I just got my V400 and I must say, it's great that someone finally made a serious, uncompromising delta! The delta is indeed a great platform, but it really needs a first class effort to make it shine and not be a nightmare.
@WildRoseBuilds

Totally! Are you planning to get an accelerometer for input shaping? I'm really interested in what speeds this thing could get up too with a bunch of tuning. i guess i've been bitten by the fast printing bug. thanks for watching! :)

@mikereynolds2934
@mikereynolds2934 Год назад
@@luissuarez5897 I would recommend the P1P for a first printer. It will have better support and will probably work perfectly out of the box. The V400 has a couple of known issues that can be resolved with tuning Klipper and slicer settings, but it may be a bit overwhelming for a beginner. Delta printers are know for being a bit more finicky than cartesian printers. Plus the build volume of the P1P should be good enough for most projects; it is a bit bigger than "normal" Ender volume. Keep in mind the V400 has a 300mm diameter, which can inset a 212mmx212mm square, if you are printing something square, the P1P can print larger than the v400. The V400 does have the height advantage though.

This v400 is my second FLSun printer, an upgrade from my flsun SR. The flsun v400 is another incredible printer from FLSun, easily achieving speeds of 380 - 400mm/s with factory hardware and firmware, and consistently delivers great quality prints using only the basic Cura profiles included with the software.

This is my first 3D printer and the experience has been absolutely what I'd describe as 'Plug and Play', with only one failed print caused by me trying to push max speeds on a tall and narrow model. The included 'Speeder Pad' touchscreen puts all controls only a menu or so deep, allows for WiFi connectivity/printer management and can apparently run multiple printers simultaneously (though I've yet to test this last feature out). Bed adhesion is insanely good with PLA and PETG, and this thing is fascinating to watch as the arms and head articulate at absurd speeds.

I'm printing your test cube on my old Monoprice now, but have decided to order a V400 using your link in the very near future. Not "immediately" because I've set myself the pre condition of building a shelf/table for it out in the shop. That thing is TALL! Thanks again for the great video!

this printer is FAST! An articulated mechanical octopus I printed that would have taken one of my other printers around 18-23 hours on 0.2mm took only 10 hours on this printer. Most of the speed is in accelerations though. So very complex models will still take longer. I'm just very impressed I'm maintaining a lot of the quality with high speeds.
@WildRoseBuilds
@WildRoseBuilds Год назад
I'm going to pull the trigger on one of those accelerometers I think to counter vibrations and increase acceleration speeds, either way that volcano hotend is begging for a 0.6mm nozzle. i'll have some more videos on this once i spend some more time using it! thanks for watching!
@daliasprints9798
@daliasprints9798 Год назад
@@WildRoseBuilds Tuning input shaping will make a vast difference to how high you can crank the acceleration, especially for travel and non outer perimeters where it's fine to push it to just below the point where you skip steps, and acceleration is very often the bottleneck to print time.
@daliasprints9798
@daliasprints9798 Год назад
For reference, the McGybeer full size smooth octopus is only 2h45m on my Ender 3 thanks to well tuned input shaper allowing over 42k on X and over 14k on Y. That's without even going to high print speeds, just 230. The V400 well tuned could probably do it in 1.5-2 hours.

Any print quality or bed adhesion issues I’ve encountered have been promptly resolved with cleaning the bed, Re-leveling/adjusting Z height. As with any printer, it is a good idea to PID tune the bed and heating elements, and to calibrate your extruder. I’d buy 20 of these things if I wasn’t sure my wife would divorce me for doing so.
@WildRoseBuilds
@WildRoseBuilds Год назад
hahahaha. Yeah I did PID and estep tuning, or rotation tuning I think klipper calls it. super easy to do via the mainsail ui. it would be cool to have a macro on the speeder pad to auto calibrate and save pid after moving the machine to a new location or changing to a different nozzle temp for different materials. thanks for watching!

Yes! I'm going to bolt some acrylic to this machine for an enclosure. fast abs parts would be awesome off this thing!
@MisterkeTube
@MisterkeTube Год назад
@@WildRoseBuilds I would really love to see a video on such an enclosure. As the print-head basically fills a (sharpened at the top) cylinder, an enclosure would either need to be triangular surrounding the legs but then big enough to surround that cylinder to leave enough room for the head or cylindrical and attached to the legs. You cannot just mount straight panels between the legs without severily reducing the build volume. So, a video showing how this can be done (ex. bending acrylic) could help me strike through one of the disadvantages of delta-printers on my list.

Love this printer, it is my first, I have a Zortrax M300 Plus at work. This is a little bit too fast for its own good, need to slow it down a touch to get the best out of it. The acceleration while moving between printed parts makes the belt jump a tooth! May just need the belts tensioned, haven't got round to it yet! Had a couple of problems with it when I received it, one of the wires inside the top had come loose from its connector so one of the 3 motors did nothing!Only took about 10 minutes to find and fix. The other issue I had was trying to load the V400 profile into Cura! That took a real long time! Not simple! Other than that, love it, great quality prints in a fraction of the time my work printer can achieve.

neat stuff! Really curious to see how you get on with input shaper tuning. seems like it's a little more finicky for deltas than for core XY or other cartesian style kinematic systems because the position of the print head in the build volume makes a big difference for the resonances. Then again I would expect a core XY to be more rigid near the borders of the build volume as well so maybe it's a wash. Overall I'm glad to see the market is moving beyond bedslingers and towards delta and core XY being more of the norm than some odd curiosity. I'm pretty happy with my much hated ender 7 after I klipperized it and it's cool to see more polished options like this in the high speed printing segment that give people an easier start without so much messing about or the highly proprietary experience of bamboo labs.

I think Klipper is the next evolution of that obsession for me. The last benchy i printed with a P1P took just a bit over 15 Minutes. This thing is a beast. The V400 has multiple problems („no contact to Moonracker“ anyone?) with bigger prints, so it’s an interesting concept, but not for people who need reliable printing. The P1Ps we use are (for now) as reliable as the prusas. We’ll see if they hold up long term, but they are definitely the fastest devices we have for now…

The V400 should be set at a lower acceleration than you did to equal the quality of the P1P, details are smoothed too much. As tip: when you compare printers, print the acceleration tuning tower, so that it's easy to see at which acceleration the gap increases and at which acceleration the ringing appears.

I'm pretty disappointed in my V400. I had lots of problems with it. I had layer shifts, stringing, over extrusion and under extrusion on the same print, uneven layer lines, rounding on the corners, the filament sensor stopped working after a week and more. I made every calibration I could : tensioned the belts equally, PID tuned the bed and hotend, made an ADXL calibration, switched to spreadcycle mode to fix layer shifts, calibrated retraction, calibrated linear advance, switched filaments, dryed filaments... Now it's working as it should, with a pretty okay print quality. However, my slightly modded Ender 3 V2 beats the V400 by a lot. The Ender 3 print quality is far superior for a third of the price. I'm a bit disappointed in the V400. I hoped to get a good print quality, but no, it just looks like prototyping... Now some people recommended me to slower the speed, which I won't do. It's a V400. It's MEANT to print fast. It's like saying "print slower" on a Bambu Lab P1P/X1C. or like using 60hz on a 240hz monitor. Anyway, thanks a lot for your quality review. Have a nice day !

Thank you for this video. I would actually like to buy a newer 3D printer, but somehow none of them meet my requirements. Speed is actually what interests me the least. Let's face the truth, what a 3D printer does most in private use is: standing there and wait on his owner. Security, I'm interested on. It doesn't matter if it prints quickly, it has all the time of the world if it can print permanently safely. What I just don't see: Multiple temperature monitoring in the event of a temperature sensor failure. Clean wiring, possibly smoke warning and spaghetti detector. Only the thermal runaway protection is not enough for me, it may be due to me age, but the security, there is still too much Asian thinking in it (and i was in asia for a long time, also in china for final inspections)..... Furthermore, a larger installation space (I'm a homeowner and there are already one or the other project that would just be a bit bigger). In simple terms, it's just not time to make a new purchase on a 3D Printer. It's just time to wait and see what a race the X1 Carbon has opened up. I'm really excited to see what QUID will counter with.... What was my shopping list when buying the first 3D printer: 3D printer, filament, fire extinguisher, fire blanket and another smoke detector. I don't really care whether that makes sense or not and everyone has to know for themselves. I just do so ;-)

Hello. I've downloaded and installed your cura version (4.13:1) but i can't find any tuned profile baked inside. I've found the 0.2 stock normal profile (it's the same of the stock profile provided from FLSUN for cura 4 and 5). Could you help me to understand where I can find your parameters? Thank you in advance

Thanks for the video!! I'm actually about to sell my P1P and buy the V400. BTW - I'm trying to find that resonance calibrartion kit you pictured but can't seem to locate it. Can you point me in the right direction?

> Is arguable just as good as the X1C No it isn't. - Stringing - Elephant footing - Z-wobbling - Flat toothpasting - Layer under extrusion - Retract snotting

delta printers are better because you can put glass around them to keep the plastic stuff inside and the print bed isnt constantly moving and vibrating while the machine tries to print things on it

Is the stringing worst with petg?
@WildRoseBuilds
@WildRoseBuilds Год назад
I haven't tried petg yet!, I think I was slightly over extruding during these tests so I might have to revisit my extruder calibration to remedy the stringing.

which one would you recommend? p1p , x1, or v400?
@WildRoseBuilds
@WildRoseBuilds Год назад
p1p if you need fast prints and don't want to tinker, V400 if you want full control of every aspect of your machine.

is their a way to import the ini profiles from the link in the description?
@WildRoseBuilds

The profiles I received are baked into a cura version, but if you install it you should be able to export them and then import them to whatever version of cura you’re using

The truth about the flsun v400....(or better, about flsun itself) Bought a unit mid january Have it for several weeks Unable to extract one single good print from the machine The issue is that the effector keeps on blocking for whatever reason. I constantly have to unload/load filament to temporarily fix the issue. Very frustrating. Contacted flsun. "Please watch this video" No support. No help. No nothing. Considering filing an official complaint, this has all the hallmarks of a ripoff. Do not do business with these people, hey clearly do not give a fuck about their customers.

How experienced are you with 3D printers? Nozzle clogs can be caused by a bunch of things that are out of the manufacturers control. Nozzle temp, filament quality, retraction settings, ambient temperature, flow rate / esteps, first layer height, etc can all cause clogs. Do you have all that stuff dialed in?

No 3d printer can move at 500 / sec. Accel, direction change and extrusion speed will control speed. You can set the speed at any level you want.
@GoldBl4d3
@GoldBl4d3 2 месяца назад
1200mms max speed woah! Except you still wont get a quality print over 200. Speed is a marketing scam in 3d printers.
