Good to see Mike again and another video showing the magnificent scenery and fish in NZ. I have been following Mike for over ten years. I shouted myself an early Christmas present last year and purchased both Mike's videos "INSIGHT" and "THE DISTANT BROWNS OF EMERALD". Every fly fisher should do yourself a favour and get these videos for your library. Keep up the good work Alex.
The footage where you put a little arrow over where the fish is lying is always really helpful... Wonder if a little video on fish spotting techniques could be good?

Can you do some Friday fill for us newbies wanting to take up the sport. Must have equipment ect and How you find the fish. Love your videos and has inspired me to give it a go.
Great stuff again Alex. Awesome seeing you with Mike again helping him with his project and making a little video in the background. Beautiful river, nice fishing mate
Awesome scenes to fish in. Hard days fishing is still better than a good day in the office mate. Love the underwater footage of the releases. Those clear rivers make it look ultra HD! Epic work!!!!!
Sorry about the cut finger. Still better at tying a knot then me though. Nice job on the video and thank you for sharing. Maybe an idea for Friday Filler. In the past I’ve accidentally pulled a hook out of the fish’s mouth when setting the hook. Is there a proper angle of the fly rod that will more efficiently hook up when the hook is set? Just a thought.
Alex , great vid mate once again mate , really cool drone shooting @ the 5 minute mark . Enjoyed the underwater footage release @ the 8 minute mark .,mand mate the closing scenery is just special up there Great stuff churs Dizzy
Tough day but well fished guys. Last eat was cool. Could see the fish move under the surface. The extra 5” made all the difference on one occasion…at least that what she said….
Nice video, takes honesty to admit you had a problem in the morning. Probably a piece of string question. Notice you often use high ground to read/watch the water before you fish it. Typically how long do you spend on that?
I have noticed in the last few videos that you appear to be moving your rod tip slightly downstream just before you hook up. Is that part of your hookset or are you speeding up the fly a little bit to entice a take? Great video as always. Can not wait until the season re-opens here in NZ in October.
it's a technique when fishing nymphs without an indy - cast ahead of the fish and based on the flow make an educated guess as to when the nymph is passing the fish, and then draw the rod downstream to feel for a hook up, not so fast that you'll ruin another attempt on the fish. Can be quite effective, especially when the fish are being picky with drifts
