I am so glad that I found this channel today! I'm buying a Fluval Spec soon and this is the best video I've found yet! I love your intro, the calm music, just everything. Also, your room looks so awesome! I can't wait to watch all your videos and learn so much before I buy a betta!
Your videos about the Marineland were the reason I got one, have been cycling it for three weeks now and I decided to upgrade the lightning for the Hygger (again for one of your videos) thanks for all the info!
you just showed up on my recommends, checked out some of your videos and I was just wondering.. how tf do you only have 2k subs, the quality of your videos is insane ma guy
what a brilliant and helpful couple of videos man!!! thank you, thank you!!! followed your advice and instructions and now my tank look so much better than stock!
Saw your Marineland videos and I love them. Have you tried using the spray bar mod on a marineland and did it work?? I guess if you haven't taken the backs off of all of them haha.
Nice quality video and editing work! All while looking buff too💪🏾 following this series to decide which 5g tank will work for me. Just subscribed too, keep up the good work 💪🏾
Been binge watching your videos for over 2 weeks now and this just got me even more excited and happy doing the hobby ❤️ I have so many plans now for my bettas! thank you! Followed you on IG and tiktok too ☺️
Lookin good! I love the hard scape it’s awesome but simple! Also what website would you recommend for buying fish at an affordable, fair price? I’ve been looking for Pygmy Corys everywhere but have had no luck.
you can try aquabid! local fish stores are always your best best though imo, sometimes the owner will take up orders if you're looking for a specific fish
I love this! I bought the dark grey sieryu stone (can't spell it lol) but the lighter one looks lovely against that dark substrate. Looking forward to seeing your Betta fish in there soon 🥰
Just stumbled across your channel and finding all the videos very informative and relaxing to watch - great job! I am picking up this tank, specifically for a Betta soon. As I live in the UK the rain bar (and Northfin Betta Bits you mention in another video) aren't available on Amazon. Will need to try find something similar over here :)
Just got a Spec V myself and just started cycling yesterday. Bloom already in progress. How much sand did you end up using, just a 5 pound bag? I was torn between using just the one, which I think is fine, or using the 2nd to allow for more coverage/depth. I really liked your set up with the driftwood and grey stone on black, that's right up my alley. if you see this, would appreciate the heads up on the amount of sand.
how the hell did u fit that freesea heater back there though plus the lid lol its super tight and touching the filter wire which seems sketchy probably just gonna hang mine on inside
i am hooked with this. Do you have a recommendation list for a starter tank? I would love to put something together for the kitchen counter to involve a betta and any compatible fish to go along with it. clean modern look? Thanks!
Really enjoying your content mate! Will be following this closely as I'm strongly considering getting this tank for a second betta or maybe a Taiwan bee shrimp tank for my home office desk (probably a betta tank to be fair lol). BTW, wee word of warning - if you're certain its slate/quartz stone you've used for your hardscape you should be fine though seiryu stone can (potentially) up a tank's water ph and gh well past what would be comfortable for a betta.
Can I add other nano fish and shrimp with that betta? Ive been researching what tank mates I can keep with my bettas and I would love to have some yellow shrimp, chili rasboras or green nion tetras and a snail (in a 5.5 gallon tank) Would it be overstocked?
if you have the money, i'd go fluval or marineland just because of the horizontal swimming space. both are solid options nonetheless. regarding the light, it is pretty strong for one that comes in a kit. i've had luck keeping anubias, water wisteria, and frog bit using it
@@Pharmaquatics thanks. Your videos on the Marineland Portrait are wonderful. Unfortunately I need an aquarium top that isn't completely closed for a feeder.
I added in the spray bar exactly how you have it but my betta is still getting tossed around whenever he swims near it. The output is on the lowest setting. Any suggestions?? Should I reposition it?
May I ask, is it safe to put the heater in the back segment with the pump? I really want to do the same but I am scared it’s going to melt the filter!!! Help reassure me please hahah
Would you recommend this or the marine land? I currently have a betta in my fluval but I just purchased a marine land portrait. Your vids are awesome bro.
This question probably has an obvious answer but I have a betta in this tank and is the water suppose to be filled high enough to flow into the open slits where the filter is?
What heater did you use? You never went over that, the fluval doesn't come with a heater. Trying to figure out what heater to use to fit int he compartment.
I put the same black background and my betta spends every moment flaring so I took it off. Any ideas for a non reflective background? I think I’m just gonna have to cover the back with plants.
not sure how much of that is attributed by the black backing or the glass panel being reflective. you can also try black poster board from staples, michaels or even the dollar store. i used to do that but it's not as clean of a backing (just cut to shape and tape)
Ive been looking and looking lol, help me choose please! This or the Marineland Portrait or Fluvel Spec 10 or go straight for the Fluvel Felx 57l. Im lokking forward to getting back into this hobby.
If you’re near a PetSmart- the fluval flex 57L is on sale for $129 right now. If you download the app and play “treat trail” for coupons...you can win an additional 25% off :)
