. Thank you greatly. Also I love your sense of humor.

Thank you so much for this series. I am working on my first ever project, and your series has helped me so much. I have a degenerative spinal condition and have found this hobby is a great way to escape the symptoms, be creative and productive.

I have been doing a loop start for years but didn’t realize I could do it from the front. Thank you! So nice when I am using scroll bars and a lap frame.
