Welcome to fishing in the UK. I love to share my passion for sea fishing, knowledge and experiences of sea fishing in the UK. I fish around the UK coast, using various fishing techniques like Spinning, float fishing and bait fishing. I hope you enjoy the videos and hope you get something out of them. Thanks Gary.
Gary I'm completely clueless when it comes to sea fishing im from Consett so its a bit of a trek.. could i possibly shadow you and gain sone knowledge so my fishing trips could possibly be better?
I've managed to punch out some feathers with a 4oz an acc 9:58eptable distance but I've always thought of mackerel like brown trout of the sea, lighter tackle more fun
Gary do you think the maki are in by now , I’m off to South sheilds first gate tomorrow and just gonna throw out some razor claws 40g and 60g also have some daylights there , would love your feedback , I’m just wondering if I have any chance of pulling anything in really
I never really fished but I would like to start my daughters partner is a good fisherman he says he would set me up, I have micro camper is there anywhere in South-shields I could park for the night ?
Hi gaz , another nice little vid .. you’ve got the right idea fishing from the rocks instead of amongst the crowds of macky bashers on the bottom of shields pier .. I remember the vid you did at littlehaven from the beach catching mackerel .. great footage and a bit different .. hope ya well 👍🏻
A superb video Gary thanks to your finesse in catching fish off the shore of the UK. As a guy from Massachusetts I love fishing and your video just assuages my vicarious desire for it!
Hi Buddy, I want to start Mackerel fishing. Never done this before and the dog love to at them. Can you recommend any sources videos etc that could hep me? Ps- I live Cullercoats, were best area's for newbie? Cheers
Hi, I've got a few mackerel videos on my channel. The techniques are pretty much the same way to catch them all over the UK. Piers are probably your best bet as it's easier than from the rocks. Blyth pier would be your closest, I think.
Before the big storm last year smashed shields pier that was the place to go for you but you still can fish up to the first gate there but it will get busy soon when the fish arrive in numbers.
Hi Gary welcome back good to know the Mackerel are arriving now at last will you be trying up to the gate at shields or Littlehaven with the piers mostly shut it will get very crowded everywhere this year maybe even the Leas. Looking forward to one day meeting you and saying hello and thanks for getting me in to fishing again.😀
Hi Gary , Yet again another belting video mate , its been many years since i fly fished the Derwent tbh thanks for taking us with you , take care & tight lines
some lovely fishing buddy …. i love lure fishing as it’s so mobile and searching and looking for fish instead of just sitting on a chair or box ….. great video and all the best to you and yours 😃👍😁🎣
Thanks for sharing the location. Us landlocked midlander's need somewhere to go spinning! It's a huge expanse. Which side do you park? Three and a half hours away for me so want to utilise the time there well! Never even thought about reservoirs!😊
We parked at the south shore carpark first near the dam then drove around to the cronkley bay side then to the carpark at pow Hill. You can get a map at the lodge that will show you where all the carparks are.
@@fishingintheukgarywood thanks so much for that Gary. Will head up next weekend hopefully! What a pleasure to have someone who is open about locations!😊
