Nice little spot. I take the grandbairn there and it’s always good for a few small fish and you can jump in the car if it rains. There’s usually a seal bobbing about amongst the tied up boats as well, which he loves.
Great video thanks Gary! Nice Flounder and a couple of Herring. Looks like a good venue, right up my street! Can't walk far these days, so fishing out of the boot of the car is a good option. Tight lines, stay safe & well - Dave. 🎣🎣👍👍
Cracking video buddy ….. don’t do any sea fishing though I have had a couple of berry short sessions lure fishing when on holiday ….. looks a nice spot and easy access is always a bonus especially with the little ones ( sure there will be a macky dees close by to keep em happy 👍😁) ……. Then shimano reels are spot on. I use them in size 2500 and 1000 for light lure fishing and they never fail ….. plenty of crabs about and I bet the little burggers soon take advantage of a free meal on the hook !!! Some nice fish caught and for me as long as I catch one of any size ya not blanking !!… All the best to ya and enjoy 👍😁🎣
Nice clean and informative video, why did you let all the crabs go, were you diverting them from your line bait, were you trying to catch bait. Just wondering.
Thanks, It was just to show the numbers of crab in the river and how they can quickly strip your bait off the hook. The hardbacks aren't really good for bait apart from for smooth hound fishing in other areas.
Yes, they do eat them, but you need the scent off the peeler crabs to attract the cod to the bait to give a better chance of them finding your bait especially at night and in thick weed when they might not be able to see the crab.
I've got some Vermz and a light leger rig. Any beaches north of the Tyne worth fishing with a spinning rod for flounder? Also, would pollock or coalfish Bite a topwater plug off Whitley pipe?
