Flushing & Vacuum Bleeding a Power Steering System
Inspect, Test, Flush, & Bleed the System
• Inspect power steering system and suspension system
• Check belts and hoses for cracks, leaks, or oil contamination, and consider replacing them if they are 5 years or older
• Compare the new product to the old product
• Flush system with recommended fluid type
• Always install a new remote reservoir, if applicable
• Always re-assemble using factory torque specs
• Vacuum bleed the system every time a line is open

How you ever seen one that the power steering works turning left but doesn't turning right. It's a 2004 cheverlet 1500 4 wheel drive. I have replaced the pump, but it didn't change anything.

So you don't need to flush if its all brand new parts? New rack, lines and pump?

Hi, New, used, and remanufactured, all need to be flushed every time a line is opened (disconnected) and every time a part is replaced. Thank you, PWR

you fail to explain how the vacuum pump is attached to the system.

Hi Jim, Have you see the "How to Properly Vacuum a Power Steering System" video (Go to minute 3:59)? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T43X316t7y0.html The adapter goes on top of the reservoir. We used the Mityvac Power Steering Adapter Kit MVA670. Thank you, PWR
