But brilliantly Georgie now grows it, and she sings about it. Phaceeeeeelia, you’re breaking my heart.

Seeing your garden and the way you garden is an affirmation that I’m doing ok. Thank you for sharing the good and the bad and the reality of being a flower farmer. I thought I had very little in my patch until I cut 4 buckets this morning. Now to find customers!

Phacelia does well in dense cover crops, it is held up by the other plants, elongates etc. You might not like it as much on its own, so try to companion plant it

So excited to see you making videos again!! I'm relieved to know that even pro's like you have difficulties with seed starting, pests as well as critters and yet you carry on and overcome. I've had a tough year and have lots of empty spots in my beds. Trying to figure out what I can direct sow and if it's worthwhile to start more seeds inside. I'm also very much looking forward to more of your bouquet making videos. You are quite amazing in that department as well!! Thanks Sarah 😊❤💐

I have no problem with slugs any more since I let my chickens run into my garden. 100% natural, good for the soil (and the chickens) and very effective 😉

Don’t they wreck your garden plants? My son now has chicken & wants to let them out!

Thank you for sharing again, I do love all your videos from start to finish...what kind of lupins are those that get that tall? I was to have cut flower length of lupins but it hasn't worked that well yet

Thank you for your wonderful videos! I have the same problem with something digging up my newly planted seedlings, but it may not be a rabbit. It could be a squirrel, chipmunk or bird. I have seen the birds here grab a seedling by its stem and pull it straight out and then peck around underneath to dig something out!

I utterly envy your skill and experience as a flower farmer. Have you tried inviting birds to nest around your fields? Birds have really helped this year with my slug problem. Bird boxes are great invitations for the birds to nest. 💗💗
@bloomandgray
@bloomandgray Год назад
I have got lots of bird boxes in one of my fields but not the other. There aren’t many places to put them, but they definitely enjoy perching on the trees and nesting in the rose bushes in that field

Do you have a resource list or video that shows what you grow, when you plant and when you expect blooms from.those plants?

No I don’t have anything like this online!

Hi there, I’ve learnt a lot from your videos and am very grateful. I have been wondering how you learnt! Did you study horticulture? Train as a florist? Do workshops? Teach yourself? Would be interested to hear. Big thanks x
@bloomandgray
@bloomandgray Год назад
I am self taught in everything I do, I have done the odd workshop but there’s nothing better than experience!

There are some cheap wireless security cams an/or trail cameras on the webs. They can be motion activated with photo an/or video an they work in the dark. I had a family of raccoons tearing open my panda film bags for the ? worms? There are also motion activated sprayers, shoot them with a water blast.

What is the reason you don't use sluggo? I was under the impression it is not dangerous to anything but the slugs.

If you pinch the cosmos now, how long before the new stems flower? I'm growing for a friend's wedding at the end of July.
@bloomandgray
@bloomandgray Год назад
We’ve got a while to wait yet, and pinching them may set them back another two weeks. I think it’ll be august before I get flowers from these

What type of phlox do you grow? Do you grow annual or perennial? I have the hardest time getting annual phlox to germinate! Solidago also. I finally got some to germinate, but they have been growing for about 2 months & they're still smaller than a quarter!?!
@bloomandgray
@bloomandgray Год назад
I grow annual mainly and a small amount of perennial, I usually germinate phlox in the dark and it does fine, have you done that?

Надеюсь переведете моё сообщение на английский. Фацелия является прекрасным сидератом, тоесть разрыхляет почву, помогает бороться с сорняками, и обладает антибактериальным эффектом.
