@@haskellthompson6310 As a high level musician, for sure he's carefully chosen, set up, and adjusted his gear to get the sound he wants. But what I was referring to is in the realm of musical taste and sensibility: On 6 string, he's playing his melodies in the bass's top octave, and playing his accompanying arpegg'd chords (and especially the chord extension notes/color notes) high enough that nothing muddies. That sounds dead obvious (duh!); but some of the most amazing E.R. bassists I've seen online don't manage to always stay out of the mud. I can't listen to them for very long; but this guy I _can._

Is a 6 string even considered extended range anymore these days?

Check out his band House of Waters, it's really amazing.

He’s great but I like players who can hold a groove like for instance, Lamont Johnson of Detroit who’s on here or the other masters like Marcus, Stanley, Victor, Louis (rip).

Surely, there is a place for both. Why even have an upper register? To hit occasional high accent notes?

Do you think this guy can't groove when needed? I also like "regular bass playing" more, but I like this kind of playing too. It's great to have an instrument that can do both :)

Get over yourself, he’s also a absolutely killer bass player and can play great grooves, he just doesn’t have his head so far up his ass that he can only see the bottom five frets like you
