I'm from Indonesia and was spinning for about 2 years when I was travelling through SF and really itching for a spin. I was skating down Haight street when I saw this dude walking by with his staff and poi. I promptly skated up to him and said, Hi, I'm Ali, wanna spin? We went to the park and Nicky busted out some crazy flow. He has been one of my most inspiring mentors on my path to poi, he continues to inspire me with this performance and the idea conquering self doubt! Thanks Nicky! Peace!
nice flow nicky ! i also practicing some tai qi and qi gong , and doing flow with a staff, its very good for both the brain lobes and to the muscles 2 . more then that its good for governing the flow of qi in the body and calms the soul. brings out the infinity of motion boosting wei qi and immune system and benefits the mind set of meditation and centers you ... advice to all practice some jugling with every instrument that you like :::-)
Dude, you've been my single biggest influence for poi this year, a real gamechanger! Bearstepping, flowing, rythm, movements that feel good for the body etc... please expand your poi-chi series
This brought tears to my eyes, it’s so hard for me to put my adhd on pause of think too hard about a move, but once I get into that flow and breath just flowing with the music it’s amazing. The sound of one mind dancing. Dude got in my feelings on that one, well done well done
Nicky I can watch this video a thousands of times and never get bored! You are really my true inspiration, role model and shining star :D Unique and one of a kind...with all that just so simple and modest
Hahahah far out brussel sprout, that is a wonderful creation. Thankyou kindly for birthing and sharing this. The first intro of intrusive thoughts, got my so good i probably woke up my neighbours. Fluff me, i love this. Adding to my poi music playlist for feeling the flow, thankyou again.
ive been spinning for like 3 years or so and its crazy how many ppl have their own style.. i have 8 foot ceilings so I have alot of low styly stuff with weaves, iso and stalling type of things but then other people with no ceiling, no have the crazy anti spin flowers and wide open flow.. its fun to see man.. your awesome.. i like that you arent afraid to show a tie up.. learning anything once in poi means getting tangled 100 times first haha.. Love from MN.. FLOW LIFE
You are one of my favourite flow artists to watch, such an inspiration in your smoothness and dance. I especially love those amazing body isolations where you are isolating around your body or head while you turn. It's my favourite poi aesthetic! But in two years of pandemic spinning and never having had the chance to go to an event, I can't find any tutorials or anyone to teach me this move. Do you have a video showing how, or any recommendations?
Wow.. You just intensely resparked my passion with poi. I've been out of it for almost a year. Made me realize that I need to make time to spin every day again. This performance stole my mind and my heart. I'm going to the beach to spin now. Thank you!!! And Namaste. -3
Watching it again after 7 years! Still impressed as the first time. His showmanship is clever, unpredictable and funny, a pleasure to watch. I think I'll copy one day... hahaha

Wow, it's clever, funny, inspirational and beautiful, I didn't think it was possible to achieve that with an poi act. I applauded for you from behind the computer ;-)
