Well done IB, you proved to yourself that you can catch fish on any of your chosen methods, self doubt is not good for confidence, and I think we have all had days when nothing would work for us, it was a great video as usual, good entertainment, its nice to be able to smile when watching a fly fishing video :-)
I'm glad it puts a smile! Self doubt is never good, I think I will always over think everything, it's what makes me come back for more and more each day. Working out what works best, what i was doing wrong etc
Never any doubt you could catch on all three methods, the challenge was just an off day. Hope the confidence is back because you made catching fish look easy in this vlog, awesome 👏👏
Thanks Zachary! I think we all need some bad & good days. Keeps us in check 🤣. Here's me singing I'm the trout queen, then me blanking on the same river 🤣.
Great video as always guys IB its great to see someone just appreciate there fishing without being brand driven and have also enjoyed seeing you become a consistent angler over the last year or so since watching via the videos keep it up , Andy was right in there with his game face haha :)
Thank you Marco! It's funny, me and Andy were saying that I think filming the videos on myself has helped in some ways to be a better angler. Instead of sobbing on the bank when I can't catch, I have to figure it out because pressure is on from filming 🤣! Since we were allowed to go fishing after lockdown, I think I have fished more days than not fished. Even if it's just a couple of hours after work. Definitely a game changer year!
@@IBandAndyFishing do not feel pressured by a camera although its great to see fish after after fish in videos we are only human and keeping it real is a must which you guys do, i think the good thing is the more you fish the more you learn, any time on the water even just an hour here and there its good to switch things up try other methods flies etc what might work for you, may not for others its how you find your own little style of fishing. Anyway keep the videos coming guys top stuff as always. :)
Welldone IB , great fishing and beautiful Grayling. You have ro get a little dance in your Vlogs 🤣🤣🤣🤗🤗🤗❤. Stay safe guys and all the best from Downunder. 👍❤😘😘
Hahahahha pum pum! I have no idea why I even said that or what it is 🤣🤦♀️ I'm glad you found it funny! When I watched it back the first time I was in stitches 🤣 like what is going on here.
30 minutes of real fun. Thanks IB. I wondered who that strange man's voice was in the background! The Dove is a lovely river. You're lucky to live near it.
Don't put yourself down Flower, fishing is all about the right place and the right time, all your techniques are spot on, Andy just picked the better spots on the day , next time who knows?
Very surprised to hear you call that pool "The Nightmare Pool" It's my fav pool and have had many good fish this season from there on dries, however I've seen you be very successful on other pools I struggle with..... it's a funny old game, maybe one day I'll work it out!
Yeh, I cannot stand that pool, I never do that well, always miss loads of takes. I think it's loaded with smaller grayling at the beginning, they're never easy to hit for me 🤔 little buggers! You will have to tell me your secrets
Well done IB, you make it look easy! Can the two of you give some advise to a guy who just started fly fishing in September, has been on the local rivers in Connecticut probably 40 hours, and has only caught two fish? I don't want to give up but it is very frustrating. Particularly since these local rivers have all been recently stocked with Brownies and Rainbow trout.
@@IBandAndyFishing I have a 10ft 4wt rod with a 5x set up that I use for hopper/dropper fly fishing, and I have a 9ft 5wt rod with a 5x set up that I use for streamer fishing. I have tried nymphing with an indicator but I feel like the indicator spooks the fish. I would like to try euro-nymphing but I don't really understand the concept. Andy's videos are great for Euro-nymphing, but when I try to replicate, I can't get my flies to go anywhere.
Can you chat about your "red tag" nymphs? I've tied all manner of patterns but never a red tag one. Do you just add a red tag to a common nymph or soft hackle pattern? Thanks, luv your videos!
@@IBandAndyFishing Thanks, I'd appreciate that. I live in Colorado and make a trip to Montana every year so I'd love to see how a red tag works on our side of the world. Take care.
@@johnyorchak5162 The classic red tag to me would have a red tag, black or peacock body, and a black or brown CDC or hen soft hackle colar. They definitely work, obviously not all the time. If you want it a bit more colorful, try Egan's red dart, or a blowtorch. I found Egan's red dart especially apealing to rainbows and grayling, but browns will take it too.
good video IB....proving you can woop Andy's ass at fishing!!! Great strike reaction time IB -very competent. Andy, you are a lucky guy to have a girlfriend who enjoys your chosen sport and has good ability too!
