Thanks for the video. I just bought this after taking a long break from the FW hobby. Might be paying up for all the accessories, but it seems like a novice way of getting into SW, which is something I always wanted to do. Thanks for the video!
I'm using the stock light, I literally just got this kit yesterday and I do have experience with salt water with much larger tanks but one other thing some people said they had a problem with was when the salt builds up on the light fixture that it can mess with the touch sensor turning the lights off. so yeah, I might be doing something like you did with lighting if that ends up being a problem.
I think Fluval, for beginners, has the best set up to learn and start the salt water aquarium hobby. It's a shame it doesn't include a skimmer, but fluval sells those separately, and are built in for this aquarium set too. I just wished someone developed a cheaper and faster method to make proper salt water for these aquariums. The fact of needing purified water and then buying the proper salt does take its toll on the less prepared when it comes to measure the amount of salt needed in the water.
The led is useless to give it a few months and it will start flickering and where out the sensor that turns it on and off gets salt inside and destroys the switch
There’s the Fluval marine but it pricey. I don’t really want to go with Fluval again only for it to fail again. At the moment I’ve got a cheapy strip light.
