Love all the little pep talks.... "Don't bloody touch the stone - capiche", "don't worry about your fingernails it is not worth the emotional meltdown". I feel like you know me so well - I had a massive fling myself down on the carpet toddler tantrum yesterday because I "bloody touched the stone"!!!!! Real tears people - real tears!

Absolutely the best video and so detailed on flush setting a square.. or even trillion stone!! I also agree with the suggestion of leaving text description up longer, as it’s not long enough time to read & see what your doing.. Simultaneously

Beautiful job AND beautiful piece at the end with multi size/shape settings.❤️❤️❤️ I am certain that required LOTS of patience. Some day I hope to acquire this skill. I actually have some princess cut CZ's so maybe I should practice with copper. Thanks for a really great tutorial. 👍🙂
@tattoofthesun
@tattoofthesun Год назад
Once you get to silver, one of the nice things about it is that if you make a mistake early on, and there’s no going back, you can always put it in the crucible, melt it down and pour it and reuse the silver. I discovered that with copper, if I messed something up, it is messed up forever, because copper melts at such an extreme temperature.
@tlojewelrylove
@tlojewelrylove Год назад
@@tattoofthesun You are absolutely correct! Copper requires a bigger/hotter flame. So far I only use a butane torch like a kitchen torch. I love working with silver.

MOST EXCELLENT!! You say "pull" the metal" do you mean push? Or are you leaning the graver in towards the stone? Hard to see sometimes but so great to watch and see. So great to SEE this at all, thank you so much Lucy!

Wonderful video! I think the shots you add in with a side view make for an above-average production. Also, just the right amount of music and super-clear detail of creating the setting. Wow. I think your videos are worth paying for. It was especially nice that you had to cope with a fat girdle - I have so many stones in my collection that have awful girdles. If I was only able to handle nice sharp girdles, I wouldn't be ready to use them. Could you please post a source for the GRS yellow diamond polishing wheel? I couldn't find them.

Hello, very helpful video indeed. What else would help is to mention the burr sizes and all other tools that were used. For the burr sizes it's tricky since synthetic gems have painfully uneven girdles. So, how do you deal with that and what ball burr to start and to finish with this 5mm CZ, for example? Thank you!

I so wish we didn’t have music and we could just listen to your voice and the sound of the tools. And the sound of the work, and sound of your advice... maybe edit the music in when you speed up the sawing or something. But I don’t know why so many people think we want to hear their choice of music. I love you tho!!!!
