Currently have several fluvals. Settled on them years ago due to no problems. Ever. Keep them clean on a regular maintenance and lubricate the oring on reassembly. Probably due to replace an impeller at some point but so far no need.
@Jeff That's great!! I love my fluvals , I have a few as well. I'm due for some new hose as my fx6 keeps stopping to pump air out. Probably could use a tune up with the o rings and new sponges 🧽
Thanks for sharing 👍, how to properly clean wash the filter with those bio media rings , how long should change it ? Would you demonstrate another video ? Appreciate so much 🙏
@Savage- The cleaning the first time set up is simply a rinse with water, nothing special. The time before maintaining it would depend on several things: Iike size of tank or stock levels exc. waste amounts differ with each tank. But the short answer is rinse with tank water when dirty. could be a week , could be a month. but if you notice any flow decrease simply clean the media. I will consider a maintainer video in the future for sure! Thanks for watching!
I used a spray bar before but stopped because they seem to clog up more easily with algae starting from the hole farthest away. I really liked that hang on back plastic cup holder for plants. Will try that for my tank. Where do you buy something like that?
Hey mckricks1 thanks for the comment and swinging in to watch. The algae growth is more from water quality and light cycles then from a spray bar. The spray bar was probably the easy attachment for the algae and if inside the spray bar i would look at the hoses and maybe give them a clean as they are notorious for collecting and storing deposits that come from your tank. Ive seen some really nasty hoses that were a problem. The plant cup holders I made myself , they are 3D printed and have worked great for holding the plants. I 3D print for a living for the last 10ish years. If you want you can reach out to me on Fb or Insta and we can figure out how much they would need to be to make you some. :)
@@jarettspores8535 or dont clean it- its apart of the biological make up of your tank. Theres a reason why its there and its doing a job by being there and when its not needed it will go away ;)
I appreciate the feedback , everything fits as showing in my video. The grey connectors dont fit Backwards as you say it. so it would be very hard to almost impossible to install them backwards. Appreciate your viewing and comments ;)
I have 2 407s on my 90 gallon. Your flow rate looks way more powerful than mine. Maybe its because I'm using lily pipes on mine and they're causing a restriction.
Dorian- What is the inside of your can set up like? you can get premium flow by only using foam filters. Have you looked into the FX series from Fluval. The FX series might provide you with better filtration and flow based on the size of your tank. If your Lilly's were restricting, there would be a rush of water. Think about when you pinch a hose how it reacts... that being said I would suggest trying a spray bar upgrade and see if that gives you the output your looking for. :) Good luck! and thanks for watching!
