being hard of hearing I thought my dreams and hopes of flying were shattered until I found out that some planes don't have to fly in radio controlled airspace. Got logged in 23.5 hrs in a taylorcraft and .5 in a cessna 150. But I wasn't aggressive in pursuing my dreams until the ultralight and sports plane came out. Now I can go back on path of my dreams. Keeping fingers crossed. Planned on moving from Oregon to FL to save me over $22,000 a year. That will be perfect to get back into flying again.
Takes me back to my old CGS Hawk...best ultralight I ever flew. I've got about 500 hours in Hawks. I flew from Kansas City to Oshkosh in mine a couple of times.
It is one of my bucket lists most wanted things to do... I have always wanted to pilot an aircraft for real, but I have only gotten as far as around 5000 hrs. of flight simulator time... I flew many a RC plane and glider, but never a real plane... i have even flown a couple hundred hours of helicopter sim. ... I have come so close to flying as close as a few feet from a lot of aircraft, so before I leave this earth for what ever is intended for my here after, I want to fly a aircraft on my own...! I keep this dream alive in my heart for as long as it takes if ever at all.....
“Costed” isn’t a word in the English language. You got it right the first time, with “airplane COST me $10k.” But, that “COSTED $9.00 an hour to fly her,” is just some illiterate garbage.
Cool UL and nice video. Don’t forget to yell “Clear prop!” before you start up. Especially in a pusher. Sorry... My Paramedic side coming out.😉🤣 I wish my mind could forget what my eyes have seen!😵😂 Is that a full throttle takeoff?
Most problems happen over the runway, so if you use the entire runway, chances are, it'll happen on ground before liftoff. Better then trying to turn and emergency land.
i used to enjoy flying, then one day i realised how boring it was, sitting up there hoping the engine wasnt going to explode, constantly looking for a place to land if shit goes bad...plus i was working on a lot of performace engines at the time and looking at broken engine parts every day, i put 2 and 2 together and dont fly anymore. dont get me wrong if there was a fueled cessna in front of me right now and someone said you can take it up if you like id be in there faster than a cat after a mouse but all the legalities, airport clearance cards, medicals, flight checks, hiring payments, its just not worth it . i could have bought a house with the money i wasted flying.
Beauitiful flight, stay safe, and may God bless you all. God created flight so we can fly. God bless you all , Mr. Tony F. Stevens. Christian soldier for God in Christ Jesus. Amen.
ultralights u do not need a licence to drive as logn as you stay under a certain elevation i would however recomend u at least learn how to pilot a airplane
I ain't no pilot but even I know that was not much of any preflight. Please do not fly over anything or anyone. You checked nothing. You are another that will give the sport a bad name.
