Doing quite the tune-up on the first gen Tacoma. I replace spark plugs, spark plug wires, oil, oil filter, coolant, and the engine decal! I hope you enjoy! Also, please don't drink your coolant :)

Very helpful video , greatly appreciated! one thing you might want to do is let out the distilled water out of the engine on the last flush. There's a 14mm bolt behind the mudflap on the passenger side when loosened , the water in the engine should drain out as well. This ensures that the coolant in the radiator is a pure as possible

I found this video after searching for tips on how to do a coolant flush on my 2000 Tacoma SR5. I got what I came for as well as some other tips I didn't expect. Namely, I think I'm going to start looking to replace my headlights next. Seeing yours sealed the deal for me. I'm gonna check your video archive to see if you have any content on the install, or where you got them.

Headlights are actually the ones that came with the truck when i bought it. All I’ve done is polish them to take off oxidation and they clean up pretty nice! Let me know if you have any questions!

You may want to tighten your altenator belt. I had the same annoying startup squeal on my 2002 Taco. Great maintenance video.

Thanks for the great info. Quick question. After you mixed new coolant w/ distilled water-how much of it did your truck take?

To flush my coolant fluid do I only need to drain it from the radiator?
@ConnorLee
@ConnorLee Год назад
That all you can do. There will still be more old coolant in the engine. That’s The purpose of doing multiple flushes. Each time you add new coolant and flush it it picks up more of the old coolant. You have to run the vehicle in between flushes to mix all the old and new coolant up so it’s ready to drain out. Do this until you’re happy with the coolant color

Theres a drain on the block itself. Passenger side near the back
@rioraton
@rioraton 11 месяцев назад
how did you drain the radiator take the bottom hose off or?
@ConnorLee
@ConnorLee 11 месяцев назад
There is a twistable valve at the bottom of the radiator. Opening it by turning it will allow the coolant come out
@rioraton
@rioraton 11 месяцев назад
@@ConnorLee Thanks! So, one more question. AFTER you do the multiple flushing and you get the clear water HOW do you reintroduce the new fluid? Fill the radiator then fill the spill proof funnel up and start the motor and let it run until all the fluid is out of the funnel? And do you run the heater at the same time? Thanks again

Theres only 3 coil packs
@MatthewJamesFouss
@MatthewJamesFouss 5 месяцев назад
yeah and he also called them injectors and if he was having a missfire it could have been a bad coil as well as wires and spark plugs....but the coils are about 115$ each

There's an engine coolant drain for those who don't want to go through a thousand gallon/24hr water flush: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U2ijlwsykmA.html&ab_channel=PayingItForward

I remember putting some washing powder soap in the radiator with my grandfather when I was a young kid.Worked like a charm and we used a water hose to empty back out.your idea looks great but maybe more expensive
@ConnorLee
